I have a question. Now we all know that soon as you get a car on any GT, that you change the oil gain power ( I'm not sure of the percentage. I believe its 5% of the overall power of the car). Anyway my question is this, would it be better to MAX tune the car you want THEN do the oil change, or will it not matter?
I'm going to put this to the test tonight. I'm going to buy 2 of the same car and oil change one only and max tune the both then Oil change the other. If anyone else has/can done/do this I would be interested to know the outcome. It may be the same power results at the end of the day, but atleast we'll know that. Though if you gain a substantial amount of power after the car is FULLY tuned, then we could go to a bit extreme with some of our cars where we couldn't before.

Sounds like a good idea to me. That way when i get the game in a few weeks i'll know when to do the oil change to get max performence

no it is 5% of base Horse Power

Arrggghh! was hoping it was 5% of overall. I'll still give it a shot. Something to do. If it comes to no avail, then I'll have a fully tuned (insert car here) to trade with :D

Very interested to see outcome.

Does anyone know up until what miles this trick stops working? I've noticed I was still able to get increased HP when upgrading the oil on a new car even after I've already put in races.

I don't believe that miles count. It's just a trick (if you can call it a trick) that's been with GT since GT3 i believe.

It isn't really a "trick", they just put in a racing oil, which basically has a lower viscosity. Less thick oil translates into a tiny amount more power available (I would assume it isn't 5% in real life.)

I didn't get a chance to try it out last night ( didn't have enough credit to waste on 2 cars :P ). Did anyone else give it a shot?

Thanks panjadrum... that has been a pet peeve of mine since the gt4 days.... its not a glitch or trick... its real life, I use royal purple and love it
