what theme will it carry? underground? hot pursuit? wanted?

who knows?

what cars? lambos? well. you can on the others! carerra gt's? you can on the prequels! but why not gran turismo?

it's a money matter, everything is these days

With any luck, they'll go back to their old roots. In my opinion, the last real NFS game was HP2. Underground sucked. Most Wanted is just Underground with Cops, therefore it sucks, too. NFS as a whole sucks. Until they actually make a real NFS game again.

Lo!

Need for speed 2. Cockpitcam awaits, young grasshopper.
The best installment for the NFS series, aside from High Stakes. That one rawx. El nino LIVES!!!!! :scared:

I don't mind the Under Ground versions. They're actually very fun to play.

But the last real racing oriented NFS game was Hot Pursuit 2 which I'll still have a blast playing.

I agree with you 100% on HP2 being the last true NFS game. Though I must say as arcade racers, the Underground series were great games. You can't blame EA for trying to cash in on the tuner craze after movies like F&F and 2F2F hitting the theaters, after all it's business and profits. Though if only they allowed us to keep the cars without having to heavily modify them visually to advance in the game... :indiff:

I haven't played MW yet but I'm looking forward to it. I was kinda disappointed in the car selection though... *sighs*. Bring back Hot Pursuit, EA! :grumpy:

Most Wanted was the attempt to bring back old players with supercars while still trying to sell on Street Racing.

If EA's smart, they'll make a game to challenge PGR.

I still think the non modding days were its best days and are still its best days. Even now mates.

I like All the Neddfor speeds. Moding and non moding.

But i do prefur Need For Speed 2 Over Most Wanted or underground though.

I think they will stick to their Underground style because it sells better.

That's difficult to confirm because there IS no other racing game of that type on Playstation. It's either sim racers like GT, TOCA, etc.. NFS.. or games that suck so bad that none of us want to play them anyway.

For all intents and purposes, NFS is in it's own little league, especially on Playstation. It has no competition in that genre.. it's another example of EA telling us what's "cool" in a game, rather than listening to the fans.

Believe me, if they decide to release a real NFS game again, it's sales numbers will probably blow the socks off of the entire "Underground" series. Considering that practically everyone agrees that HP2 was the best NFS game ever.

No competition?... What are you on about?... There are so many street racing games out there that are nearlly identical to NFSU... They have a lot of competition... EA just usually does it a bit better than the competition...

The cockpit cams from NFS2 would be refreshing to see back... Also, the fact that NFSMW doesn't make you rice your car (at least not where I'm at in the game (22%)) is nice... Still, a new NFS HS game would be a step in the right direction IMHO...

;)

I'm not talking about street-racing games, I'm talking about the sim/arcade-style racing games in general. The ones that aren't sim games like GT, but aren't pure arcade games like Ridge Racer.. that fall somewhere in between. As someone else mentioned, like PGR on Xbox.

I couldn't give a crap about all the ricing games out there. NFS was never about that until recently. Now they SUCK. As long as EA continues to make NFS this way, I'll just keep saying "**** NEED FOR SPEED!!" and I'll go back to playing HP2.

No ricers. No mods. No drag racing. No Civics. NFS should be Open Road + Supercars, The End.

Look at it this way. It's been more than three years since I've been able to buy a game on PS2 with Ferrari in it. And it's all because of that dumb-*** "Underground" bull.

I guess if you want Ferrari's you should play PGR? NFSMW is the best NFS game to be released in a long time. There are no Civics, and the balance between Japanese and European cars is nice. Hell, there's even a Mustang and Viper if you want muscle. And the Black Edition of the game has a '67 Camaro. Do you want supercars on the open road? Play NFSMW and buy a Gallardo, or a Murcielago, or one of the 4 (?) Porsches that are available. Or the SLR McLaren. Most Wanted is a great game, really it's a mix of the best parts of the Underground series (exterior modding without all the rice), mixed with aspects from the old NFS games that everyone loved. Let's not forget the Performance Tuning part. I don't see why people hate on this game just because you can add bodykits to your car. I'd much rather add a bodykit that I like as opposed to unlocking higher "levels" of a car that all look the same.

Hmm, I loved NFS III - HP, t'was great fun. :D I had it on PC and it was the only game I found worked perfectly with my gamepad. :sly: If only the El Nino turned... :lol:

Could have something to do with the fact that I don't own an Xbox. :dunce:

You're talking about the "best parts of Underground" are a riot... there WERE no "best parts" to those games. They sucked ass from top to bottom.

NO mods. NO bodykits. Hell, they can ditch the cops for all I care. Open road, supercars, the end. I want the old NFS back, period. They can forget all the worthless bulls**t they've been doing for the last three years, and give us a real racing game again.

As for Most Wanted, that's currently on my "Least Wanted" list of games. One look at the cover tells me the game is not aimed at me. Stupid-*** "gangsta" graffiti... they can go to hell.

The first NFS game I played and still have is NFS3:HP. I had a blast getting chased by the cops and in multiplayer the cops remained. High Stakes kept the same formula and I think was the start of customization(though really limited). I still haven't played HP2 :guilty: since I was busy with PGR on the Xbox. Since I jumped on the PS2 last year I got hooked on NFS:UG2 because of the online. When MW came out I was looking forward to going online with that too, but nooo, EA had to get lazy and cancel that for PS2. With so much hype for Microsoft and Xbox360 you'd think MW would run at 60 FPS, but the game runs at 30FPS :lol:. The positives that have been done is that the cops are back, exotic and supercars, and no longer are you forced to rice your car. The negatives, Rubberband AI(which is the worst thing in racing games), you're in a Mclaren, or supercar of choice, blazing through the street at 180+ and then a Golf slowly buzzes by you, makes no sense.

NFSMW - Playing it, and liking it so far;
NFSU2 - Stopped half way through, don't plan on coming back to it;
NFSU - Finished it once;
NFSHP2 - Finished twice and still play it once in a while. :)

I would like the next NFS to come back to the "no mods" days, and with Ferraris of course. I liked MW, it's the best NFS game after HP2 in my opinion, but the PS2 version is a bit crappy in some ways. HP2 also had some good songs.

I agree. That's a beautiful thing about Most Wanted. You can race just like you did in Hot Pursuit 2. How?

Don't mod the d*mn car.

Very, very well said! They need to take the "hip-hop" **** out and make it NFS again.

Need for speed 3: Hot pursuit was fooking awsome, Road challeneg (aka High stakes) was also fantastic. These are my fave NFS games, road challenge was a no nonsense blast. I also enjoyed the Porsche unleashed need for speed, that was a thouroughly enjoyable game, with the moby dick porsche GT1 thingy, maaan loved it.

NFS 1...... the original, the king!!, incar views, real engine sounds, real supercars, open road, and cops........all back in 1995!!! that was the best NFS game. Mind you in saying that i own every single NFS game released and i enjoy each one. Some more then others, but hell i'll still play then and finsh them.

In my opinion the best NFS games were NFS and NFS2. I'd like that feel back.

I'd like NFS on PS3 to be named NFS3. I would like more realistic physics, 3D pedestrians, full damage model and cockpit view.

I don't mind the tuning options of NFS:U games but I want that as an option and not an integral part of the game, as in the game can be completed without having to put on stupid neon lights, 100kg worth of ICE and NOS purge.:yuck:

I actually liked NFS:MW demo. One thing I didn't like though was the tuned version of the Porsche Cayman. Anyone that buys a Porsche and does that to it needs to be beaten with a wet stick.:ouch:
