NFS Porsche Unleashed... brilliant game!!! :)👍

I'd love to see a remake of it... it would be a megahit!!!

I prefer the driving and game concept of TNFSSE and PU for PC. Though I probably had more fun with NFS2SE and NFS3HP thanks to splitscreen.

I started the series from the get go (TNFS), and had lots of fun with all of them... but if I had to choose, for the fun side of things, it's a tie between NFS II SE and High Stakes, and for the other side of the coin, it has to be Porsche Unleashed.

Have a good one

That's kind of a tough call because the early games were all a lot of fun at the time they released. Overall I guess I'd have to go with NFSIII: Hot Pursuit. On the PC version you were able to play as the police (or even split screen with both human players chasing the AI drivers). On the consoles you weren't able to play as the police until years later in HP2, and even then I think only 1 player could be a police unit (although I could be mistaken). I'm pretty sure I spent more time playing NFSIII with my friends than any of the other games in the series.

HP:III was pretty much my first ever game, it's the one I spent all my time on. I remember, my father knew I loved it so much, he set up a tiny lan party and bought two wheels just so the two of us could race at the same time.

Can't choose between Hot Pursuit and High Stakes, heck, why not just say both. Trying to pick up the first 2 and PU just to try them
offtopic: how many new NFS will be like that in 15 years? Easy answer: None, nada. They don't satisfy your need for speed :sly: plus imo nothing says NFS more than "46 to county, in pursuit of a yellow Diablo, by the Covered Bridges"

wow, so many and I have ALL of them running on my PC.

NFS SE
The cops, although not fast, are present but they have no road blocks, spike strips, choppers. The AI is very decent and the physics in this game are very good. See my video. I really should upload that higher res one.

NFS III HP
Ya ya, more cops and watch out for the vette ones, they can keep up! Night time!! Weather affects your speed, radio chatter. Can hack the Ferrari's and Mercedes and use in HP mode. hehe

NFS IV HS
The cops are getting better, and the spot light from the chopper was cool for its day. Cars now get damage!!! Race for slips!!! This always scared me, hate to lose a car. Slight customization of cars. Bonus cars! Love that blue Porche.

MCO MCO MCO!!!! It lives!!
http://gtr.uk.pn/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=1
The hours spent building engines, running the dyno, buy and sell parts/cars in the auction. WAITING FOR YOUR WEEKLY PAYCHECK!!!! The physics!!!! Wear n tear on parts!!! Nothing, nothing comes close, NFS world is crap compared to MCO.

NFS UG1 & UG2
Customization glore!!! The racing was fun too, much more arcade racing, but with lots of traffic, made for a very good challlenge!

Most Wanted 2005
Probably my favorite
Story, COPS, chopper, Cars, customize, open world, physics. Smashing cops with a DUMP TRUCK, delivering the pizza in pizza car hehe. Missing weather and damage. :(

Pro Street, SHIFT 1, SHIFT 2.
Actually more for SHIFT, loved the real feel and sound of the cars, tunning just crazy!!!, Tracks, vinyl creating taking days to complete on one car, but can be unique. Night time, damage. NO COPS :( But its not supposed to be :)

The Run
The constant changing enviroment, story short, but worked. Physics a little strange, but worked.

Undercover
Only because I got to smash the bad guys around trying to save carmen. That was fun!

Hot Pursuit 2010
The Action! Although some of the (weapons, really? couldnt they get a better name) that Racers had was not what you would really find on racer cars. Im thinking more the older SPY HUNTER ARCADE game....Da NA Na na Da NA Na na Da NA Na na smoke screen, oil slick! Bullet proof, opps wrong game.

whoops, just realized you said original games. 94-02. oh well, I gave a bit more :)

<--- JBX KevRok in MCo, creator of the Ranchero Run, and the guy that convinced EA to sponsor player events and offer prizes.

I had an awesome time in that game (and it sort of saved my life, long story).

Too bad Someone on the Board had it in for the game from day 1, else it might have had a chance...

Absolutely.

I liked NFS2 a lot and had some good times with 3 and High Stakes, but Porsche Unleashed had so much flavor. I tried the PC version in recent years but it's not the same as the PSX version.

PS1 and PC versions of Porsche Unleashed were made by different studios; EA Canada did the PC version and Eden Studios handled the one for PS1, that's why they're different from one another.

I grew up with the PC version, but I bought the PS1 a few years ago. Surprisingly I found it enjoyable despite what I've been warned about. But I still have to give it to the PC, it was way ahead of anything during its time. I even think it's better than most NFS that came after it.

ahhh crap!!

I forgot to add NFS PU to my list, shame on me.

The Evolution mode and going through 50 years of car release and races...I dont think another race game has ever done this.

Also Factory Driver mode, some of those stunts as doing 360 spin between the cones some times was tuff, or deliver the car with out damage.

Well to be honest, my oly favourites were High Stakes for PS1 and Hot Pursuit 2 for the PS2. Both games had a beautiful track design and the cars were almost perfect. The Underground Series were also very cool because of the customization and the free roam in UG2, which was something new back then.

