Am I the only one who bought it? After previews of the game calling it a slideshow on the PS3, maybe. Metacritic. Only an 83 vs. the 360's 96, quite a drop. I bought it because I really wanted to play Portal and Ep. 2 and my computer is no where near the right spec.

Portal was great and TF2 has the potential to be more fun the more I play it.
 
This game was one of my must-buys for PS3, but after the horrible previews and the surprising awesomeness of Call of Duty 4, I decided the urge to play Portal and TF2 wasn't enough to justify the purchase.
 
I'm glad I'm not taken by COD 4. alows me to enjoy more than just one game online. Currently playing Rainbow Six Vegas and Unreal tournament 3, Both great online games. I may give the Orange Box a try.
 
I don't really see the value of it...An old fogie of a game in HL2, a lame and frustrating one-sided game in Portal, and some game that is worthless unless you play online in TF2.
 
Some people have not played HL2. its good for them and some have not played Episode 1 and 2.

I think it got a lower score just because of the frame rate. Not a reason to give it a much lower score. On its own it an OK port.
 
I must admit, I got it on release, and having played it on an aging pc when HL first came out, they really dropped the ball with this, I played it at 1600*1200 on pc with everything on medium and it still looked better than this conversion, why in heck didnt they make it 1080p and why such low res textures, they could have easily bumped everything up to the max and still would not be touching the ps3's power, but all in all the game its self is good, not as good as HL1 but thats a different matter, Portal it awesome and TF is as mad as anything, I havent played ep1 or 2 so im looking forward to it after completing HL2 again.
 
Good to get an opinion from a GTP user. I may rent it even though i have it pc i'd rathe use a controller so i dont have to sit o close to my 32in HDTV. The keybord is like 8 inches from it :)
 
I am personally very pleased with orange box! The biggest reason they dropped scores for the PS3 version was because the game suffers some framerate issues here and there and the load times are pretty bad. But that only affects you if you suck and die alot.. All in all im glad i purchased it. Portal was a great gaming experience complemented with an absolutely awesome credits song! yes the game is too short but its a hell of a lot of fun... TF2 is great once you get into it. The visual style is solid and makes for an interesting game. Basically, If you've never played Half Life 2 before and are interested, even somewhat, in portal or TF2, you should buy this game. This game gives you lots of fun playing time as well because of having 5 games on the disk. Solid purchase. But if you have a 360 or PC buy it for that console.

I've already played Half Life 2, learned the story of EP1, and Portal doesn't catch my interest.

So, looks like I'll save myself $30, and just buy TF2 through Valve for $20.
 
I have it for ps3. My two month old pc died at the time of the half life 2 release so I never got to play it. The frame rate dips on occasion, but it is in no way unplayable on ps3. Certainly worth a purchase, especially considering how cheap it will be now.
 
This is a good place for this:

We know Valve is working on Half-Life 3...and I'm gonna guess that it will be released with a slew of 3s: Half-Life 3, Team Fortress 3, Portal 3 maybe Left 4 Dead 3. I love how Valve has all their big titles with a sequel. This way they can release all the 3rd parts at the same time. :P

Who here plays Team Fortress 2 on PC? I'm getting very bored and frustrated with the average pub experience so I was wondering if there was anyone here who would be interested in playing together. I have just under 650 hours so I'm not the best player in the game, but I'd say I'm still a pretty good Heavy main :P

I have been seriously intending to download this game... Never played it before, so I'm probably not the person your looking for, but I am in a weird position that I know a very considerable amount about the game and the weapons and maps and mechanics, without ever playing it... Why? This one youtuber...

You should definitely download it and try it out. It's free, so the only limitation is your PC, which doesn't need to be that good in the first place - I can run it just fine on my Lenovo laptop even if I don't use a graphics config.
 
Yeah, I just received a pretty darn decent laptop, and I'm close to 100% positive it will run it just fine. Funny enough, the first thing I'm going to do I play as a spy, just as almost every single noob does.

Nah, the noobs pick Heavy and try to shoot down snipers across the battlements at 2Fort :lol:

I like to play Soldier with the Direct Hit and Righteous Bison to be as annoying to Snipers as it's possible to be without going Spy :mischievous:
