PD should update the pit lane algorithm, its often a pain in the rear end when you try to leave the pits and you keep stopping to let cars behind drive through you. Given that getting good track position for qualifying in championship is crucial, this needs to be addressed. Even in the warm up its a pain and should be fixed. grrrr... :)
 
pretty sure the way it works is if it detects there'd be a collision it'll give right of way to whichever driver hit the exit button first (rather than the car with the 'track position' in pit lane).

That said, I'll always wait 45-60 seconds before heading out to qualify... except on ovals. where you need the slipstreams
 
I always wait in the pits for qualifying sessions until at least the last car is 50% around the track so I can have some clean space for a quick lap

That is a good strategy unless its an "oval" race.In that case when Q is important to have a good,clean racer in front in order to "draft" and get a better lap time. ;)
