note to moderators: i really dont know where put this thread... if this thread suppose to be in other part of forum... please move it....

the thread: why in the games (like gt4 or mc3) the porsche arent call porsche... they appear as "RUFF" or "Gemballa"

that is to pay less money in autor rights or what???

Ruf, and gemballa tune porsches and sell them, so they are not the acual production models.

Discussed many, many, many times before. They are not Porsches, they are Rufs. Search and you will find plenty of threads.

RUF are a company that tunes and re-badges Porsches, its just a way round getting around licensing.

RUF and Gembella are manufacturers of vehicles based on Porsche chassis. But as a license for Porsche may already be sold to somebody else or too expensive, other manufacurers with similar cars are a good alternative.

RUF & Gembella are independent manufacturers who make cars based on teh Porsche range, under German law they are considered seperate manufacturers so can be included in games as stand alone companies.

It is a subject that has been discussed/argued about many, many times here at GTP.
