The most unfair part about GT5 is...

You are the team manager for b-spec, if you don't like then don't play it.
You kinda have to get some of the cars you need for A-Spec, like the Toyota 7 for the Historic Race. But if you want to spend 4,000,000 on it from the UCD, be my guest.

But it seems Bob get's the opportunity to have more fun than us but he simply doesn't take that opportunity. Instead he struggles and faffs about, refusing to overtake, braking too late, too early, unnecessarily, sometimes not at all, loses a massive lead for no reason whatsoever. I mean, you actually have to tell a so-called racing driver to speed up and overtake for Christ's sake! You think this is just right? Do you watch much motor sports?

Agreed! In GT4, you told him to run a pace and he did. And you didn't have to tell him to pass each car, you told him once at the beginning of his stint at the wheel and overtook everyone that was in front of him the entire time.

My guess is that PD decided to shorten GT5s Number of Races/Laps due to the low count of 27 tracks or maybe because GT5 might attract new fans...and to not scare them away, maybe Sony told PD to shorten racing.

This really disapointed me in:
-Formula GT...what happened to pit stratergy?
-Nascar...What happened to the Daytona 500mile race and restrictor places?
-Grand Tour de Italy thing...whats the point of awesome cutscenes if there's no long road racing like the Gumball challenge?(Probably could have made many random roads and have a checkpoint to load/create next section)
-Indy 500...what happened to atleast make the formula GT open wheel cars similar to IRL.

Not sure if it's unfair or just annoying but the way that the AI slams on the brakes at needless moments when you're slipstreaming is just stupid!

I have to agree with those complaining about A & B Spec race lengths. They are the wrong way round. B Spec Bob seems to get more action than I do. And the lack of a fast forward option in B spec is a joke. I had to watch a 1hr race of Suzuka in the wet. I was sat there watching Family Guy on my laptop whilst Bob did his thing.

Kaz should be forcefully tied to a chair, and made to play an entire enduro in B-Spec. With a car no more powerful than the 'typical opponents'.

I GUARANTEE... I :censored:in' guarantee he has NEVER done it. In fact, I guarantee that Kaz has NEVER played this game, either A-Spec or B-Spec, from beginning to Endurance. There is simply NO WAY he would endure what we have to, from idiotic B-Spec races being twice the length of A-Spec, to grinding the same event simply to progress from one golded event to the next one.

He has a copy of the game, with a game save that gives him every car in the game, and every event unlocked, and never had to progrees from the start like the rest of us.

I GUARANTEE it...

If the Aspec races are finished, too short, too easy or whatever there is always arcade mode/online. I know it's not the same with credits (in arcade) and what not but you can still have a good racing session.

If he would ever play the game like we do he should see how deeply flawed it is. But i'm not holding my breath.
He just sits on his pedestal and comments every now and then:"I want people to play this game a long time. Never mind if anyone has any fun doing it."

Yeah I was going to do the entire "Career" without doing B-Spec, then I realized you kind of have to do B-Spec because A-Spec in general is way to short. There aren't enough races and 90% of the races are way too short. Before GT5 I have never touched B-Spec, and I've played all GTs extensively except PSP.

GT fans that loved GT for it's single player brilliance in the past all got the shaft from PD in GT5. A cruel coincidence is that GT5 is one of the best and most fun driving sim there is. If there is one physics model I want to drive more of it's GT5- oops, sorry about your luck- we made GT5 single player extremely short this time. Most of your racing will be repeating very short races with almost no restrictions so you easily dominate. WTH PD? Just copy GT4's single player structure, or expand on it, don't cut it in half! WTF

I just hope PD are going to have WAY more A-Spec content in the future via DLC and updates.

I find the ai the most unbareable thing.
I have fully tuned LP560-4 and 458, and neither can get to first place in their events.
How can a 512BB and 599 be better then a 458.
GT5 must have some sort of balancing system which modifies the ai's cars to match yours.

