Could we keep the posts regarding your thoughts on the patch in here, what works and no doubt what dosn't. Theres a number of us waiting for this to go live and no doubt there will be a number of online GTP races coming soon 👍

The force feedback adjustment is great.
The AI level adjustment is there as well.
I have also tried the online play and so far have had no lockups and failing to see who was in lobbies.
Looks like the devs have done a good job.

Online works.

Just had 6 races on the trot without any major problems, the last race at Monza was very close between me and somebody called DCS Tuning 👍

However, the game does sometimes hang when people join and exit the lobby. And the cars can judder back and forth when you get near them on track. I haven't played against anybody in the UK yet, so that may improve when you play against people from our own country. The game also has in-game voice chat or am I hearing things?

Right had a little time with it now......IT WORKS!.....right thats the main point done LOL

So a few bits I noticed, theres now a force feedback option in the setup menu which is great news for us wheel users. Also the "turn names off" in online races is there as well in options, the sound is now much more balanced gear changes and pacing cars don't drown out your own engine anymore, stills sounds as fantastic as ever just a little more realistic if thats posible.
Ok onto the real meat, online! Well I'm glad to say it's fixed and then some! I've just been in a number of races (around 8) First up Lag.......WHAT LAG! Yep never saw a single car do anything other than smoothly drive around the track, no swerving or jumping, with the names turned off I could have been in single player, even with a cloud of smoke everything stayed rock solid. People coming in and out of lobys during a race use to dump the conection....well nope thats fixed, although I did have one race where the game would hang for a split second when people poped in and out, no biggie I'd say it was a poor host conection as it was a 16 player race and it only happend in the one race. Right something new, in one race the host left.......we all kept racing! only when the race was over and we went to the loby after the race did it then dump us out of the game. Right then theres coms....well I was in the lobby waiting for a race to finish and I spoke with an Italian in the race, so I'm in the loby he's raceing, and the coms were crystal clear, seriously clear, I only knew he ws in the race because I could hear his TV in the background LOL
So what else? well this part is all subjective, firstly the framerate seemed much more stable, the clock displaying time in front and behind seemed to update much more smoothly and ore often, oh and collisions, now thats changed, there seems to be more reaction to bumps, I got cliped once and missed a braking zone and cliped a guy as well, much more reaction from the cars now on contact. That leads onto collision detection, on the 2 occasions the impact felt real enough and when it should have been LOL
Well what else? I never tried single player so I can't comment on the AI changes or anything else regarding single player, I also never tried my wheel (yet) so although I saw the force feedback option I can't coment on how it changes that aspect but I'll look later. What I can say with total confidence is this is the game you need to play online, it puts GT5p to shame and I hope to see plenty of you out there, the patch has only just hit so theres not a huge amount of race lobys to chose from and all seemed to be the generic car type but no doubt as word gets out that will change this weekend, I finaly got into a 16 player race with a full grid, it's a sight to behold ta spa with a full field winding up the hill!

Right so lets hear your impressions on the patch I've only really had a short time on it but first impressions are excellent and I didn't see anything I didn't like, Ferrari Challenge is fixed guys, see you on the track!

Edit
Nearly forgot, at the end of a race there a "victory/parade" lap to give everyone time to finish, your car is computer controled and trundles round at a sedate pace like in single player, for marathon races this is a good idea to let everyone finish as battles could be going on at the back of a 16 player field and suddenly having 30 second counter pop up as the first place guy crosses the finishing line could be a tad anoying! during the parade lap simply pause and then select exit to loby to finish Oh and I saw a number of guys get disqualified? One for parking up on the side of the road, the others I'm not sure as I didn't see what they were doing but I only had 1 idiot in 8 races, straight line he blocked me by trying to ram me into the barrier as I passed.......I saw you disapear behind me as his power was cut for a penelty! the 2 bumps I had I hit a guy on accident and a guy hit me on accident resulted in no penalties, both collisions didn'tresult in offs apart from the guy I shunted in the braking zone, we both went straight off into the gravel at a chicane we both therefore cut the corner, but we both didn't gain a position or time so we both didn't get a penalty.....seems the penalty system works well, though to be honest if I did get a penalty for punting the guy off I wouldn't have complained seems the game realised I was braking hard at the time and noted I didn''t gain an advantage.

- framerate issues have been reduced
- In time trial you can now see at the loading screen what time you got to beat
- sound in bonnet view has been improved (no more cloth in the ears)
- on beginner difficulty it`s now possible to reach the first place on the Paul Ricard track in a 15 minute race

So far the patch seems to be good.

AI changes I've noticed while racing a quick race at SPA

- Trying to break the toe on the straights, I saw one car moving across the track in both directions.

The cars are still too slow on certain corners, Eau Rouge for example. You can carry at least 30-40 mph more than the AI cars while going through this corner. It makes the races too easy, even on the highest differculty level.

I hope you dont mind that i have posted your review of the patch over at avforums to inform some of my friends.
My steering wheel is great now in the game after i reduced the feedback.

Yay am so glad this game is fixed. Just doing a few time trials to get my eye in!

One thing though, it does not seem to notice the fact i have no TC or SC on, in the trial it claimed, when viewing the laps,, that the laps were set with these aids on...

