Many users complain about how the A.I in GT5 are still quite stupid. I do believe that sentiment to be true, to a certain extent. However, I have just started another account and attempted the VITZ event. Using the Euro sports edition, I kept with the A.I the entire race, and managed a second (Passed on the last stretch). Of course, I proceeded to make a few modifications, and won by a measly two seconds (by A-Spec standards)

Which leads me to my question, what A-spec races gave you the most challenge, and what car/upgrades did you use?

I used a stock Vitz for that race, the AI were gaining me on the last straight, 2 were going to pass each side of my car, so I quickly spun the car sideways to stop them, and the pushed me across the line.

The A-Spec races that were the most challenging to me were the FGT Championship, and the Historic Racing Series. I found both to be extremely fun however, and I wish many more of the championships were as long as the FGT Championship. I do wish there was a save option on between races though.

So far the most difficult for me is the Formula Gran Turismo.

If the idiot A.I. isn't a big enough problem, they all have equally powered F1 cars.... Huzzah.

historic cup was a pain in the 🤬..I'm about to attempt the formula gran turismo championship so we'll see how that goes

So far, the GT All-Stars Championship. I used the Nissan R92CP, and like a lot of the LMP cars, it's very tricky to drive and will punish you if you're careless. I got first up until the Cape Ring and Tokyo R246, so this championship really tested my skill, especially on these two races.

The Historic Racing Car Cup was challenging too.

The Historic Racing Car Cup was challenging too.

To be fully honest i didnt struggle with a single race in A-spec, however if there was one that i did struggle with to any extent, the Historic Racing Car Cup would of been it. I used a fully upgraded Jaguar XJ13 Race Car and still found it a little challenging, as this is probably one of the slowest race cars in that bracket. Bit hard to keep up with the Toyota 7 as its straight line speed is huge, but i did manage to get the hang of the car/track and won it bya fair margin in the end. Quite a fun car to drive actually.

The Vitz Cup is only challenging because all the AI cars are at 135+ hp... Except the 1.3s, which are at 117.

The hardest race I've done so far was completing the Historic Race Car Cup in a '73 Lancia Stratos. Epic race though.

that would be the Formula GT... I realy hate those cars, and the races were a big challenge for me :ouch:

Formula GT Championship , i have only tried it once and hated it , i just don't get on with those Formula cars , i may never complete it. :scared:

FGT championship and Historic Racing Series for me too. I managed to win the HRS with a 2D, which was quite challenging. The FGT was tough because of how dumb the AI is, and the rubberband effect this game has. In the FGT championship, you can be 20 seconds behind halfway through a race, and still finish with the same margins as if you had gone balls to the wall from the start.

I am shocked that no one picked 24H races, because nothing is more challenging that this races.

Everything else is easy :)

NASCAR! Gah... I hate it! I Hate it!

Those cars (can you even call them cars?) are not made for tracks like Grand Valley or Laguna Seca. They handle like a whale, won't corner, fishtail like mad, torque steer. I can't get better than silver on that one because I always seem to make one slip up that costs me the race.

It's not a rubber band effect... It's just that near the end, the A.I. actually starts driving competently near the end of the race. Like they've been given a B-spec order to increase pace. The rest of the time, they drive pretty wretchedly, which is why the difference is quite marked. If you're driving the same car, you should still be able to outdrive them by the time they kick it into gear.

Right now - FGT. Just went through Cote, and Nurburgring in one sitting. Unreal focus that I've never had in a video game before. I wanted to pause to relax and chill the nerves, but I was toooooo focused to even do that.

Palms are sweaty, and heart is racing!

would have to be all stars, the AI are teh worst! Did it in my mazda 787b, but if i took a corner slightly off i would get shunted from the back sending me into a spin, then if i try to get back on course i would just get repeatedly spun by the on rails AI

skid recovery went on for this after nearly throwing my DFGT
