Car Throttle virtually never have anything new or original anymore. They're basically a website based on content not from them.

Ahem...Rocket Bunny...ahem. Liberty Walk only does high-end cars and exotics.
High end ay? :P

I, for one, love the new design! Might not be 100% perfect, but I can't think of many cars on sale I like better. At least not in that price range - or anywhere near it.

I've got some pictures in my head... torch red, slightly lowered, black spoiler lip on the front bumper, small ducktail-ish rear spoiler and a set of black Work Meister S1s with a polished dish (or a knock-off, if need be).

And the great thing, that's nowhere near as unreasonable to achieve as some other cars I've been dreaming about lately 👍 I'll be done with university in 3.5 years and will go back to working full time again - prices for a clean used one should be hitting a very sweet spot by then

Hope it gets an engine that matches its more aggressive look. The rumored 240hp 4C heart would be nice.....but doubtful......but nice!

My ranking based on design goes just like its history.... NA > NB > NC > ND.

IF I ever decide to buy one, I will be looking into the fastback idea. Or, just wait for Alfa to release their version.

In all honesty it has its flaws here and there, however looking at those modified renders, it looks really nice. It can look really aggressive. However a Miata has always looked cute.

I remember when a stanced NA Miata passed by and gave me a wink at an auto show. The cutest thing I've seen a car do. I talked to the owner and I asked if he did any wiring and he just showed me how to do it. There is a button for the headlights and if you tap it lightly half way through it will just pop one headlight. Although some consider this a wiring flaw it gives the car character.

This Miata just looks pissed to be born.

It's a lot less feminine looking, which is definitely a good thing. That might change the stigma it has... but probably not.

That Rocket Bunny kit... ugh, absolutely sick of seeing it on everything. I liked the overfenders on the FR-S/BRZ when they came out, but now that it's on everything from 180sx' to 458s (sorry Keef, but Liberty Walk = Rocket Bunny, it's the same guy designing it), it's lost its appeal. It's rehashed. And we all know there'll be at least 4 of them sporting it at Tokyo Auto Salon in January. And the internet will go crazy, again.

It's only really the headlights that are less feminine, I'd say - the rest of it is curvier than the MX-5 has ever been. I'd certainly say the barrel-sided and flared-fendered NC is a more masculine shape than this, even if it's let down by a bit of a goofy face.

Still not convinced by the front end of this one, but the back is growing on me and the side, which I already liked, really does look good. The squat stance is pretty cool too. The hard top render up there makes me really want them to produce a proper coupe, because that render already looks better than the GT86 to my eyes.

I'm with @-Fred- on the bolt-on fenders thing though. Very bored of that look already.

Oh, and in terms of ranking the generations? I'd say the ND has already hopped up to second. NA, ND, NB, NC.

I like the ND because of the flared arches. It looks planted at the bottom. Hugs the pavement just sitting there. Best Motoring/Hot Version will definitely have. Some custom versions ready to be filmed.

Super Taikyu versions will definitely be ready to go. I remember the debut of the NC at NYIAS. The Renown liveried MX5 was on display. I'm hoping to see a race version pretty quickly.

Look like a Ferrari in this pic. Perfect proportions. It has the illusion of width like the NB and the look of lightnessbfrombthe NA. No exterior likeness from the NC but the look of the interior. Tough little roadster. I'll sign up for the 1.5L. Probably means no LSD, no 6h gear, no SAT NAV, no HIDs. I'm good with that.

I think 6-speed manual is standard across the board.

Just waiting for the color palette. I'd prefer yellow. Hope some bright colors are available from the factory. If not, it's getting wrapped.

Just saw this on the Hot Version FB page