Sorry had the "names turned off, sorry I left that silly racing line on as well, good race though, got caught up in the midfield but got a second whilst gabbing away with jambo LOL
I'll be on later hosting some races, feel free to join in or add me to your friends ist

Hereward

This Patch has definatly fixed the major issues with FC, lets hope when the servers fill up they can handle the traffic LOL

Anyone racing now? What car? Just downloaded the patch and I'm wanting to RACE!

EDIT: Now I've raced, I was shamefully slow (it was Mugello, I think, I do not know that track very well) against JamboGT and a french guy. I was so pathetic they even let me win it :dopey:

It was a session hosted by amar, but he left in the race start. However, the race went on until the finish, only then the session was closed. Nice feature. 👍

Jambo's car was a bit laggy when we were close, but not exactly jumping all over the track.

I have a great problem, if someone can help me, please do. I connected my Logitech headset to the PS3, but when going online, a message apperas saying that "chat is disabled in my PSN account due to parental control". Well, I'm the parent here, so I checked all parental control settings in the PS3 and put all them off. But the message kept appearing (even tried to reboot the PS3, without success).

Any way to solve this?

I'll have guests to dinner today, so I don't know if I'll be back until tomorrow. Enjoy this game, meet you all soon!

Headset problems may belinked to the date of birth you used to make your PSN account...check to see what it was and if you got it wrong....sorry sounds daft I know but a simple error to make.

And now for the bad news....oh yes theres bad news! for those with non 900 deg wheels you may notice your "dead zone" is so small the car won't go in a straight line, even with wheel responce on low and FFB on low! It looks like the guys with 900deg turn are being suported but not us lowly 180's. Tried everything but the car just wont have it, looks like I'm stuck with the pad as overtaking whilst gently zig zaging up the straight is a bit tricky LOL Lets hope a future patch is made available to fix this. Apart from that everything looks good I hosted some 348TB races at spa earlier and all was well it would be nice to see what car is being used when selecting a loby although you can search for a specific model if you like but it can be hit and miss with the small numbers online at the moment. Also I've noticed it will only show you lobies which have a good conection to you, I tried jumping in a loby that jambo was in but couldn't find it even with the hosts name and with no way to send friend invites this could also prove problomatic.. These are not serious flaws of course just minor tweaks that would make the game even better along with private slots and the ability for the host to kick players, maybe in the next update Mr Cale?

Yes i agree with you they have done all the hard work and now we have a very good game.
With a few minor tweeks the game could be even better.
There is no need for us to get our pitch forks out now as they have delivered with a good patch and on the day they said we would get it.
The online as it is now blows Gt Plologue away.
After playing it most of this afternoon i have not seen much in the way of lag like you do in Prologue.
No cars jumping all over the place like frogs on a hotplate.
The other thing that i like is all the races i was in were raced pretty cleanly.

I was in a lobby with you tonight were you playing with a wheel or gamepad.
I have just started to use my wheel again after the patch and its taking a bit of getting used to.

Gamepad as there is NO deadzone on a 180 wheel. I said earlier, partly in jest, to see what happened when the servers filed up.......Looks like they have and looks like there letting the patch down! I hosted several games but come the start the 7-12 players droped down to 4......every time. So thinking my )ahem) 10 meg conection wasn't up to it I jumped in a few more, including a few of gordies........same thing happened, come the start of the race 9 times out of ten the field would be decimated down to 4 players.......I'm now just fed up completly with it. It's ben turned off and wll stay that way for a while now as I'm away on holiday on monday. Hopefuly either this is just me or it's a simple server fix which can be done very quickly. I've had a glimps of what FC can do online only for it to be destroyed again within 12 hours........I'm off to listen to moresy CD's

Oh Gordie I wasn't sure if that was you, I'll send you an invite, fraid you got me at the point of utter frustration trying to find a game with more than 4 cars in it LOL My coms were off as the expletives where flying but I think I kept the car together on the road but apologies if I didn't LOL

And finaly it's official Germans do a U turn and become the pains in online racing games.......Only had 3 people take being passed badly and decided to shove me onto the grass on the straight.....each time a German! come on if even the Spanish are racing clean what gives?

Hereward Lord of Zenophobia LOL

Well the online part is still a downer. At least getting into a game. Lots of disconnect to lobbies. It's not fun this way.....grmpfff

AFter 1 hour I just quit! Its a complete letdown to get racing...:indiff:
When you are in the race which I managed once...my own lobby I had a great time. But connection to other lobbies....its a mess. Just saw amar, hereward and geordie and thought finally to race them online. Again I got disconnected........

please system3 sort this out because it ruins to even try online....

I tried to join one of your lobbys a couple of times and got disconnected.
I noticed a few lobbys with a lot of players but like you say after a few minutes they were dropping down to 4 or 5.
At the time i just thought it might be people dropping out of the game.
So i set up my own lobby and had about 4 races with no problems.
You beat me in the race any way.

I think whats happening is the host is being given a max number of people in the race (they can't see this of course) then you fill your loby up and start....it then becomes a case of the guys with the best conections stay the rest get kicked, I'm running 10 meg and I never got booted from other peoples lobys but when I hosted I would see all the guys in my loby disapear when the race started! so whos got the T1 conection? I want to race with 16 again LOL This wasn't happening earlier today but as the days gone on it's got worse. I really think it'sa lack of servers........not supriseing as no ones been able to play it then wham, everyones on LOL
