don't worry. GT3 was not made from 900o mode. Gt4 is and it works greats.

Well, maybe this problem shouldn't occure if it came to your driving style, cause if you must drive a smooth line in order to go fast, you don't let the wheel go so suddenly, and with drifting you need to countesteer slowly, so how do you drive??
I haven't got any experience with steering wheels too, so this is no comment but more affraid for it cause I'm thinking of buying it too, so I wanna keep hope for the wheel and "blame"your driving maybe because I'm so desperate about that DFP, I REALLY WANT IT.
So I hope it isn't THAT bad if you keep a bit of a smooth line................but IS it that bad:scary::scary:

buy it!!!! 👍 It is perfect and with that new LGS460 driver it is even more perfect!!! :)

n00b question.

Can someone explain drivers to me. What are drivers? How do they work? How do you get them? What is the LGS460 driver? Please inform me.....

Drivers are the software that allows your computer/ps2/whatever communicate with hardware (such as the DFP, or a video card, or keyboard). Those logitech drivers are for your COMPUTER to use with the DFP. If you don't play any racing games on your computer, you don't need them.

so how much better is the DFP in GT4 over GT3? I'm very eager to find out the differance in play style, Today im going to work on my pod. 2 more days!!!!!

Oh so drivers are for PC only? I dont even have any PC racing games.....

Oh, and I am also eager to see the differnce in the DFP's performance with GT4!

im sure i remember reading in a thread that gt4 changes the amount of turning required to give full lock between cars. Ok, im finding this hard to explain, basically, when in 900mode, all 900degrees will be needed to turn the wheels fully on 'normal' mundane cars, but then in racing cars less will be needed.
Can anyone remember/confirm this? or at least explian it better if nobody else understands what im saying in the hope somebody remembers.
Thanks all

You're right, it would be hard to explain. I did some testing in GT4P and found out that the rack&pinion is the same for all cars. With slicks, the drift angle of the tyres becomes smaller, hence the driver does not need to turn the steering wheel so much.

it wobbles whit me too it normal..but my brake get stuck if i am making leftfoot brakings,so i have to play whit onefoot only,,it seems to get stuck even easyer when ihave abs or tcs on,,lucky for me i dont you those thing,,but its still annoing,,meaby my ps2 is too old or something,,dunno

Sorry guys if this has been asked before in this tread, but at 59 pages long, I was not able to find and answer.

I understand that there is an issue with the DFP pedals, and I have been able to find information on how to repair it (not to clearly, but good enough).

My question is, has this issue been confirmed for the GT4 as well?

I have the problem with NFP U2 and Toca 2.

I haven't found the GUTS to open the damn thing and try to repair it, and short of two days to GT4 release, I don't want to send it to be repair (if Logitech is repairing them under warranty).

hey guys im new here, and im gettin the DFP when i get GT4, ive been hearin alot of rumors thats its wayy harder to drift with wheel, is this true? or is it just a thing where ya need to get use to it? thanks

Well, first off, it is harder to drift in GT4 than it was in GT3. Secondly, using the wheel takes some getting used to. So, combine those two factors, and the answer is yes.

What do you get faster lap times in general with. The DFP or the Dual Shock?

Impossible to say in my case, because I have used the DFP exclusively for GT4, and the default control setup in GT4 for the DS2 is not the same as it was in GT3, so I'd be learning it all over again if I actually tried to use it.

i heard it fun to drift in lfs..but i dont have gt4 (yet) so its hard to say,if its anything like gt4p its ´pretty hard but what fun comes easy?just have to practice...

I coudn't find an answer to this question over 60 pages but here it is:

Whenever I drive my Driving Force Pro Wheel (which is excellent, in GT4 Prologue I did a 15.792 second time in the high speed cone slalom test using it) 👍 :) , anyway, when i drive any car, the brake pedal just randomly powers on (the pedal doesn't physically go in), but in the game it decreases the cars acceleration, top speed and when i come to a standstill i dont go anywhere (even at full throttle). it is very frustrating :grumpy: and the only way i can fix it is by re-plugging the USB connector, but it doesn't solve the problem for long.

Does anyone know what the problem is?
thanks in advance

i orderd my dfp on the net and should b getting it either wed or thurs, and obviously ive herd good things about it but alot of ppl hvae beensaying how much technical failures theve been having with it. is it a waste of money or actually is the real deal.

This link deals with the problems the MOMO racing pedals have. You can use this link due to the fact that the DFP and MOMO racing have the same potentiometers and the same problems.

This is the thread which deals with all the DFP problems, you can find this thread under GT4 Prologue, not GT4!!!!!!!

Really without the ACTUAL advice to buy the DF>>P<<, can someone tell me if these "errors" came only with the DF>>P<< and NOT the DF, or are there TOO problems like this with the DF. Don't just advice the DFP, name the "improvements" that make the DFP much better than the DF.....please?? I don't hear anything that names an improvement above the DF (without the 900 degree stuff)......(again) please??

And also can the people that actually HAVE these problems say something about it?? EVEN MORE PLEASSE????

Just to compare, I plan to make a lot of drifting vids. but I can only record them with the camera wich results in bad quality, NOW SERIOUSLY I CAN HAVE THIS PROBELM SOLVED only with one condition, I HAVE TO choose between:
- the DF+GT4+aditional equipment to solve all BAD quality vids. wich REALLY matters to ME then
-the DFP+GT4 wich I don't know if it'll be worth choosing above the other option above:guilty: If it WILL work though, I CERTAINLY would pick THIS OPTION:D:D

It seems like the DF was alright, and the DFP is GREAT sometimes and SUCKS other times; the DF just looks more reliable instead of a vey confusing DFP:indiff:

this has already been answered many times :
better and stronger and more detailed force feedback
wheel feels much better/higher quality.
paddles and unlike the DF, it has a sequential shifter.
Better pedals.

The best part is, though, that it is specifically made for GT4 but still compatible with other racing PS2 games.

BETTER PEDALS??! I hear complaints about them all the time, or are they nonetheless muh better than the DF?? I've edited my post as you probebbly can see, so now you (all) know what I'm choosing for, maybe the opinions change now..................though I have the impression that I just need to buy it myself and see if mine is alright, it seems to differ between various people...........

Can I use the MOMO Force wall adapter with DFP? Because it's cheaper to order a wheel to my country from "US ebay", I'm planning to get one from there... and instead of 120V usa adapter I'll use the MOMO Force adapter or Wingman Formula Force GP adapter for EU. I used a couple of times on Force GP the MOMO Force adapter(because it's longer) and it was fine...

yup, thats your best bet. I lucked out and got some decent feeling pedals. 👍
i think im gonna do what a lot of other DFP owners have done and modify the pedals. I've heard of people strengthening the pedals for more resistance using various items. I havent bothered with it yet since my RL car's gas pedal feels about the same, just a bit stiffer.
