And he is powered by The Matrix of Leadership (or something to that effect), Which also means that as long as another Autobot is alive, he has energy. (Again not entirely sure, I can only watch it at 8AM on Sat.)
Plus since Voltron splits into 5 things, shouldn't it split his energy up x5?
