Just because I'm an inquisitive fellow... For you personally, what's the most difficult track in SCC? The one you had the most trouble with...

Just like in Ferrari Challenge, for me it's Mont Tremblant. I don't know what it is about that track, but it always gives me fits. Technically, there are harder tracks, but that one I just can't get my head around... :dunce:

HI Manny
I think you will get different answer from most people.Mont Tremblant is one of my favorite tracks in SCC.I think the most difficult track is paul ricard.

just right..i have too many difficulties about paul richard...and also some trouble in silverstone ( the third bend) too..

I have the impression that when or if I manage to tame Mont Tremblant, I will grow to like it. Paul Ricard is a tough one for me too, but I put so much time into it in FC, that I've grown to understand it. Of course, it depends on the car being used... The 575 Maranello at Paul Ricard in Ferrari Challenge was the most frustrated I've ever been with anything... ever.

Not from me. :) That would be my answer too. I love Mont Tremblant. 👍 For me it's right up there with Spa. And Paul Ricard isn't just difficult, it's an abomination. :yuck:

That said, there are some tracks I'm weaker on than others. I have nothing against Silverstone and appreciate it's history. But I've never been able to find a good rhythm around it in every racing sim I've ever played.

SCC's Misano, i wil go so far and say, that this track shold be removed from SCC vith a pach! It Is realy that bad !

Henrick is quite right,Manny! For me the most difficult track in scc is Riviera with the narrow tight hairpins and the left hander that leads into the uphill section:scared: it's not that I don't like,I've became very fond of it actually ,it's just the more technical track in the game for me...other track,or better, other corner I just can't get it right is Eau Rouge at SPA,as you well know from SHIFT,at least can't take it so fast as the rest of the guys, but despite that it's one of my favourite tracks:tup:as well as MT Vallelunga,Mugello,Nuburgring,Infineon and Virginia...The tracks I find less interesting are the ones with oval sections like Homestead and California:yuck:

Now Manny you troublemaker:trouble::lol::cool: look what you've done...👍

I guess your answer highlights why I asked the question... Certain tracks just rub certain people the wrong way.

I don't mind Misano a bit, and Silverstone is one of my all time favorites. When you really get the Maggotts, Becketts, Chapel complex right it's just fabulous... to me. :)

To me would be Homestead Infield (that first turn is a nightmare); Paul Ricard (the mids section of the track is decisive for a good lap time, if you mess on that long decreasing right, followed by the shorter also decreasing left, you're *****!); Virginia (everything is wrong on that track, its an abortion... can anybody explain why sequence of short left-right turns in a plain section that you would drive through in a straight line?). These are the tracks I hate the most because they don't make sense to me, they are unnaturally flow.

As for flowing circuits that are a challenge to tame but since they make sense and flow nicely with the landscape (this is important for a track to be great) and that are highly difficult but are addictive I'll mention Infineon and Mont Tremblant. They are technical and slow circuits but since their layout is so well integrated in the surroundings they flow nicely.

For people who are new to the game Virginia must be up there as one of the most difficult tracks. It's probably the busiest lap in the game and, if you're racing guys online, the one where you'll hear most ooohs and aaahs as people lose it after getting a wheel on to the unforgiving grass!

Initially, I too found Mt. Tremblement made me tremble:nervous: It didn't help that the lap starts with that decreasing radius curve which was always throwing me into the barrier. Unlike Riviera where the armco is so close to the track the run off area goes on forever and if you go off there its like slow motion as you head off into the barrier while everyone waves goodbye to you!

For me the most difficult tracks are Virginia and Infineon. I did never find a rhythm on these tracks. In my opinion they are no real race tracks. They are only an uninspired follows of corners with no sense 👎

I don't really dislike either track but neither would I consider either one among my favorites. For me the biggest problem is, neither track is particularly good for side by side racing. And a small knock or rub can easily force the other car off the road and you really have to be so careful. But I think Infineon is also better (or worse) depending on the car you're driving. With smaller, lighter, slower cars it can be a lot of fun. But the 512S in the rain would be a nightmare.

I tried Riviera in the Vette last night and was having a blast. It is really a fantastic layout, similar to Monte Carlo, but much faster. I must've done fifteen laps on Time Trial just enjoying the ride. I have no idea what a good time is in the C6 for that track.

Oh, I forgot about that one! You're absolutely right, that corner is another one that will have me off 50% of the time! Decreasing radius turns are always tricky, but that one is particularly bad since you are at such high speed going into it.

There you've put your finger on a very good point! Some tracks are fun enough to drive on, but fall flat when it comes to having good competitive races on them. I enjoy VIR and Infineon on Time Trial, but races there are a disaster for me. Especially at Infineon. There is very little you can do to advance your position there except to hope for a mistake by the guy in front of you. :indiff:

Yes, seems that the "secret" is to get the right braking, pointing towards the apex of the first slight left right from the transition from the oval to the infield. Carrying too much speed in there and not pointing to the left of the track will end helplessly on the grass/gravel.

There was a point when I was playing FC a lot, that I could get it right most of the time. If I recall correctly, in addition to doing what you mentioned, there was a point where I had to get off the brake and get back on the accelerator progressively to get the back end to come around.

I've clearly forgotten exactly what I used to do because I have yet to get it right in SCC. I find that's a veeeerrryy loooonnng slide to the wall there.

Infineon is wery difficult, to go fast there, mostly if you to erly on the power you get wheel spin, and lose a lot of time, braking is also very tricky.

I try always to brake as late as possible and be on the power very early, well that dose not work here, it dose not work 100% on other tracks, but this is the thrach where it realy dose not work.

Infineon is a terrible track to race on because there is really no straight long enough to make a safe, clean pass on. On the other hand, Infineon is a fun track to time trial on.

I think Virginia is actually a very good track for racing - lots of little wiggles in the track, many of them off-camber, which make it very tricky to control the weight-transfer. Staying on the track, while pushing hard to achieve a fast time is very demanding & makes for exciting driving. The strategy is to stay in touch with the car in front through all the corners & then draft past on the straights, because unlike Infineon, which it is similar to, VIR has one very long straight & another shorter one to use for drafting.

Homestead & California I despise: Homestead because it really only has one interesting corner, California because, like Paul Ricard it's a slidey mess. At Paul Ricard there's no real track to speak off & the fastest way around seems to involve ignoring the track, however I have had some fun races at PAul Ricard with the lead changing hands several times.
