I'm for Cutting the distance in halve. 2 is difficult enough and at least 5 is in striking distance.

Glad you posted that comment RACECAR .. can we get clarification please NEIL ?

Distance is HALVED! 5 laps only now!

As Racecar say, 2 is hard, 5 is do-able, 10 is too difficult.

Neil

Those are INSANE times there Cam! I am ashamed to say that I am hitting T10 in the same time you are going through T11!
The Sauber is a really nice car to drive on a smooth-ish track, but here, it is a complete b;tch-kitty!:ouch:
It under-steers into the slower corners with bumps, it over-steers out of EVERY corner with bumps, it spins at the mini-karrusell (Schwalbenschwantz) for absolutely no reason..............basically it's a bleeding nightmare!

This is going to be a super-hard challenge, for all.Neil

Agreed .. theres no joy to found driving the C9 on the Nurb .. especially after completing 500+ laps on the High Speed Ring .

EDIT .. i enter/exit both karrusells from the top side [bitumen]

Man .. what a frustrating drive , my fastest T11 .. 05:34.xxx .

Times sent , partly because its the first ever symmetric time ive ever had {in over 20 years .. real racing or otherwise}

Agreed ... RACECAR should be hit with a weight penalty :sly:

Well, managed 30 odd laps and finally got a set of 5 clean on tape. Reviewing the tape revealed plenty of areas where mistakes were made, but my time on the track is up, so sending the times in now. Good luck, all. 👍

ERacer

Times submitted.

Tough race. My best run was very nearly ended by a lapped Toyota 88CV spinning in front of me. It must've gotten stuck somewhere cos it was a long way behind.

Pffft, please! You guys can barely keep your mercs on track. I doubt that'll help you guys out:sly:

JUST, finished my first clean run!

Fairly happy with it, ran RM/RH's for the first two stints of two laps, then RS/RM for the final lap.
Managed to get a 5'24.xxx T11 on the last lap, which for me is amazing. (I am a self confessed lover of the 'Ring, but that in no way means I am any good there)

Good luck guys, and those that haven't sent in times yet.......50 mins to go!

Neil

Collating the results now, and waiting on Racecar double checking his submission time.

Neil

Times Double checked and sent.

RESULTS UP IN POST #1!

Yeah, Yeah!

I have now spotted the mistakes! Thanks mate.

It WAS 2am when I was doing the results, and for some reason Excell decided that was how Sauber should be spelled and I didn't spot it.
And as to you qualifying in the Sauber, I was moving names about in the grid, and forgot to switch the cars about too! :dunce:

Never mind, I may do the changes and re-post the tables, but you all get the idea. None of the times or places are wrong, so it doesn't effect the points at all.

Hey, I'm only human you know ( Well, mostly anyway! )

Neil

Wow, this is awesome! and congrats to everyone that stayed and raced the rest of this season. I just noticed this is the forth championship in a row that I have won in its inaugural season(GTPLMS, GTPGTS, and FGT). However, looking at the Clio Cup, looks like this is where the streak ends.

Say, do you guys fancy a Group C invitational in the spot race forums? I had in mind Circuit De La Sarthe, but I want you guys to tell me whether you want it with or without the chicanes.

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched mate!

There are still two races to go! I said that I would carry this on because of the support I got from you guys earlier in the thread!

Ah, I do remember you saying that. When and where is it?

Yeh I guessed that. I was just pointing it out incase you hadn't noticed. Excel seems to like the spelling Suaber its done it a few times... Hasn't it:sly:

Haha never mind. Seoul should be good.

Its been a while and you haven't put up a race, friend. Its it over?

And on a less-serious note:

I just won the car and took it for a spin on this track and its actually fun to drive. You have to be gentle with the car, even while your pushing to the limt. I got a decent 5'22.768 on default settings, but I'm gonna see if I can get near my fastest qualifying time, then I'll test it at Circuit De La Sarthe.

Edit: Got a 5'16.213, very close to my qualifying time from the Toyota in the series settings. Heading to Circuit De La Sarthe now.

Hahahaha, I nominate this as one of your best quotes of 2007:D

Can we please not do any races until after the festive period? I'm at home now but me being the clever one that I am forgot to take my PS2 home with me.

During the break in this series, I was given the opportunity to drive the Peugeot 905 at la Sarthe I. I was pleasantly surprised by the car's speed compared to the rest of the C-class field which on this race day included the Nissans R89C and R92C, Toyota 88C-V, Sauber C9 and Audi R8.

Our Peugeot was stock without any HP or Kg adjustments on test day. Like the other cars, we also had on RM/RM tires. Our gearbox was set to 440 for this day at la Sarthe. Even with the relatively slow gearbox changes, the 409 sliced and slipstreamed through the field with ease and by end of lap 6 had settled into the lead. Pitted after seven, but should probably have pitted one lap earlier. Our crew advised me the 905 likes to drink, heavily - but I need to compare notes with the other drivers to make a better judgement.

All in all, the Pug is great fun to drive once you get over the lagging gearbox. 👍

I may be able to test this again in Seoul but will, of course, only submit times for this season's car, the 787B.

The season is done mate, but NOT, I repeat, NOT, the series.

I'm gathering my fractured mojo back together after the Xmas/birthday period, and planning..................

I love the format and the cars, so am loathed to see it die, it will return in a little while.
Rest assured!

Thanks for the support! 👍

Neil

Well, in that case - congratulations to RACECAR for winning Season I of the Historic 'C' Class Championship. And congratulations as well to both Tyre King and Delfino for winning second and third place respectively. 👍

I missed out on a couple of great races this season which I regret but looking forward to Season II and a chance to race against you all again.

Best of luck in your current events and let's hope for a great second season of 'C' class racing!

Thank you for making this series happen:tup: And I feel like ever since I've competed in a series for the first time without driving aids, it feels like I've gotten better at driving. I've learned to be much more smoother and oddly enough, Its helped not just on GT4 but also on my other PS2 games.

Yes congrats to you Racecar. It was good to race against you and see that I was keeping you almost honest at some points haha.

I am now back with my PS2 and so will be able to take part in races again when they are developed. I am still undecided as to what to do car-wise. I originally decided on the Nissan because no-one was using it but to perfectly honest it isn't the best car at all.

I'd like to thank my buddy Neil for picking up the Historic 'C' Class Championship after Nitro felt he was no longer able to manage this great series. My name appears in the banner as a co-presenter of this series, but really, it's all Neil's great work. 👍

Between getting married, a baby on the way, participating in other series, oh - and work, I honestly don't know where he found the time in his busy schedule to collect our lap times, verify race results, post results and handicap the drivers for the next race.

I love these cars and I'm very grateful for the chance to race them in this series. Looking forward to the next season.

Thanks Neil!

Aww Shucks!, it wern't nowt! :O

Glad to be able to provide the series you guys want to race in.
