I wonder how much of an effect the 200 extra horses have on the 0-250Mph time which is supposed to be around 50 seconds, & what a 0-270Mph time looks like.

Is it possible to de-limit a Veyron, like is it as easy as a standard luxury car and would it affect your warranty?

... talking like i'm buying one!

You would have to get some special plugs to do so, and they would cost a stupid amount of money. Only Bugatti can do that, so i would say its almost impossible!

Would love to see this baby against the Eurofighter :D

It would probably win this time:sly:!

I'm sure Mansory or god forbid, Hennessey could do it as well since they both claim to have tuning setups for the Veyron 16.4.

Didnt knew about that! I bet any Veyron can get 1200hp with only a new ECU map, and wount cost 500.000 dollars or so !

EDIT: And a paint job ! Il be generous... somewhere between 5.000 to 10.000 dollars will do the trick;)! The map and paint job, that is!

I'm suprised and impressed, the Veyron Supersport is now the fastest car around the TopGear track. I didn't expect much of a difference in lap times to the standard one since the extra power is pretty much for the higher speeds. Then again it is 50kg lighter and more aerodynamic too. Impressive anyway.

I can't tune my Civic for $500. You think you can tune a Veyron for that?

It'd be pretty difficult to put half a mil into a Civic as well

Ah, well. Hard enough to understand if he's saying it won't cost the $500,000 extra of the SS or that it wouldn't cost more than $500 to tune it.

So now it officially does everything best?
I don't know, it doesn't make toast, question the meaning of it's existence or sing.

I wonder if anyone will get that.

Given that God is infinite, and that the universe is also infinite... would you like a toasted teacake?

;)

I think Top Gear's claim that it was created with the sole purpose of being the fastest production car on the planet isn't quite right. It was also meant to be more dynamic aided by the weight loss and this appears to have been achieved.

The last time I had toast was actually about 17 days ago, oddly 👍.

I agree, I think that the speed is once again just one factor about this car. It's more exclusive, just as luxurious and has a different exterior to the standard Veyron. I tihnk the speed was the biggest single factor, but still just one factor. Apparently clients have been asking for a Supersport version for a long time.

VW has worked a miracle: Not only have they've gotten a 2.5 ton bison to go nearly 270mph, but they finally got it to go around the TG test track faster than any other car. And it weighs about as much as the two cars below it combined.

They really ought to have removed all the luxury crap and made this one lighter.

When Bugatti does this, I will like them.

Weight has no effect on top speed. And the TG lap is impressive, but in no way conclusive. Driven on the same day, it may not be the fastest. Also, the TG track is kind of fast.

Faster than any other car on the official lap board that's run a time. Which doesn't include the newer Zondas, the 458, a Caterham on good tires and a warm track, an Ultima, a Noble on a dry track, a Caparo T1 (d'qed because it's not "useable on the road"... come on... how many Bugatti owners trailer their cars around?), a McLaren 412... etcetera... etcetera... etcetera...

It's a fantastic result, though... much akin the the GT-R running sub 7:30s on the Nurb... but not really a record in and of itself.

The 458 should make a lap this season on Top Gear as should the Spyker Alerion and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cinque and I wouldn't be surprised to see the McLaren 412, either. However, I don't think we'll see a faster time until the Ferrari F70 comes in 2015

Um, only the 458 will make an appearance this season. The rest of those cars probably won't be tested until Season 16, minus the Cinque.

When you consider how much every mile you drive in the Veyron costs you down the road in maintenance, I'm pretty sure I'd want to be swaddled in the most luxurious cabin possible for the car rather than an off-the-shelf Recaro shared with an Evo and a plastic interior to match.

Yep, the Veyron is so special because it isn't just assembled from a load of parts from a parts bin, it's a special, luxurious, comfortable speed machine that took a lot of hard work and money. It deserves it's great reputation, it's like the motoring equivalent of Concorde.

It is amazingly fast, It makes Porsche's look like Nissan Micra's. It would be one of my greatest moment's in life if I ever got to have a ride in a Veyron and I can't wait to get my hands on one in GT5.

Still can't outrun ugly.

I've said that already, though.

Much like the Cayenne... yes, it's annoyingly fast... it's amazingly good off-road and in the sand for being so luxurious... and yet... it doesn't stir my loins.

The Veyron doesn't do it for me. I'll probably walk out of one with a gigantic smile plastered to my face if I ever get a drive... but it's just not desirable in the sense that you want to park it in your bedroom to ogle it all day.

I like the Veyron, but I happen to like other cars so much more. Why? Well, I pose a question to you:

Did they have to make it so blobby? It looks like a gob of fat driving down the road, then there's the stupid train grill. Why didn't they make the car chiseled and sexy? I will freely admit it may look less ugly to some people, but I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who thinks the Veyron is sexy. They could have made it look like a Koenigsegg, Zonda, Lamborghini, and a Ferrari all rolled into one stiffy inducing package, it's obvious they had the time and money.

Perhaps they didn't want to make it look like a bunch of other cars? If there's one thing about the Veyron's looks, its that its unique to pretty much anything. I don't think they're ugly. Not particularly beautiful either. Its kind of a classier take on the hypercar. I mean they could've made it all aggressive looking and plastered "QUAD TURBO 1000HP" in more places than my Civic says VTEC (okay, so its only two...), but that just wouldn't be right.
