Welcome gentlemen, to what may be the final round of this series. The turnout has not been as good as I had hoped (even with a couple of extra driver's being drafted in over the last few rounds):indiff:
I regret having to say this, but the series is going to be decided by who has raced the most rounds and not by the best performances, so I feel that it is a better thing to go out with a bang, than with a whimper.:(

That being said, I have really enjoyed running this series, (even with it's up's and down's) and I hope you all enjoy the scenic vistas of the Green Hell.👍

"sigh" I hate it when people sign up only to leave and not say anything. Its because of these slackers that great series like this come crashing down. I'm gonna finish this great series and finish it with three great drivers who are commited to running in this great series. It sadly Looks as if just like the real series, Group C is about to die out, but I thank TK and ERacer for thinking up this great series.

Thats a damn shame. You'd think that people would want to race in a series like this and be serious about it. Admittedly circumstances in RL prohibit taking part but when folks just sign up and then nothing...

Thanks for the kind words Cam ( & GTvet), it IS a great shame to see this series go down. But with only 3-4 submissions per race, and realistically only yourself and I running all of the races so far......?

I know that Drew and JR had problems beyond their control (and basically didn't start the series), and so did Phil over the last few weeks (Sorry mate), but really there should have been more regular participation from the regulars.

Maybe it's the format, or the cars involved, or the race lengths. But I just took what Nitro set up, and ran with it. At least it got further than previous attempts with these cars.

Good thing is, it gave me something to cut my teeth on, before I started thinking about the WES, and I am determined that, that one isn't going to go down.

It's too good an idea!

Never mind eh? Finish it off with a bang, not a whimper!👍

Del will be taking the C9 to the Northern Loop .. and by the 2nd of December .. you'll all know exactly what the C9's exhaust pipes look like .

Sorry i missed the last race , but RL got in the way .

A great race series .. and in case the race directors are interested .. Del will sign for a second series {if there is one}

Well, Lets get show going. First splits today:

T1: 0'34.638

T2: 0'59.625

T3: 1'21.572

T4: 2'00.397

T5: 2'29.601

T6: 2'49.189

T7: 3'27.770

T8: 3'59.796

T9: 4'16.675

T10: 4'50.219

T11: 5'07.798

Surprisingly, its easier then I imagined to drive this car here though the bumps are the only hurdles I see.

Well, How is everyone else doing?

Is this going to be because we'll be either side of you?

I will also sign up for a second series. I find nothing wrong with the format. It works well. Its just the people that sign up and aren't able (or bothered) to carry on with it.

I too will sign up for the second season. In fact, I'll even give you the reserve list of us commited racers:

Code:
GT veteran
RACECAR
Delfino
Tyre King
Theres some racers you can count on.

Delfino
Del will be taking the C9 to the Northern Loop ..

Hehehehe, I think thats the only loop available isn't it?:sly:

Sorry guys:( im not going to be able to do this. Thanksgiving week and we are leaving wednesday for a 5 hour trip to my grandparents house and we wont leave till saturday. Besides the fact that I cant run 3 series just like that I only have time for 2. Stupid school also interferes. But depending on what other series might pop up in the future im still interested in staying with the series.

Thanks for the support guys! 👍

I'll keep it going till the end of the season then! And, I'll look at doing it for another one too!👍

As long as there are guys that will run in it regularly, I'll do it. I just got a little depressed by the drop-out rate, and seeming lack of interest.:(

Better now!:)

Neil

Change of plans. It appears that when I was leaving was actually when my dad was leaving. So really im leaving Thursday and not getting back till Saturday

Well, How is everyone else doing?

Those are INSANE times there Cam! I am ashamed to say that I am hitting T10 in the same time you are going through T11!
The Sauber is a really nice car to drive on a smooth-ish track, but here, it is a complete b;tch-kitty!:ouch:
It under-steers into the slower corners with bumps, it over-steers out of EVERY corner with bumps, it spins at the mini-karrusell (Schwalbenschwantz) for absolutely no reason..............basically it's a bleeding nightmare!

