Sure...a V10 from a Viper of LFA is practical and cheap enough for my budget. :p The 1UZ and VH are still of my interest. I know how you guys feel about automatics...but it just fits this car the best.

Hey, you might find one at a Wrecking yard... maybe...

Ok, no.

That'd be amazing...but I've got a budget of around $1.6k at most...for engine and tranny. Depending on how much I can save up before school and how little I can spend on the car itself.

Edit: That poor Murcielago.... :( Not just the fact it's burnt, but what the owner did to it.

screw all the people above me. Get this:

Um, don't really see anything other than a message saying "Please visit allpar.com to see this image and more. You will probably need to reload your browser (flush its cache) to see the real images at allpar." :odd:

Idea-
Find a trashed Audi, put the powertrain in the Toyota. Boom. Now you have an Audi and a Toyota.

Haha, such a Subie fan. :p I was one...

Hey, I'm a Subie fan to my heart! ;)

That is a grand idea right there. A Audi engine and transmission inside a Toyota, you'll have the best of both worlds. Hmmm... A Toyoudi.

Or how about this: A RB26DETT from a Skyline, that's been bored and stroked to either a RB27 or a RB30, with the 6speed transmission and if you want it; the car's AWD drivetrain. Make it a Nissyota. ;)👍

Or get a LS1 or even a LS7 Chevy block and transmission and make a beast out of that Crown. 👍

The owner just called to have another talk about the car. I attempted to talk him down, but of course I've never done such a thing. So it fell through. Price dropped from $850 to...$800. Still fine, but was hoping I could get some more off... Owner said he'll hold onto it for me though.

Urgh I hate Allpar. It's a 392 Hemi.

My friend found a 2JZ for $1600 with all that's needed (including shipping in the $1600). Yes it is an automatic gearbox, but we'll be modifying it to work with the classic gear indicator in the car. :D It's actually just $100 more than the 1JZ w/ auto and the 2J has less miles on it.

Is it a GTE? Doesn't matter though I think 200 horses would be plenty for this car and the auto transmission probably suits it pretty well for cruising especially if you are not looking on modifying the rest of the car much and just having a nice enjoyable classic

Well, at least you and your friend ran into a steal right there. Is it a GTE aka the Twin Turbo version of the 2JZ or the NA 2JZGE engine. If it is the turbo model, you just nailed a rare bargin. 👍

The majority of the 2JZGTE go around for 5K-10K and even more if it has low miles. I'll be in total shock if it's a turbo!

If all goes well (Hoping it does for 'ya), this'll be the coolest Toyota on GTPlanet.

Also, I found this when looking up the engine, lol.

Well screw you then if you're not gonna drop in a V8. But JZ power is cool, and native.

He could get a Kanye gearbox that only connects to the engine occasionally.

Well...I'll save fuel costs... I think. And sorry about not responding to the question about what 2JZ it is. It's the 2JZ-GTE. So yes, it is the turbo. :)

Despite lowering the price by $150, the owner is still letting me take the spare Celica-Supra Inline-6 with a 5-speed transmission. It needs a rebuild (was left in the yard...) and I'm not going to use it, but I'm thinking of taking it and selling it to get some money back. :D

That's a steal right there if it's a GTE in good condition

It's said to be low miles... My friend does buy his engines at the place so it is trust worthy. I believe it might be called something like JDMenginedepot or something like that...? Or some other site...

A Twin Turbo 2JZ?!?! Like Jessie would say..... No 🤬!!!!

Under 2 grand for a engine that usually goes around 5k and more, you sir, got a steal.

Now about that Celica-Supra Mk2, if the engine is in good condition and you want another project or to give to a friend, why not keep the engine somewhere?

With the unfortunate problem of the Celica-Supra engine and tranny sitting outside for who knows how many YEARS, I can only guess the thing's only as good as scrap metal... Well, may as well recuperate some money out of it since going lower than $800 fell through.

Thanks! I've been unsure of what would be a good fit for the car. They look great! Got photoshopping skills that may help? :dopey:
