B&W stands for what? Botched and Wobbly?
How do you get approval from a car? Do they talk to you?
I'm just playin' :sly:

are you in drugs??

B&W stands for Black & White, get it?? BLACK AND WHITE, not Botched and Wobbly (maybe your cars are Botched and Wobbly )

the TCV3 rules says that, if you're going to use tuner cars, ask permission first.., if they talked to me then i would run faster than my Spoon Civic..,

LOL :lol: well anyways, i have yet to finalize the tunes for 2 of my cars (BTW i'm going to enter all 3 categories as well)

here's a hint for my cars:

FF: a very difficult one to tune, for pro's only
4WD: a very popular sports car (i hate this car because of its weight, but what the heck, it runs good)
RWD:another very popular sports car, driven by Japan's very own "Drift King" :D

*edit: see?? he really is on drugs.., just look at post #428, LOL

FF: Hmmm... Civic?
4WD: Some kind of Skyline?
FR: Oh oh I know this! Its a Yaris! :D

My Owdie is almost ready, just trying to cure some full throttle understeer its having. Who needs to back off the throttle?

i'm assuming you are also on drugs.., come on man, a Yaris?? FR?? i'm not that crazy and stupid

I was just playing, the FR clue is too obvious :sly:

Update on the Owdie situation: Still cant cure that understeer! Its fine if you back off the throttle, but I want full throttle madness!

Accusing people of being on drugs is my bit, and my cars wipe the floor with your little Type Rs. :sly:

Nah, he's from upside down, thus all the blood is packing into his head.. ;) J/K

I think all that thin air up there in the Northern Hemsiphere is going to your head, Down Under and upside down are very different.

As for all, bring it on. :dopey: I'm ready to battle this comp.

Edit: I wouldn't worry too much VTiRoj, that hairpin evokes understeer in every car. Have you got a wing though? Might help. Otherwise keep going stiffer in the rear suspension and that could help too. (assuming FR or AWD). What is Owdie?

I was just playing, the FR clue is too obvious :sly:

is it?? hmm, you're right, but i'll leave it just that..,

i think i'll create my update too.., 👍
FF: almost done :)
4WD: too much power
RWD: still waiting for permission......

@N4HS: you dare mock my Type R's?? bring it on then.., :mischievous:

No wing, looks ugly

Owdie is Audi :P

I will try stiffer rear suspension 👍

You know this is all friendly fun, so in that spirit- bring it on indeed.

Oh of course, that makes sense- I should have known anyway :dunce:
That would hopefull work but it may not. Worth a shot I guess.

I has no understeer issues with any car. they're all either neutral or tailhappy rascals. the S-Tune just loves rally-style 4-wheel drifts around corners, before blasting out of the apex like the famous bat out of hell..

My AWD car has a little pushy understeer at the tight hairpin and the following left hander but it's mostly fine and can slide if you're pushing it hard enough. Is it me or is that good characteristics for a 3000GT SR? (the normally aspirated 3000GT is my car, lighter and less understeery than the VR4)

Well it worked, but in a different sense. I softened the front a lot, and the understeer is less... there. :sly:

Going to work on it a bit more, soon it'll be completely neutral. 💡

good call on the NA version.

Thanks, hopefully thanks to that bit of smarter strategy I will be bumped up a few spots over what I would have been if I entered the laggy understeery turbo version. Speaking of lag, the S2000 "Competitor" car has it pretty bad.

Good, glad it worked.

Well the RS4 is as good as I can get it now, most, if not all the stubborn understeer is gone. All thats left is the natural understeer most 4WD's have at full throttle cornering. So, it shouldnt do too badly. Posting it up now.

This challenge is opening up to a lot of unknown before now cars. Such as the ASL I enetered and a NA 3000GT which I don't think many people have done before. I wonder how good a GTS25 Skyline could be made, there are a few cars after this I'm going to have to build out of the curiosity that killed the cat.

GTS-T is bit too tailhappy IMO, and will have traction issues with relatively low horsepower. just look at my Gekko Jr.

I love seeing those T times Rotary. 👍
Tells me that you really may be focusing on feel and not speed. 👍

As of now, I've found that the FWD I'm playing with is capable of dropping the T time and final lap time by great amounts when I reduce the weight and increase the power. However, the feel of the car isn't very good by comparison to the stock weight and less powerful version.

The only car I've managed to tune with high hp and good handling is my FR and that's running a mix of times (mostly based on the line I use).

After all is said and done I'm really looking forward to getting some great tuners out of this event. AWD is my biggest interest but the others will be very interesting as well. 👍

I wouldn't be so sure about dropping the weight. it seems to be a good thing if the FF has some weight. Some of the cars I experimented with (Lupo GTi, 200bhp and 250nm[Crazy torque for 1.6l ] and CR-X SiR'90, 250bhp and 230nm+[died on uphills..]) weren't too great since they lacked traction that the weight provided. Then I tried the Focus ST and found the perfect mix of torque AND power, coupled with Lotus-like handling.

I'm not sure I understand your point. One second you say it's good to drop weight and the next you say it's bad, all the while you tell me not to be sure of my own evaluation of the situation. :odd:
In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to testing a FWD with "Lotus-like" handling. 👍
(and here I thought my Civic from tcv2 was good) :boggled:

your civic from TCv2 IS good for more open tracks with less hills. and what I'm trying to say is, that FWD's sort of need the weight, since it weakens the wheel hop, especially in the uphill right before the finish line of Citta. if the FWD car weights under a ton (kg), it will lose traction there. atleast that was case with my CR-X and Lupo.

This isn't the place for the topic so I'll ask that we let it go or take it PM but I can't resist saying...

I totally disagree about my Civic. You should go back and test it (again, assuming you tested it without judging during the competition)... Though it is short on HP and the 5.??? pwr isn't very impressive, it handled very well (which is what I think is essential for tight courses). 👍

That looks to me like you agreed with me.
However, you said this...

I wouldn't be so sure about dropping the weight.

With that in mind, I'm sure you can see why I was confused. :dunce:
All's good!
Heck, I'm just glad to see I'm not alone on the weight reduction theories regarding FF cars.

In any case...
"Lotus-like handling" and mid 37s have got me very interested, I can't wait to do testing for the FF category (assuming I don't enter).

I'd be interested in seeing some quotes for sector 1 times on these cars if anyone is willing to share?

35.4 seconds in the refreshed NSX-R (it has 815 miles on the clock! ) in my hands, I reckon a good driver could crack 34s with it. :sly:

Edit: Noooooooo! 820miles on the clock, and the NSX-R has lost 1bhp! :( 356bhp down to 355bhp... noooo!

I didn't want to share times, but it seems the lack of torque despite the weight is hurting the ASL just a little bit. So:
ASL Garaiya T1: 35.403
Mitsubishi 3000GT SR T1: 36.557

I have discovered that using a wing only makes the car a tiny bit better as this track barely has speeds high enough to make it effective. Sounds like I won't have the fastest car after all, :grumpy:

Edit: That NSX time is nice, what speed do you reach going up the hill after the start line approaching the first corner? Both my cars ironically reach 200km/hr on the dot (120mph roughly).

Edit 2: I think the low weight hurts the ASL a little bit over bumps too- big power and torque helps here more than low weight it seems. Also Leo, that Focus time is simply awesome, I can't wait to drive it. As for the GTS-T skyline, what about the naturally aspirated GTS25 Type M? Probably less torque to make it taily.
