The computer racers....

I am getting REALLY pissed off at them.

I refuse to call them AI, because that would mean that they were intelligent. But these guys race like 3 year olds

What do you do if someone in front of you hits the brakes???
SLAM INTO THEM!!!!

The most annoying part, is I believe that the computer racers have actually TRIED to hit me, many times.
They come into a corner behind me, WAY to fast, to the point where they hit me on the inside, and still are going too fast, so they hit the wall.

I am pretty sick and tired of this, I try and race fair, but then they play bumper cars.

PLEEEEEASE!!!!! tell me that they will have better computer racer AI in GT4. I need to be able to race a good race, where if someone spins out, everyone slows down and avoids that car.....as opposed to pushing that car 500 feet down the road.

well the first part also applies in real life. someone in front of you hits the brakes, you slow down don't you?

and the 2nd part is the emotion AI. you hit them good enough and they payback. the worst part is when they hit you at 150mph right in front of a hairpin

I never liked the way the AI races. I can't stay in the pack and still drive qucikly alot of times because I'm too busy watching when they brake and stuff.

Over the years i've learned how they drive and have adaped my driving to try and race amongst them without contact. (and it works most of the time)

So try learn their driving style and you'll be right. :)

The AI in GT3 isn't as bad as V8 supercar race driver. I don't even have a problem with the AI in GT3 really.

The AI is plenty stupid, but just relax, and drive away from him/them. Don't put yourself in his/their way. After a while, you'll get used to him/them.

I just adapt myself to them. There are some races, where I will try and make it fair, by giving myself a car which when I push it will be as competitive as them and then I find I don't have the problem. Overtaking can be a real pain sometimes, especially when I try and do it without contact. I frequently find myself out braking them into a corner on the inside (this mainly occurs with places like Monte Carlo and Seattle) with a fair manouver and they just ram into the side of me into the wall, I bounce off loose tones of speed whilst they drive off fine.

I usually deal with them.

well, usually, I pass them and thats the end of that, but I enjoy close racing sometimes, and the computer cant race close at all. Especially if your using T2's and they're using T5's. The kinda assume that they own the road, and their line.... but oh well. they all loose in the end.

I have gotten into some big fights with the computer, real slam fests. I wil not be pushed around easily ;)

eh, GT4 should be better in this aspect.....right?

no, not at all.

I race quite well honestly, but I have little tolerance for the computer running me off the road ;)

I think that it is just the fact, that the computer will be right next to you, and no matter what you are doing, the computer WILL continue racings ITS line, and if you are in the way, you get run into. I think that is a silly way to program the coputer racers, in an amazing game like this.

My sig sais it all. No car goes unpunished in a race against me. The AI are children... so treat them like such... stay behind and mess up their world when the time comes. I usually just sit right be hind them and gun it so they end up going full throttle into a corner... usually puts em in last place after that.

i think the AI bothers everyone, but hey on the bright side. if the Ai does suck on Gran Turismo 4 there will be the Online Capabilities. that is SURE to put a challenge at your own home, ;)

well... i do!
it depends on the situation

scenario 1:
coming up to last lap, tires are red and you have a <10 second lead on the ai who are either not gaining or are gaining slowly... I dont pit.

scenario 2:
coming up to last lap. tires are red but you have a healthy lead of 15 or more secs but you are all over the place... why not pit? IF the ai pass you then with new tires you should be able to make the time up again, where as if you dont pit and you either have to go real slow or crash and spin you could very well loose that lead

sound reasonable?
I think so