Any collectors out there who have or know about Over Drivin' GT-R (JP Saturn) and Over Drivin' Skyline Memorial (JP PSX)? These two have been on my wish list for a long time, haven't checked on their availability.

High Stakes was a really fun game, pretty much what started out my interest in the NFS series. The two Undergrounds were great fun, and gave me hours of enjoyment, so much so that I have played them through around 5 times.

Carbon was okay. A little too short though. The Undergrounds still remain favourites for me.

I'll just explain my thoughts on each that I find relevent. I never played the original when I was really young (came out 94-95) but I actually played it during middle school/highschool so i got a feel of what it was like from a decent point of view of a gamer. I enjoyed the FMV, and the car listings. One thing I didn't like was the controls, you had to be very careful (PS1). Along with that I didn't like the fact that if you did mess up you'd get owned by the computer which i think is a nice touch but still. Definitely a very good game concept to come out with as the original props! I liked choosing the RX7 or the NSX! My second favorite would be Need for Speed 2 for the PC (yet the playstation version i found actually handles wayy better then PC) me and my friend would spend hours trying to play lap knockout tournaments and he'd choose the McLaren and I'd choose the Lotus GT1 so he was fastest car, I had best handling. I liked the graphics and it was a nice step up from the original, plus the maps were really nice and put together better then the original in my opinion. My favorite would be need for speed hot pursuit 3 for the playstation. It just had everything the police, the exotic cars, the excellent arcade type feel but you still could kick ass. My favorite thing to do is try beating lap records on Hometown with the corvette even though it was the slowest car :P... I liked the maps all of them were really nicely done plus the car selection and the new night time/weather was amazing. Alot of people forgot about the Need For Speed "V-Rally" one and two. Ill just be brief with them, excellent idea, but poorly choreographed. The handling sucked, the graphics were okay for the year I'd give them that, the cars were cool but the games were just more a pain then fun. Other titles in the rally racing division definitely surpassed NFS Vrally series. Then would probably be High Stakes because of the improved 3D graphics, plus the ability to be a cop (someone above posted you can't but yes you can :P) also the helicopter was cool, but the best part of it i'd say is the competition is super tough, and the police are actually super bothersome alongside tough. I also liked the fact that you can turn on your headlights, use turn signals, and the code for free boost :P. Porsche Unleashed I actually bought for playstation as well, and I thought that was a good game. I spent hours trying to figure out exactly what I should do as far as advancing and picking out what cars to buy throughout the eras, alongside the free roam with the police and the old towns and village looks was amazing. I eventually bought every porsche new and used from each era so i wouldn't put mileage on the new porsche but i'd have the same one to drive daily if you will :p. One pet peeve with that game was the handling, disliked it, felt like tokyo xtreme racer series, just super soapy. When playstation 2 released Hot Pursuit 2 that was a game changer for me, it was a total suprise that they came out with Underground series because when HP2 came out i was amazed. Excellent driving mechanism, excellent graphics and well done cars and police plus cinematic scenes! No beef with this title at all! When I bought underground was amazing i bought it for PC, and beat all the career modes that it would allow (7 of them i believe) plus the online modes were so fun! I did get annoyed of the guys saying this n that all the time, loved the customization and it felt Fast n Furious-y type. Underground 2 i had for xbox live and that was a good time as well and a decent step up from the first! Favorite was the "drag" mode, because i'd always try to time the shifts. Plus there was this mod/game error where you could modify your gear ratios in a sequence that everytime you did it, you'd recieve .10 of a horsepower, so you do it 10 times and you got 1 hp to keep forever, so some people with no life whatsoever would do it like 1000 times and have like a stupid fast ford focus hatch out of no where lol...Ever since then I really didn't play any of them maybe because I outgrew the idea of Underground they kept with the following titles...

High Stakes was my first NFS. Wish the ps3 made games with the quality like they did on ps1. Chasing Nemesis in that orange McLaren. Good times.

My first Need for Speed experience was the original the graphics for its time were awesome.

The first Need for Speed was good for its time and it had the in car view.

High Stakes was good because I can clearly remember trolling every aspect of the car with the turn signals and headlights. Gameplay was good as well.

Porsche Unleashed was awesome! Porsches; enough said.

Hot Pursuit 2 is my personal favorite though. The cops were on top of their game with this one. How many games can you say that the cops fired rockets at you to try to stop you?

Or drop bombs on the road that took out you & everyone else.

Just a heads up, I got a malware warning from my anti-virus from that link, don't click unless you know what you're getting yourself into and/or have a good anti-virus set up!

From what I have played. Need for speed undergroun 1 + 2 was great. Bought few NFS for ps3, was a fan of the games when i got them but when i play it again i dont seem to have the fun that i used to have. Nfs underground alls fun every time i play them.

Fell in love with Hot Pursuit 2 again this last weekend.. So much I decided to start a walkthrough where I'm working on getting the first parts ready for the end of the Easter (have in mind I can only work on it every second weekend) :)

It may be off topic but I read your complete post in the voice of Mordin Solus from Mass Effect 2. The construction of those short sentences, they're spot on!:dopey:
