The Obsidian SG One Mustang built by CoupeR Design features a twin-supercharged, twin-intercooled 392 stroker engine producing 900 bhp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual Tremac transmission. The car rides on custom 18" front and 20" CoupeR wheels, while stopping power comes from 13.7" rotors with 4-piston calipers.

The exterior features an aggressive body kit, but the vents and air dams are completely functional, feeding cool air to the brakes. The body contains eighteen unique CoupeR designs. The exterior is finished with billet trim and show quality paint.

Inside of the Obsidian SG One is a 3000 watt Kicker sound system featuring fourteen speakers with 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound and satellite radio. A 10.5" touch screen is mated to a complete computer system with a 60gb hard drive, 2.4GHz processor, navigation system, and internet access. The interior is finished with handcrafted leather seats and a custom dash and gauges.

Damn... I don't think it looks all that horrid as I am a fan of 1960s Mustangs including the most recent one. I would have traded the hood/bonnet for something aggressive (while not overkilling), but that's about it. Nothing vanilla about this 'Stang!

PFFFFT! That!? Coolest Car EVER? Don't make me LAUGH.

the hood could definitely be improved. 20" wheels? no, this needs 17"s and Mickeys to handle all that power. The body kit...well, at least it's functional.

And, to tell the truth, I don't like all that power in that car, either. another reason for the Mickeys.

Nah, it's not that bad but it's no where near the coolest car ever. There's better Mustangs than that, there's some much better Muscle cars than that.

I am a fan of the classic Mustangs and that is exactly the reason I think it is an embarrassment to them!

You really don't get the full scope of the awfulness from the side.

I need to make a correction, it is that bad.

I agree. If you're going to name a Mustang as the official Coolest Car Ever, then you don't choose this one (or the godawful GT500E from the Gone in Sixty Seconds remake, either).

You choose a 1968 Mustang GT390 in Highland Green wearing 15" natural finish Torq-Thrusts as driven by Detective Frank Bullitt.

Honorary mention to the Bud Moore campaigned Boss 302's of 1969/70.

But it just looks so badass! And nowadays it's one of few cars that can match the aggressive look.

It looks.... ugly. If you want badass look at an Aston Martin V8 Vantage V600. Or a Vanage from the 80's, or a classics Shelby GT500 Mustang, or a TVR Sagaris. This just looks seriousely overdone and that's a: not good, and b: in this case makes it look particularly bad from the front. Even for overdone muscle cars, there's still better ones than that.

The hood has got to go!

It also looks funky in that the rear end is sitting lower then the front. It throws off the look of the muscle car style. The rear should be slightly higher or at least level.

brakes are rather small.....could have done with at least 15's
Why? You don't need 15" brake disks to stop a car quickly. You need brakes that don't fade, it's very rare, in fact it probably never happens that the brakes of a car are inferior to the grip levels of the tyre's these days.

Cool car. It would look better with a subtle minimalist approach, though. That, and it looks like he has a dead moose in the trunk. Subwoofers my butt.

Take out 2500 watts worth of weight and black out the billet intakes and grille and I'd take it. Leave the PC though.

It's nice (in a rice sorta way), but there's too many problems for it to be "cool". Aforementioned ride from Frank Bullitt aside, and the TVR/Vantage/250GTO/other-real-muscle-car brigade, one only needs to look to the movie industry for a short list of cool cars:

(Okay, maybe not the last one, but I guess if we exclude the driver....)

Wheels too big, and bigger brakes are rarely needed, just ones that don't fade.

RIDIC U FRICKEN LOUS hood. And I agree, it looks lower in the rear than in the front, which just looks like an over loaded civic or somethin in that sense.

Seen much much better work on a Mustang.

Yay for domestic rice to sum it up.

I agree with Layla's Keeper...

The coolest Mustangs will always be the Bullitt and the BOSS 302, and mind you, this is coming from a fairly hardcore Camaro/Firebird fan.

Simply put, this car is over-done. Too much metalic black paint, too much chrome, and other distasteful add-ons that do little to make the car look any better or perform any better.

...I like them stock. Maybe throw some S/S wheels on an old Muscle car, thats fine, but stock is best on the outside...

"As God intended them"

I like it, but they went way too far. I'll third the vote that the car needs mickeys and some functional Magnesium Torq-Thrust knockoffs, and to lose that damn hood.

@ Layla's: Were Torq-Thrust Ds around in 1968?

I hope you're aware of the huge oxymoron you've just said.
Maybe, um...

that is what he meant?

Anyways, coolest car ever? Heh heh...no. Not at all. Barring the fact that it is a Mustang made after 1974, and as such is disqualified from that standard anyways, this thing has more mesh-looking surrounds than a chicken coop. The car is probably 4 inches too low. The wheels are at least 3 inches too big. There are more scoops on this (functional or not) than a '98 Mustang GT. The list goes on and on.

Am I the only one here that knows the hood HAS to be like that? The engine sticks up too far for anything lower to be on there...

That doesn't mean the hood has to looks specifically like that. It can be done more tastefully, but that's still well besides the point and a point that no-one has attempeted to refute anyway. Whether it has to look like that or not, it's still too ungainly to be the coolest car ever imo, it's still an ugly car, a very ugly car at that.

And I do believe Azureman was referring to the suspension, the rear car seems to be sitting lower than the front.

And it can't be cowl induction, or at the very least not look like total ass? Ford has gotten around the tall engine problem without completely butchering what the front of the car looks like.
