The PS2 version supports 900 degree mode on the DFP. If it doesn't automatically select 900 mode when you start up the system, then it'll be an option in the controllers menu.

Personally, i've never driven U2 with a wheel, because the handling is a joke at the best of times. It's gamepad fun... but when i use a wheel i want realism. It's kinda like driving burnout x with a wheel, you just don't do it! ;p

Well actually I posted a new thread for pple who use the Logitec Driving Force (Non Pro) But I guess it was declined.

I'd like to know how many of you pple are using it coz I am. It seems that I'm Always understeering even at very low speeds.

Or do I suck =P hahaha

Does GT4 only support 900deg? If not, how can I change it to 200 deg?

Thanks tallinov, for your offer (that driving force of yours) maybe I'll buy it, is THAT steering wheel lots of fun or does someone know if there's a HUGE difference between the 2 wheels? And to tallinov, I already found one on marktplaats.nl for 100,- but I don't really thrust that, there just HAS to be something wrong if you sell it for almost 50 euro's cheaper 👍
But if there's really no big difference in the 2 wheels I will buy yours :)

I bought a DFP yesterday and the only I can say is... oh my ****ing god!!!!! Now I don't know how could I play GT3 while 3 years without a wheel... It works perfect with GT3, GT4P, Toca2, R:Racing, NFSU:2, Burnout3...

...but only GT4P and GT4 are ready for 900 degree mode, the rest of the games aren't ready for it. Well, it's possible to switch to 900º mode, but it's far to be as realistic as GT4P... bcuz if you switch 900º mode in a 200º ready game, you have to steer a lot more but Force Feedback doesn't change, so it's hard to steer even when you're steering only a bit...

Actually, according to Logitech the following games support 900* mode:

Flatout™ by Empire Interactive
Gran Turismo® 4 by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
Need for Speed Underground® 2 by Electronic Arts
Richard Burns Rally™ by SCi Games
Street Racing Syndicate™ by Empire Interactive
Test Drive® Eve of Destruction by Atari
TOCA Race Driver™ 2 by Codemasters

Toca Race Driver 2 must be the playstation2 version to support 900..
because i own toca 2 for PC and it doesnt support 900...even when you switch to 900 mode ,its not realistic as you need to do ALOT of steering work..

so hopefully Toca Race Driver 2 should be the ps2 version to support it

IAG in another thread
DFP settings: SIMULATION, No assisted steering, Power steering.

Is it possible to change the setting between power-steering and "normal" (unpowered) steering in GT4??

What is the effect? Is there a difference in initial strength of force feedback and in neutral zone?

Great!! The only difference is that the force wheel doesn't support 900 degrees mode...But after reading this topic....I 900 degrees is something that some people don't really like...let's say it this way...
I had lots of fun with it...and If I couldn't get my hands on a pro wheel cheap...i certainly never bought it....

You can contact me FGCJanssen@hotmail.com

It's yours for 40 euro's now :)

I'm NOT SURE YET though, I get so many different anwsers to my question if it's worth it, because if I'll buy yours then the DFP will not be available to me for another 2 years or so. So if you hear of someone else that wants to buy it too, you'll probably want to sell it to him because I think I won't know if I'll do it for another MONTH so.................:irked: :)

Got mine yesterday and the first thing I did was TURNED OFF ACTIVE STEERING (not stability control, that's completely different). Man that crap was messing me up. It surprised me even more that I hadn't noticed it until now. For those who don't know, in the steering menu, there's an option called "Active Steering" which is on by default. What is does is make slight to mild steering inputs to stabilize the car in oversteering and other potential race ending situations. I now know why every drift I attempted or any time I pushed the car hard I was always over correcting, it was because the game was making the same correction I was. I hated the wheel until I found the option to turn active steering on. The difference is amazing. My times in all licenses have dropped enough to get a lot of gold and silver where I only had bronze before. Drifts are now easy to execute and hold for a very long time. Once the tail is out, you basically just correct quickly to the point where resistance starts and make slight corrections while controlling the drift with the throttle, just like in real life (i.e. not the numb trial-and-error method you have to use with the DualShock2 to find the correct steering angle to hold the drift). I can directly compare the feel of driving an E46 M3 in the game to the one I have in the driveway. I've participated in numerous auto-x's and track days in my real M3 and I can say the effort of steering, the feel of the g forces working against you, and the range of wheel steering is spot on. If all the other cars are as accurately modeled (physics and steering-wise), they've got an utter master piece on their hands.

I was thinking in some racing seat for DFP, I have seen GamePod:

GamePod

But the TV stand seems me too high (worst with a more big TV).

Someone here have it?

What do you think?

My DFP just arrived (at work) so I can't wait to get home to try it (only5 hours.. ish to go). Then I'll need to figure out the best way to anchor it... cheapy. Current favourite would be to use an armchair with wooden arm and somehow non-permanently attach a suitable piece of wood on the arms that the wheel could be attached to. There is no way I am paying out large sums of money to get a custom seat and mounting for it.

Here are two cheap alternatives that you may want to take a look at:

1. Gamestand
2. Game Frame

Hope this helps?

I have a question about the DFP.
I have been using the DFP on my PC for quite some time now, without any problems. I also used
the logitech MOMO racing and installed the driver on my pc.
Due to this driver I was able to use the DFP on my computer.
3 weeks ago I sold my MOMO racing (and driver install cd).
About that time I started to use another computer and the problems began.
Everytime I use my DFP on my computer (with RBR, GTR, FlatOut and Insane) the games don't perform as fluendly as it should (like it did before).
Most of the time the games freeze for about half a second, it jolts all the time. When I use the keyboard everything is allright, no problems.

I downloaded the driver from logitech, mentioned by Darin.
I installed directX 9.0c, logitech driver and I already changed "HYPER THREADING" in the BIOS.
I also changed the pots in the pedalbox (and back to the originals).

Can somebody help me????

The TV stand looks fine to me. If you have a widescreen TV it would be just about perfect. You don't want to have the wheel blocking the screen, and you need to have the TV close enough, so it feels like a proper cockpit.

OK, I am going to order the wheel now! And am going to order a Play Seat aswell! By the way, what is so great about this 900 degree turning circle? is it supposed to be the same as driving a real car yes? I am a driver by the way. I am going to order now regardless anyway. I have a chipped PAL PS2 running Japanese GT 4. Will I be able to use the wheel and 900 degree turning?

PS. Cant wait for PAL 2 player garages!

PlaySeat is not very solid, with the DFP 900 degree and hard force feedback it's very disappointed :guilty:

Perhaps you would must seek a more robust alternative (only a suggestion)
