That's right... it appears, in his classically cryptic way, although this time a good deal more obvious, Kojima appears to have already begun developing a new MGS game around the Raiden character.

Here is how it largely unfolded:

We did that already in MGS2.

I'm not going to follow the game like I did MGS3 and MGS4. I'm just going to sit idly by and not get too rapped up in it, this time.
 
I would guess it's just another trick from Hideo Kojima.

I demand ZOE3, now!
 
HAHA! How many games sites got fooled? IGN, G4, Joystiq, Kotaku... no wonder Kojima hates the American game media.
 
I remember about a year before MGS4 came out, Hideo Kojima was being seen by a lot of MS executives. They wined and dined him for several weeks. They obviously gave him a brief case full of cash. Konami must have received a lot of money, too. I also remember Kojima said he could do MGS4 on XBox. I guess he was softening up the MGS series fans. I knew 'something' was coming, but NOT THIS! I'm shocked.

It's a shame, really. I always though he would make them a new game, and not MGS series 'exclusive' game. (I don't really know yet if this game really is exclusive to the XBox or not. It just might be multi-platform. At least I hope...)

I shouldn't be too shocked, since a friend over in Japan said this might happen, but was in doubt.

If it was an exclusive they would have mentioned it over and over again, MS isn't dumb.

Did they? I didn't hear anything. I've only read a few websites on it they claimed, "...exclusitivity is not yet known." Oh well.

So a XBox and PS3 game isn't too bad. I don't care for Raiden one bit, though.
 
I just saw this a few minutes ago. "Metal Gear Solid: Rising" will feature [Code Name] Raiden. That's going to be a wicked title.

I don't think we need to tell you why the PS3 is superior over the 360? It's not MGS4. The limitations of the 360 prevent that. It's just another cross platform game, which isn't the first time for Metal Gear.

Yes but in those days nobody cared, the word fanboy didnt even exsist and people were happy enough to get what they were given!

Limitations, yes im sure it wont be the same quality as MGS4 (probably going to have to be on 10 disks or something!) but I am already hearing the 360 owners sounding off about Sony's fall from grace.

It was said last year MGS4 will not be on 360 but it could see a new MetalGear Game multiplatform including Wii.

I disagree. I remember playing certain cross platform games only on SNES or Genesis because I thought the graphics looked better.

And Microsoft's grace is more Haloz? Sony has the most exclusive games and the most quality games. Cause, you know... it's all about the games.

If you are really really really concerned about the fanboiz, unplug your ethernet cable, hang out with your friends, and wake up tomorrow morning for Sony's press confrence. Everything will be all better by then.

I don't think there's much doubt this year's PS3 line-up is much superior to that of the 360.

That's based on already announced titles, nevermind any suprises shown at Sony's E3 press conference.

In all honesty, even as a pretty dedicated 360 user, I'm not all that excited about it. Frankly, I'm not even sure what kind of reception the games (talking about FF:XIII too) will have overall. Its cool that we're getting these monster franchises, which saves us from the purchase of a PS3 for just a title (or two), but its more or less a play by Microsoft to attempt to level the playing field. Neither party has been playing their cards well over the past two years in their own respective ways, so while some may make it out to be what Sony is losing, or what Microsoft is buying... It really comes down to who is making the money. Koijima and Square, who will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Everywhere, the internet and my real world mates who are all 360 worshippers. Theres hardly anyone I know personally who has a PS3 because they still all say 'its got no good games, online gaming is poor and its too expensive'.

Actually its not even about fanboyism, some people dont even consider the PS3 as an option, its like it doesnt exsist.
 
In all honesty, I think this is turning into something that I haven't seen since I was a kid - something akin to the days of Nintendo vs SEGA. There are legitimate charges on both sides against one another when it comes to both hard and software, but I almost see this becoming something of personal preference than any kind of legitimate, quantifiable superiority by either party. Not that its a bad thing...

People can say what they like... as seen in this very forum, but it doesn't make it true, and based on facts and not personal opinion, they don't have much support... which is also why instead of raising facts, they just tend to says "it sucks", rather than have a reasonable discussion about it.

If it bothers you that much, then maybe you should consider finding new friends... after all, there are about 22 million PS3 users out there, who all don't clearly share your friend's opinions.

"Some people" don't believe the world is millions let alone billions of years old. "Some people" think we never landed on the moon. "Some people" think the 360 is a piece of junk, and that the engineers should all be shot.

What's your point?

Maybe you need to stop spending time with "some people" or reading "some people's" opinions, and focus more on the actual facts and with people who base their opinions on facts, and not just their self centered linear view of the world. :indiff:
 
The point is that the 360 is the 'everyman' choice and its the most popular console, there seems to be nothing people have to weigh up to decide to buy it, plus its the cheapest proper next gen console... as a result its considered a no brainer to the general population.

Even the RROD situation has not deterred some because they see the 5 years warranty as a thing thats 'better than Sony'. Also 'facts' are not so clear cut as some facts people dont even care about, such as processing power etc.

Sony now has to always fight an uphill struggle, it was the reverse situation with Xbox and the PS2.

As for my opinion I dont base my views on what other people say and what I see on the net, I am just pointing out the general concencous about the PS3 which is not necessarily how I feel about the console. However getting back on topic I do feel that MGS on 360 will do damage for Playstation.
