What didn't work on the Tribeca doesn't work on the Impreza either. The body colored trim makes it a bit more discreet than the B9's, but make no mistake, that's still one ugly front end. I'm pretty sure it'll have similar specs to the current STi, considering it's just a face/butt lift.

It'll take time getting used to, if that's even possible.

Damn.. they just need to resort back to the GC8 body with the GD rear... but will Subaru wake up to that fact.... never... sigh...

I like it. 👍 Personally, when the new WRXs came out with those round headlights, that's when I didn't like the design at all(at least initially).

Love the headlights, love the integrated fog light covers, everything looks great and aggressive except the grille in the middle. What the hell were they thinking? :yuck:

I have to say I like it.

Although, Subaru would have to have make the model look like my parents having sex for me not to like it.

I think it is fine, not that bad... I drive the bugeye Sti since early 2002, I always liked it... and I actually like this one more than the 2003-05 models....

If they removed that stupid crappy grill they are forcing on every subaru it would be ok, otherwise with the grill I really dont like it.

But you wouldn't know what that would look like. Right?

It doesn't look that bad. I prefer older models though.

Only Alpha Romeo can get away with that shape. parents and you guys over fifty are experiencing Deja-vu. that's the EXACT same treatment the Edsel had in it's debut year...and why they flopped Audi should take the hint, too, and get rid of that design. it's ugly, and gives an Edsel rep to whatever wears it.

am I the only one with a taste for those round lamps? that's why I love the previous gen WRX look, the mid ninties Celica, the Neons, even the otherwise ugly late 70's pacer.

I usually like the round lights, like the Celica and Neons you mentioned(no, not Pacers). My brother drives the WRX with the round lights, I think it looks alright now. Some with the projector headlamp conversion looks really nice. 👍

If they removed the wart from the middle of it's face it would be great. The overall treatment looks nice, just not the center of the grill.

Looks like a Toyota front end. And those brake lights take up a third of the rear's area, man. So ugly.

Hell in a handbasket, people. What? Is the new designer of Subarus was a fusion between Saturn styling and Alfa Romeo? Should we consider this person the Chris Bangle of Subaru? Pretty much, I'd get rid of the Alfa Romeo styling. Stick to Italian cars with that design. I liked the last Impreza better even if Tiff Needell joked on it calling the last-gen model "ugly."

That's stylewise. Performance wise, if it can still deliver, then we can basically forget about its looks and be more on its performance. Personally, I would like to see a great aftermarket look from some tuning firm to make the front grill much better looking.

PROS: headlights, brake lights, hood scoop, still come clean lines

CONS: that front grill design has to go. I think if you can horizontally shorten the front grill (granted you got rid of the center piece of the grill), you'd have a very nice design for a rugged, rally-proven machine like the Impreza family of cars. I'd still keep the big wing to show that this thing is a rally star.

But the Alfa Romeo lines (namely the center grill) has to go. Can you dig that?

This is one car in the world that a body kit would proabably improve. That being said, while I don't like it, I have to say it's better than the awful B9 because at least it is a real grille opening, not mostly blank.

And I also liked the bugeye WRX. That's why I'm amazed that the same company that so quickly recoiled from that innocuous look is now promoting this outlandish crap.

No where near as bad as the Tribeca although that isn't hard. It is definately the centre of the grille that spoils it, get rid of that or even make it a little shorter and I think it would look good.

My stance exactly. When is this **** coming out?

I also like it. I find the fornt kind of menicing, and as much as I think the Tribeca is ugly I think this is kinda good.

👍

That grill looks like ass, they need to get rid of the Alpha Romero looking thing in the middle.

Supposedly the new grille debuts in less than six months. Be prepared.
Care to place a friendly wager on whether they discount '05 leftovers or new '06s first?

I thnik I stand with the majority, the car looks good. Exept for the grill in the center.

Because that would be boring.

I think they are just rying to build an image to work off in future. Like BMW with the Kidneys, Alfa with the *not to be mentioned* etc.

I've always been a Subaru fan...but this is absolute crap.

The new lights :indiff: Might look good on the 03/04 models, but horrible on this one

The new, fog light covers :yuck:

That fugly grill :yuck:

That entire bumper :yuck:

It seems (kind of hard to tell from those pictures) that they softened up the fenders too :yuck:

Lets hope the new style goes as quickly as it came :nervous:
