What is the most ridiculous thing you have ever bought? That thing that you really didn't needat all but, despite the price, you just HAD to have?

For example, buying some ridiculously complicated digital video camera when a simple Sony Cybershot would have done?

Sony Ericsson P800 that's my current phone. Really could've settled for a standard phone, but i still got it regardless of the huge pricetag. I suppose i've got the most out of it, but still... Suppose i haven't really made that many big purchases, but i do seem to have the tendency to buy the best regardless :p

A Rolex, Oyster Perpetual Date Just. Spent almost 3g's on. Oh well at least I can say its a real Rolex and not a Folex.

When you light a cigar, the flame of the lighter isn't even supposed to touch the cigar. So how ironic is that?!

Not very.

A Bang & Olufsen turntable. I bought it as CDs were just becoming popular, before I bought a CD player, because I figured I had 700 LPs and I wanted the turntable to last a lifetime. 2 years later I bought a CD player and haven't listened to a single solitary LP in the many years since. Now it needs a cartridge, which would cost a substatial amount more than a decent CD changer.

$650 canadian on an iPod (it was a gift for my graduation) - less than 4 months after I got it, I was mugged :irked:.

$700 Canadian on my current mp3 player - iRiver iHP140. Granted, it was a rediculous amount of money, I don't ever go more than a day without putting it through several hours of use.

Expensive dinner for a hot broad that ended up being the single most uninteresting person I've ever had to endure a meal conversation with. She was hot, though.

I just recently bought a jersey from a GEICO softball league--The Profits. I also bought a hockey referee jersey.

I once bought an eighty-dollar fleece vest for some reason. I buy a lot of useless clothing.

Well, I love the car and wouldn't change my decision, but I was looking for a car with decent gas mileage, better than my 4spd '89 Hi-Lux, or '87 Chevy, or '77 landcruiser. so i got this 01 Celica GT-S and after my first fill up, i calculated the city mileage out to a whopping 18mpg!!! Holly crap what have i done!

You gotta stop driving it like you stole it.

Why in the world would you have an A8 and a 740i, Doug? :odd:

As far as useless stuff goes... I bought an X-Box a few weeks ago, and I barely used it since.

They sold sixteen or seventeen, and due to owner suicides, they're available rather frequently.

So technically it's rarer than an Allanté?

Is that what's wrong? Well, i know i did hot rod it around on the first tank, but i mean, C'mon! it was my first fast car! Maybe this second tank will show better results.

I'm really prudent with my money... the only time I buy stupid things are when I'm traveling. When I was in Sacramento in 4th grade, I bought my mom some earrings that she's never worn, and when I was in Thailand a few years ago I bought a pretty box for 20 bucks that just collects dust on my desk now.
