Hello folks!
I wanted to share with you guys a bit of a sob story (for me
).
When I first discovered Kudos and the GT Sport Stats site (http://www.jasonguernsey.net), I came to a very surprising, yet pleasant discovery. I was ranked 4th in Driver Rating in my country, Iceland. In itself it's not a huge accomplishment as Iceland is very small and the niche market of simracing isn't large here, but it was a fun discovery.
I, proudly, announce this to my friends, some of which play GTS as well, that I'm the 4th best GTS racer in Iceland! What a feat! I revelled in this newfound glory and set my path to become Top 3, and eventually I wanted to become number one. I felt this was realistically possible due to the small player base here and I believe I'm a fairly competent driver.
At the time of this discovery I was DR.B, just over 50% towards DR.A. I had recently got a couple of podium finishes at DR.B and was at the height of my powers, or so I thought. After revealing this, however, I've almost been in freefall and now I'm sitting at a low DR.C. I had 12.262 DR points at best, but now I've sunk to only 5.878.
My last race, from last night (Daily B, Gr.3 @ Yamagiwa) was (I hope) the climax to this downfall. I qualified #7 out of 16, and less then a second seperated the top 10 so I was expecting a great tight race. And so it was! Although at the start of the race, for some reason my car had max brake input for the first 2 seconds, although I had my foot flooring the gas. This made me fall down to 10th place before the first corner. However, I race hard and gain positions, up to 6th place. I and the 6th place guy were having quite a tight battle, and I was having a blast. Then it happens, third last corner on last lap .. I have a minor spin out and lose my chance of 6th place. I figure, hey, it's ok, finishing 7th. I cruise to the next corner, and BOOM, I spin out again and my car faces opposite direction. When trying to quickly get back to track, I spin again due to too aggressive throttle. I drop to 14th place and take a big DR hit. The rage was very real, as witnessed by my Race Photo share last night at the moment of the second spin out:
Now, here is my DR development according to Kudos:
The sad part is that the downfall is mostly due to my own driver errors and mistakes, just like in my last race, although there were a couple of races where I got rammed repeatedly, but mostly the races were clean, being at SR.S. So I have no one to blame but myself (and of course the GT Gods!
)
Currently I sit at #13 in my country ranking for Driver Rating, but I'm focused on getting back to former glory!
Take this as a word of warning, don't make my mistake and gloat, the GT Gods will reign fire upon thee!
Any positive vibes to the cosmos, aimed at me, are greatly appreciated!

Sorry for long post, I tend to ramble
Good day to you all!
