The one thing that really bugs you about GT3

One thing they really need to change is the way you don't really know how the cars you are racing against are tuned. You can guess at this by relative performance to you own car but you can never know for certain.

This causes problems with knowing what mods to buy for your cars to win particular championships and also means you don't ever get to find out just how well you are driving. I think in GT4 you should be able to look at all of the installed mods, and also the power curves for all the cars in the race (including comparisons with your own).

Anyone else have any gripes that they would like to see dealt with in GT4?

yes but to be fair, in order to make it realistic you DONT know what tuning or tyres the competition is running, in a real race i cant believe that you can ask your competitor to give you all thier tuning sheets and specs before a big race....the challenge is not knowing and trying to fine tune your machine to be able to beat them...

what i hate are supras...racing, street, road, blue, pink black...i hate them all...i bump them off the road and like to make them last in any race....

oh and cobras too....both are unrealisically fast...

Cobra's unrealistically fast??? Up until not too long ago they were one of the fastest production cars money could buy. Having said that, I carried out an in-game test on a stock Cobra... 0-100-0 in a little over 11 seconds?! I think not.

Hi Murdoch..

by unrealistic i meant that when you or i drive them its like a tank in mud....but the moment the AI gets behind the wheel you suddely get whipped by them.....there surely not cheating are they??!!??

That's 0-100kph not mph, remember.

I agree Turbo, but in most competitive races you know what kind of specs the other cars are running (from the rules of the race) even if you don't know their tuning settings.

I know what you mean, they're a bit of a pig when you get a hold of one... racing against them can be deceptive. Then again, the AI drivers have the benefit of ramming the armco at will:D

The single most annoying thing about GT3 is the fact that I can't change the grid positions when I-linking 6 PS2's together.....

Without phyically moving racers around the different PS2's you have one guy stuck on pole all night, and one guy stuck in last etc....

Mind you, the way we race, being first in to a corner isn't always the best position to be in.........

Did have some fun playing "Dodgems" at test course last time out.... A 5 lap race, and at the end of each lap the guy running last has to turn round and race the wrong way. Winner is the last guy running.... Kinda funny to be doing 300+ khp in a GT-One one second only to find yourself doing -120kph then next.....

Well, we were all fairly p**sed by that stage.....

Cheers,

Rich.

RsGt - please go into the Online Racing Forum and slap your face into the "UK iLink Interest Check" thread. If you've actually done a 6 PS2 iLink, then you're a very useful Devonian to have around :D

the thing that bugs me is the stupid spider roadster cup pro. racing cars that are not eligible is wrong.

I hate the mismatching that the computer does of choosing cars to be your opponents. An example, I would take my 500+hp Vette Z06 and it would pit me against 787's, gtone's, R390's, etc. I would come in last everytime.

i believe any1 including AI who drives in a manner dangerous to other drivers should be "black flaged" and forced to quit the race.
also HP restrictions should be enforce on every race

Kind of a "Minor Complaint" actually :irked: but why does PD carry the Ratios in the Trans & Diff out 3 places past the decimal??? Two would be perfectly acceptable & we'd save lots of time when "Fiddling" w/Ratios. In all my years messing w/Cars in R/L I've NEVER heard anyone refer to say a "4.11" rear end as a "4.11x". JMO...UB57

yeah especially the Italian Avant Garde. they rammed my C12S and made me mess up so easily. i wound up just doing it the the zonda race car i aquired later.

btw, the game says "italian avant grade"
uhh... yeah.

What really infuriates me is the belligerent manner that the computer drives as.I think if that were to happen in real life, the driver would be immediately disciplined or suspended. Also,I wished the had more Audis and BMWs in the line up as well as a supercharger/turbo option.Just my rant

One thing that ****s me is that you can't cause any damage at all to your cars. I mean it may be a good thing, but it's not realistic. You can run a lap in the reverse direction and hit a car head on at 300km/h and not get a scratch... some form of damage would add to the level reality in the game. Then they could have a workshop of some sort where you take your car and pay to have it repaired, the same way in which you get an oil change. Just my opinion.

Oh and they should also add Holden in the Australian Dealership group. It would be a nice touch to have some real aussie cars in my GT3 garage.

One thing that has allways ticked me off is the speedo being stuck on either mph or kph depending on what region of the game you have. Other racing games have had the ability to change from kph to mph and back again so why not the GT games?

Getting back to the original point about not knowing how modded your opponents are, this is an important oint that will need to be addressed for online racing...

I think a system very similar to GT2 will be employed, whereby races can be limited by BHP, or whatever criteria the host of the race selects. I think that a BHP limit (like in the real JGTC) works very well, and ensures that races are decided in terms of driver's skill rather than car selection.

Why is there an analog and digital speedometer?

What's the point of the day counter?

AI that doesn't race you, let alone the other AI cars?

JTGC GT500 cars I've already beaten just keep showing up to get beaten again and again by my C-West Silvia?

i hate having to press ok on 4-5 screens just to buy/install a part, i would like a buy all level x upgrades button.

i hate the gt cars as your oponents when you are in a trueno AND are using a dift setting, are some more obvious choices in oponents too much to ask.

i hate the way the ai NEVER deviates from the racing line, never have an acident, usually make their tyres last longer than humanly possible, always stay in a single file formation hardly overtake each other and are always quite predictable in tearms of the distance they are from one another, and if you hace an acident and they pass you they will slow right down and realy bunch up further down the road only to become harder to pass when you are panicking and have only just recovered fron the acident.:irked: :O

i feel better now thats out of my system:)

grimreaper, that's actually a good point(1st one).

When were trying to fully modify our cars, you have to press it about 20 times. There should be a one click, all parts on. :irked:

Grimreaper, I have to disagree. I see the AI controlled cars hit take corners too wide quite a bit. I even came upon one on Cote d'Izur track that was completely hung up on the chicane on the back half of the track.

Usually, I notice that the AI has problems on cars that don't turn as well.

I hate those stupid scroll banners. They suck. If people bought decent TVs, PD wouldn't have to put them in.

Reminds me of toca 2 championships, smash the guys rear bumper in front and ur off for an early shower.
Hp restrictions are a must, how boring is it going back to Sunday cup with an F1. if ur going to do that at least use a Mx5 or an avantzato or sth

well said Ving

Hmmm. There's no 'one' thing that bugs me about the game which really sticks out.

- AI (much better than GT2 though)
- Lack of cars (especially Nissan Skylines)
- 1/4 mile times too slow due to the lack of decent launching physics.
- Ford and Holden (Australia) aren't in the game. (i'm talking about road cars here. I would love GT4 to peices if it had the BA F6 Typhoon in it!)
- CHEATING AI (catching up with you, keeping up with you, slowing down for you, suddenly gaining more power in the middle of a series etc...)
- Not enough statistics (i'm sure they can find more stuff to add)
- No Ferrari F50. :(
