just sent my list , but i would have liked to have at every categorya Top 3 or something like that . to choose only one person is not easy and maybe not fair .

I'll have to agree with nanabu.
This way will generate more votes to a particular photo or person, and that way a winner could be recognised.

So, whats with his idea? Because.....I try to nominate right now and it's really harder than I thought to only pic one.

now you cant change it anymoar because so many has already sent in , maybe next season .

i had lots of trouble deciding who´s more awesome at the moment -_-

but never the less it is an awesome idea and i would like to see the result of this :D
 
Yes, I think I'll definitely have top threes for the next one, there doesn't seem to be a clear winner in any category...

Keep those nominations coming :D
 
One idea for future awards, 458 - you may want to change "Best New Photographer" to "Best New Gallery", since it relies on the latter's start date :)

I've just submitted my nominations - I just want to say here that I apologize to the 20 or more people I wish I could've included. One of the greatest aspects of the Photomode community, especially in comparison to the other off-shoot sub-forums in the GT5 section, is that it is just that, a community. So many people, working together, helping each other, with no secrecy and no ill will - it's why I've always enjoyed being a part of it. I always want to do what I can for it (and Jordan has been generous enough to let me expand some of my ideas), but really, everyone in here deserves a solid pat on the back for making it all worthwhile. The Super Mod status bestowed upon me a week before GT5's release has helped me run competitions more smoothly, but really - it's all of you regulars who know the rules, and point newcomers to them each and every week, that helps this section thrive.

I'm not around as much as I'd like to be these days, past putting each new week's comp threads up, and it's one of the worst possible clichés, but everyone deserves an award 👍

I made my choices now. Hardest ever I had on GTP. No poll choosing came close to this! :sick:

I will get my nominations in before close - it's a very tough set of decisions to make - so hard to narrow it down to just one in each category.
I wonder for future iterations of these awards if we could go with a ranking type system, whereby we can nominate our top three nominees in each category ranked in order with points being allocated according to rank.
Something like 1st choice = 10 points, 2nd = 7 and 3rd = 5 or whatever. Then the nominees with the highest points go through to voting.

Any thoughts?

Also, it would be easier for everyone if someone (or more people) with alot of experience here makes a Top10 list or so.
Like it is at the oscar awards etc.

You get to choose from this Top10's and send your winner (or Top3) to 458.
Like this a lot more people should vote and it's easier to get a clear winner out of it.

IMO this would be a bit more interesting for everyone. Of course some would disagree with the chosen Top10, but who doesn't at the Oscars etc.... ;)
 
I don't think we can have an elite selection of people choosing a Top10. It simply is against what the PM community has always been about. Even though a Top10 would be easier to work with ;)

This nomination round was hard for me because I had to select from a huge 'all time greatest' group of people. Next round I will focus on the currently active photographers only. I believe that this will work out very well after a couple of rounds :)

That said, maybe we need a nomination round, and THEN a poll. So it's more like the Oscars. Natos idea with points is also good 👍 So, maybe nomination round could be about points, and the Top3 in each category could go to the final Award Poll.

Thats what is happening here.. :lol: This weekend I will collect all the nominations and open the voting stage, which should be easier for more people to vote, without having to know the ins and outs of the PM community and its members. That thread should go up sometime next week. Sorry if that was not made totally clear.

Also, next time around, I will make it 3 nominations per category I think, as people have been saying, to make choices easier :)

Just a reminder that this stage will close in approximately 2 days if anyone wants to do any last minute nominations

Also, I have decided that everyone who got a nomination will make it to the voting stage, as in most categories, there are many things with just one nomination, and in one category in fact, nothing has more than 1 nomination :dopey:
