The author seems to care more about the paint job than the actual creation of the helmet. Who designs the paint sceme? What are the helmets made of? Are they custom molded to each driver's head? How long does it take? How much do they cost? How do I get my own? (:

It is pretty cool looking though, and it's interesting to see the steps they use in painting the things up.

I think the drivers design the helmets themselves or come up with ideas for designers because the drivers helmet is the only thing they can personalise. They are quite expensive but you can buy replica full size helmets from the manufacturers like Arai and Bell and also some independant helmet dealers.

If anybody would like to design their own helmet, I will send them a template for you to paint and then I will put it into GP3 with the car of your choice.

Hmmm...I've always wondered about that. Wouldn't Montoya look good in a red helmet with William's paint scheme?
