The Jaguar Classic Invitational @ Autumn Ring

As a way of thanking you guys for the fact that the submissions went up last race, and because there have been some changes to the P/W settings for the
Jaguar and the Sauber C9 to correct tyre-wear problems, and because of the rather ‘idio-syncratic’ handling of the Jaguar.

I thought that it would be nice to allow anyone who wishes to, to try two cars this race.
If you drive a C9 or a Jag and would like to try another car, or vice versa, you can.
AND submit both times!

You will then be scored in the championship for your fastest times only, but bragging rights will be enormous, because the tables will be including all entries!
If, after this race, you wish to change your regular car for the other car: You can!

To reflect this opportunity, the race distance will be reduced from 100Km, down to 75Km.

Qualifying settings:
Location : Arcade mode – Time Trial – Autumn Ring(Forwards/Normal)
Tyres: RSS (Qualifying) compound only.
2 Wheels on track at ALL times. (Rumble strips are classed as track)
Use the P/W settings below.

Race Settings:
Location : Arcade Mode - Single Race – Autumn Ring(Forwards/Normal)
AI @ +10 difficulty & Racing Soft tyres
MILD tyre wear - 25 laps - Penalties set to: Speed Limiter
Tyres: RS/RS or RM or RM/RM or RH tyres.
You must use BOTH compounds ON THE FRONTat least once in the race.(Just like in F1)
You MAY use mis-matched tyre compounds front and back.
Driving Aids: TCS is optional, ASM is not allowed
Use the P/W settings below

Car – Power / Weight Limits – P/W Ratio
Jag : 0% @ 914Hp / -6% @ 840Kg = 1.088 Hp/Kg
R89C : +5% @ 954Hp / +0% @ 900Kg = 1.060 Hp/Kg
R92CP : +2% @ 958Hp / +0% @ 900Kg = 1.064 Hp/Kg
88CV : +0% @ 906Hp / -1% @ 841Kg = 1.077 Hp/Kg
C9 : -2% @ 908Hp / +1% @ 901Kg = 1.008 Hp/Kg
787 : +3% @ 815Hp / +0% @ 830Kg = 0.982 Hp/Kg
905 : +15% @ 918Hp / +0% @ 750Kg = 1.224 Hp/Kg

General Rules:
Standard OLR Rules apply
Try to keep 2 wheels on track at all times in the race (Rumble strips are classed as track)
No wall contact, no cheating, no hybrids etc, etc
AI contact is allowed, but NO penalties are allowed
Always stay within the 'spirit' of the rules

Track Specific Rules:
ALL tarmac areas are allowed!

As in the last race (and throughout the series) an occasional off is to be expected in races of this length, and are not a reason for binning a race as long as you do not gain any time from them.

Duration:
numberoneaq1bvm2.gif

Starts: Friday 10th August. Ends: Sunday 26th August @ 23:59.999 GMT
Therefore you have 2 weekends to complete both qualifying and the race.
Please PM your qualifying / Race time & fastest lap-time for your chosen car to myself (Tyre King) before the deadline. (Format at bottom of page)

Final Words:
You are free, in-fact actively encouraged, to discuss split times but NOT lap times in qualifying, and you can discuss fastest lap times in the race, just not your final times.
You are also encouraged to give details on tyre-wear, handling, and anything else relating to the cars.

But above all, have fun.

Any problems, just PM either myself or Phil and we will sort it ASAP.

Let's have at it!

Del is taking the 'try two cars this race once in a life time' option 👍 .. in the hope that he might end up finding a better car :sly:

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!

I thought it might help you guys decide whether or not to vote for the race's extension.
If I tell you that, the Le Mans race coming up in two races time, is going to have an extended deadline!

So if we clash with the GTPLMS races, we will only do so for this race (if extended), and the next one at Midfield. After that we will return to normal service.

Neil

Del has already completed his race in 2 cars .. and the second car did ----- ------ ----- ----- ---- ------- so i'm going to ----- ---- --- the C9 :)

Guys!
I know there are only 7-8 of us racing this series, but only 4 have voted.

I'm gonna rule summarily based on how I feel about it, unless you tell me what you would like.

Neil

Try and make your ruling within 1 hour pls MR TYRE KING :crazy:.. packing my bags for some V8 touring car racing to-morrow , then up the coast for some fishing {work stuff after that}
... im easy with whatever you decide .. kinda enjoying Autumn Ring for the 1st ever in the meantime

Yup!

Suppose you are right Marty!

In the finest traditions of Arcade racing games.......

TIME EXTENDED!!!!!!

New deadline is : 23:59.999 26th August!

Neil

Haven't been on here for awhile. My girlfriend's father passed away so, I was close to him, besides the terrible loss and having her relatives stay with me here, I haven't felt like racing - glad to see an extension was decided upon. I'm taking off from work next week as well, so I should have plenty of time to put in quality laps.

till then,
Phil 👍

Just a reminder!

Times need to be in by midnight tomorrow night (GMT), 01:00 BST, 19:00 CST.

One set of times in from Marty (Thanks mate) so far!👍

Neil

Managed a 3-stopper in the Jaguar. 3xRS & 1xRM. I did see a best lap of 1'05.250 but ended up crashing seven laps after that best lap - so, it will not be official. Times submitted.

Phil 👍

3 hours 22 mins till deadline guys, only two lots received so far!

Neil

Hey we all get loads of points!!!!

And yes Marty, you we one of them.

I'll post the results later today, it's a bank holiday over here, so holiday stuff to do (BBQ etc).

VERY disappointed in the turnout though the rest of you! :grumpy:

Neil

RESULTS (For what they are worth) are posted in #2!

Neil

Congrats to those on the podium {esp' the old bloke on the top step}

Bring on the next race ! i suspect the 88CV might get a better result on a track where it can stretch its legs , nevertheless , Del will be using the C9 .

Great times for the podium finishers  Congratulations!!

I hate to say it, but after much deliberation, I may have to abandon my beloved Jaguar for a more competitive car.

NEW thread will go up in the morning (GMT)

I regret this delay, but RL got in the way.

I hope you all understand?:guilty:

Neil
