I’ve really fallen in love with my Porsche GT-RS clones I’ve built. I’ve already posted my 700pp Porsche GT2RS build that is awesome for all the Hypercar Parade races and most all of the 700pp suggested races, but for this challenge I took out my GT4RS clone against all the Porsche Cup races to see how it would do. It is a 600pp tune so it is 50pp below the 650pp threshold. That makes this quite a challenge for anyone playing in hard difficulty, but it also makes these races really engaging against the AI. Your biggest contender is Carrazza in his GT3, but there is a guy in a GT3RS that brings some speed at Spa.
I thought this would be a challenge but still an easy win over all 6 races. Turns out I was wrong. I got 3rd place at the Nurburgring (lost by 7 seconds due to a spin out in the rain), 3rd at Spa (lost by 4 seconds) because the leaders really increased their pace on the last couple laps, 2nd at Lake Maggiore (lost by 1 second), 5th or 6th at Catalunya because they just outpaced me, 2nd at Kyoto (lost by 2 seconds despite taking the lead on lap 4), and 1st at Laguna Seca taking the lead on the penultimate corner of the last lap.
Generally speaking it was a fun series of races using the exact same car with the same setup for all 6 races and really grinding my way through the AI to try to get a win.
Can you beat the Porsche challenge and win these races with my GT4RS clone setup?
No wide body, Aero is Front Type A, Side Type A, Rear Standard, wing is Custom Low, Type 09. Wheels are standard diameter, wide/wide.
The tune on the car is as close as I could get to real life stats. The HP/TQ figures match what I found online along with trying to match the power curves by adding various tuning parts and tinkering with the computer and power restrictor. The suspension is adjustable, but the setup I have offers good handling that is compliant but not crazy. It has a very neutral feel to me. The Aero is good but not Gr.4 levels, so high speed turns still need to be taken with a slight lift on the throttle. Other than not having 7 gears like the real car (not an option in the game) I feel like this is a good representation of the real car. Yeah, it probably should be on SM tires, but if I did that it would perform almost exactly like a GT3RS and I don’t think that’s how Porsche designed it.
Anyway, I would love to hear what you think about the car, the races, how you did, etc. Have fun and hopefully you can win the races. If not, hopefully you got a good challenge from the leaders as they pick up their pace in the last couple laps.