To get more than an out-lap and an in-lap out of the tyres you have to put hard fronts and super-hard rears on the b;tch, otherwise you are either in the pits every lap or every other.

This is going to be a super-hard challenge, for all.

I actually almost had that same problem in Schwalbenschwantz just as I ws coming out the end, but I lightly got back on the power. Seems like you sauber might be more of a beast then my Toyota is. I'm gonna win the FGT championship to get the Sauber, then I'll give it a try and see what you have to deal with.

I'm gonna hate that so much as its gonna kill the smoothness and the confort I have, but I have no choice if I'm to become victorious.

Indeed. Whoever does win this race, nevermind the championship, is truly the master of Group C.

I also did better than I expected to. The times from this lap are not bad considering it was a very messy lap.

T1: 35.222
T2: 1'01.572
T3: 1'25.874
T4: 2'07.329
T5: 2'37.510
T6: 2'56.797
T7: 3'35.701
T8: 4'08.371
T9: 4'28.447
T10: 5'02.700
T11: 5'20.321

This is the first chance I've had this week to get on GT and for my first lap this was pretty good. I think its my personal best so far but my last effort in a Group C car was very poor. The race should be good fun.

Hey Neil/Phil .. need something to do ? ... where is the points table for this series ?

The championship results table goes up every week mate, along with the rest of the results!

Look closely HERE! ;)

New splits today:

T1: 0'33.236

T2: 0'57.580

T3: 1'19.136

T4: 1'56.752

T5: 2'25.247

T6: 2'43.757

T7: 3'21.039

T8: 3'52.535

T9: 4'09.349

T10: 4'40.500

T11: 4'58.140

I am officially at my most confortable yet. I'm still having a bit of problems at the first carousel, but I'm so much quicker elsewhere.

I've heard that from my friends as well. I find the Karussel easy. When braking let the car run out to the wall and then drop down on to the concrete and then ease it around. Ease being the operative word there. And then when you can see the exit power on and over the crest in the road in a similar fashion to the entry. It does seem slow but its the only way.

OK, it's official!

RACECAR is to receive a -10% power and +10% weight penalty, for being a smart-arse ring-rat!

NOT KIDDING! :D

No-one likes a smart-arse!

Thats what all racecar drivers look like but believe you me they're nothin but hot air. Fact.

I think I'm inhaling only about 7 or 8 times each lap. Rest of the lap I'm holding my breath and probably exhaling very slowly and strangely, as if I were constipated or in pain - this race is incredibly difficult to stay clean and more so to master. No worthy splits to report so far.

ERacer

It is especially difficult towards the end of the second lap when the rear tyres have gone off. You just get thrown into the wall. Are we actually allowed to use Super Hards in this race?

It says in the rules that you may use RS/RM/RH tyres!

But if you want to use RSH, I don't see the problem.

They will give you less grip, and cause the traction control to cut in more often, and therefor slow you down.

So the answer is YES, but I wouldn't recommend them! For the first three or four splits where you want to get past the AI, you have absolutely NO rear grip whatsoever!

But, it's your choice.

I'll amend the rules in the first post, and I think I'm also going to give another week for all of us to do this one. You are right, it's a REALLY hard race, and is maybe overly difficult to complete.

Sorry guys, but I just went with what Nitro set up. Maybe I should have thought about it and halved the distance?

QUESTION!

Extention OR half the laps?

Neil

Answer : As Del still hasn't turned a wheel at the Nurb yet .. i'll agree with the majority {Dels car is ready and his all girl pit crew are eagerly awaiting his arrival to the circuit}

Halving the distance isn't goin to change the fact that the tyres are still going off just over half way round the second lap. Once they've gone there is literaly no control when the car spins out. It may well be worth going with mediums on the back and pitting at the end of every lap. I haven't tried this yet it may well be just as bad.

If you want to go with an extension then go for it but I was quite happy to do it for this week. I very nearly did it for last week haha.

Considering NEIL's comments regarding his Sauber , i'm kinda hesitant , but still looking forward to what i hope will be ten laps of pure joy in the C9 ... will post some splits in the morning .