Yes but that isn't what GT is all about. I'm glad we have on-line now, but GT has always been about an amazingly well thought out, balanced, and challenging single player career. All we have now is a few short easy races.

I'm happy with it the way it is, tho if you could adjust it that would be fine. I personally don't find the racing exciting at all, the A.I. ruins it, it's been like that in every one. I can do 30-40 laps in F1 2010. But in GT5..No.

I just don't get a sense of competition. It's alot of thing's really, only 16 car's. No "real racing series". For example there's Nacar but not to the ponit to where you can do an actual season with all the tracks. And that's where i was thrown off with GT5.

But not to get off the subject. I think that's why the races are soo short. The racing itself just isn't exciting enough, and PD know's that. Racing online is more fun Imo.

For comparison, GT4 had:

522 A-spec races!

34 driving missions

80 license tests (which were actually 'relevant')

Hybrid A and B Spec modes (take turns doing endurances!)

You didn't have to do B-spec at all, because the perfectionist/completest could collect all 730 cars by him/herself.

GT5 has:

A mere 127 A-Spec races

60 meaningless license tests

But in fairness, a challenging and rewarding Special events section, although...

If you want to collect all 1000+ cars, you have no choice but to endure the almost unbearable trash that is B-spec.

Basically every aspect of this game is halfassed. There isn't a single really refined side to it. B-spec is useless and boring, A-spec is far too short and easy, Rally is worst driving ever, Nascar is far too short, Night time is crap, rain is worse, menus suck, tuning sucks, A.I. is horrible, drifting is impossible with a wheel, every real challenge in the game is basically racing against a set time not A.I. with similar cars. I just don't get how they managed it this bad in 7 years time:tdown:
And the level system is the root of all this evil, they thought they don't have to bother to make that many a-spec races, just make the stupid gamers repeat the few boring ones over and over and over.

I think the lack of races hint's that GT6 will be out sooner than we think. And they probably thought most of us will be playing online anyway. But tho's stats are ridiculous.

I think either this is the key or that more GT5 A-spec, B-spec, and Special Events will be released in the future via DLC.

I really hope so.

Just to clarify; it may seem like I'm having a rant. I'm not. I am really enjoying GT5, it's just that B-spec (in it's entirety) as well as the lack of races for me to do is really irritating.

GT4 - 522 A-spec races
GT5 - 127 A-Spec races

No wonder I feel a little ripped off. I didn't know how big the difference was.

Yeah, Bob gets longer races, but less XP ! Senseless but nothing we can do. I think the Bspec concept is fine but so poorly executed.

I thought GT4 was the start of promising things with co-op bobs, train your guy(s) and share duties, and that is how I would like to see Bspec work; train a guy up to a suitable level and then share races with him in either aspec or bspec mode. The game could then allocate the race XP to you (as aspec XP) and bobs (as bspec XP) according to the number of laps completed individually.

Oh, and can we have some robertas as well for eye candy (maybe similar to the girlie Motorstorm racers) ?

I'm not that far into B-spec yet, so can't tell, but can someone tell me if Bob gets double laps for ALL his races? So 20 in the first 3 races of the Dream Car Championship etc?..

Nobody is obliged to do b-spec.

I'm not into drifting, so i just skip that part. Why not do the same with b-spec if you don't like it.

Because then you miss out on a load of cool prize cars. I wanted the Toyota 7 for the Historic so I had no choice but to level Bob up so that he could do the Like the Wind races and win it for me.

Standard cars pop up in the used cars dealership.

As said before; I like the concept, it's just poorly implemented.

If you want longer races, start making noise about wanting an event generator.

Makes TOO much sense to actually happen...Choose your track, distance, HP/weight/tire/drivetrain/mod restrictions, number and difficulty of AI opponents (and the ability to pick a specific opponent(s)), and adjust the prize money accordingly -- And you can keep the B-spec madness for some kind of optional DLC...

If PD could make this happen, along with some new DLC cars and tracks twice a year, not only would I be busy until the PS4 release, we would all have real, genuine uses for the 800-something cars that would never get used in a race...💡
