The long loading times/glitches were a server issue.

The message appeared on the main menu. Appearantly it was a server problem (it is getting fixed as we speak), that made the game run very slow at points for some people. I guess that issue should be fixed in a few hours.

Guys every time i want to go online racing, it says the network is offline any idea?

I got that too yesterday.I disconnected the ethernet cable ,then reconected it,and problem fixed. In the open lounge though i couldn't find any rooms at all regardless of the filters??

That is them fixing it.

Oh i see, cause i've been trying to go online for quite a few hours now, and i still can't connect.
I hope they fix it soon, cause i want to try the online experience

me too

I had to disconnect the internet from the PS3 to run GT5 properly ( I HATE LOADINGS )

and I have a Question ... do anyone thinks the installing of the game useless ? no effects on loading time ??

Yeah earlier today (8am EST till about noon) it was fine. Yesterday I waited as long as 5 MINUTES to get from garage back to main screen.

Now though (about 2pm to3:45pm EST when it happened) - Again took FOREVER to navigate menus in single player. I had to exit game actually. It's a pretty stupid system that requires sever communication to navigate single player menus.

The solution I read in the in-game message was to go into your net connections in the XMB and disable the internet connection, then start game up. Not to just unplug cable....

i thought it was because of the install. i did it and it loaded a helluv a lot faster

Nope, I did the full install. Plus the hard drive never blinks when it "hangs", but my wireless bridge LED (that my PS3 is connected to) blinks every few seconds while it is frozen.

Also it's just going from a menu back into GT life main menu. A munu that has been loaded hundreds of times already. In that case mine was already installed. This is definitely a "network congestion" issue as Sony puts it. Basically their servers took a dump and they were not properly prepard for the network traffic- even though they new what was coming. Oh well.
