I would've thought the only reason they bought it over now is because it's not doing well or going down hill but from all the stuff I've heard it sounds like everyone still loves it. I haven't heard anyones say anything bad about it yet.

As for the Yaris once again they retarded it before bringing it here. Thank god Honda didn't with the FIT. Not to mention it doesn't really make sense cost wise to drastically change it when all the existing stuff would be new here. :dopey:
Yeah, I still hate that center guage cluster on the Yaris... I won't start that conversation again, lol.

I absolutely love the Fit. I was thinking about getting a Civic coupe when I get my degree for my first car, but I may get this instead. It would either be a fully loaded Fit Sport, or a Civic coupe DX-G with no options - I think I'll go for the Fit, plus I'll have more disposable income to waste elsewhere, lol.

It's just so cool. I know it's been out for a while everywhere else, but I guess it's just because it wasn't offered here that I didn't pay much attention to it before. It has so many options and features for its class, that it's mind boggling. Plus, as a safety buff, side airbags, side curtain airbags, and ABS as standard - you can't beat that in this segment :)

I'll have to get the 5AT with paddle shifting, yeah, I know it's still an automatic, but I can pretend I have a 950 hp Honda V10 behind me as a shift through the gears ;) (until an SUV cuts me off, that is) lol.

Is the Sport model available without the AT? I’d like some of the niceties the Sport model brings (specifically the keyless remote entry and cruise control), but I’d also like to row my own gears.

Yeah, I'm thinking of this for my first car after college too well... more like when I find that non-existant career. :dopey:

Anyway, I'll take either of these.

As for the AT I don't see the facination with F1 because this is far from it and I guess I'm old school but I'd rather have a manual.

According to PR you can shove the RSX 200hp engine in it too.

I just realized these maybe of the Jazz and I don't know why they have two different names but Jazz is really gay and I'm glad they didn't use it here.

What's up with all the "gay" comments? Some people... Well, Honda could call it whatever they wanted. If Jazz sounds "gay," then we can all appreciate a beautiful series of Nissans called "Silvia." Of course, my true love would be a blue or silver Silvia S15 Spec-R Aero. Damn shame that the S15 never made it to America.

The Fit/Jazz should actually be quite fun. In fact, fun and functional. I like thinking of certain machines like the Fit/Jazz as a very small van, much like the highly-hated xB was intended to be. If you ask me, I think this car will do VERY well in America. I guesss in a time in which many people could choose either a van or an SUV or a van-SUV crossover, this is a nice alternative. I think of this as a baby van. You may not be able to fit seven people or have stowaway folding seats (or whatever they are called), but it's still every bit as functional. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a handful of "grocery getter" comments about it.

In terms of Spoon Sports' contributions of turning a Honda Fit/Jazz into a race car, I've gathered this collection of websites to show off Spoon Sports' awesome Fit as well as aspirations to be used in racing perhaps:

So, it should be a hot car for a number of consumers with a number of different tastes.

You guys should really get the CVT version.
Dunno why honda decided to use the 5-speed tho.

There is even a sedan version sold in japan and SEA but looks uglier.

And yes, the 2L type-r engine can be fitted.

The sedan version may look like absolute ****, but it's a nice car. And you can fit two dead bodies in the trunk (humongous)... that's got to count for something.

There is a sedan version? And i couldn't put my Girlfiend in the back (she is small), so I don't know how you can put to bodies in there. Are you talking about the same car?

You tried to put your girlfriend in the trunk of a Honda Fit??? Murder!

The sedan version, which probably won't make it to the US. Has a trunk that's worth about 500 liters of cargo capacity. For comparison, Mazda3 - 323 liters, Toyota Corolla - 390 liters, Toyota Camry - 473 liters. Trust me... the sedan's trunk is huge.

The local SPL record holder has one as a show car. The trunk is stuffed to the gills with more subwoofers and amps than you could reasonably fit into mine and still has space for a week's worth of groceries. Of course, he stuck the thing on dubs... so he doesn't take it to the grocery store very often.

The car reminds me a lot of the old MKII Golf: Small, and sporty. It may not have all the power in the world, but youll have a gas driving it from point A to point B...

Damn thats a huge ass trunk. I've seen the inside of the Mazda 3's trunk and thought it was huge for the car's size....

 One can only hope. If my money doesn't stretch to the five door hatch by the end of the year, I'm thinking of getting the sedan, as it's about a thousand dollars cheaper.

No way am I letting my wife learn how to drive on the Protege. That car is for daddy only.

It was great fun down the country lanes. I could really throw it about. And cruising on the motorway, it was very comfortable. At one point I looked at the speedo and realised I was doing 95. It really didn't feel like I was going that fast.

Haven't driven it extensively. Just a few quick runs around the block and on economy runs. Great fun seeing who can get closest to 70mpg. Last run we did, some woman got 68mpg (We did 55) in traffic. One guy got over 100 mpg on the highway. But he was insane, had a good tailwind, and a very very steady right foot.

These were the 1.3 iDSi (dual spark gasoline), though. I think the US market is only getting the 1.5 VTEC.

Am I the only person that has driven one?

That's nice. :)

I've driven all the 4 versions available in Brazil: the 1.4 liter i-DSi (manual & CVT) and the 1.5 liter VTEC that you yanks will be driving (manual & CVT). And I must say that, although CVT is comfortable, that thing sucks if you want to drive hard (not to mention the engine shrieking weeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee at constant 5000 RPMs).

My personal choice is, definately, the 5-speed manual. The clutch is light as a feather, the transmission is fantastic, gear changes are smooth and silent, and the shifter travel is short and it's light and very precise. The kind of thing you should expect from Honda...

For those of you looking for a better pic of the Fit Sedan (also known as Fit Aria or Honda City), here ya go!

I think this front-end looks nice... If someone decides to mod a Fit hatch and use this look, it's bound to look cool (specially with a more euro-style wheels and aero parts).

The coupe would be an oddly cute, but awesome little car.

Hmm, do they still make Beats?

Why can't we get one of those over here, with a fixed roof, and an SI engine?
