The question I have is not searchable, rather opinionated

It is more of a public request of what they would do in my shoes in the state I am in the game.

So far, I am at 30% and have finished professional and some of the extreme events, the endurance events.. some as well, only one that gave me the minolta, at this point.. for some reason the urge to complete the rest is starting to wear off like the challenge is not becoming much as all I would have to do now is complete 24 hour Nu. and get the F1, then complete the F1 championship and then the rest is cake from there. Is there any other things I am overlooking that would still be interesting to complete? Before I had an urge to keep playing, but now its slowly wearing off.. what should I really do? Have you ever felt this way?

and btw, the missions are almost impossible, the hard level ones. especially that mini van challenge.

mini van? i did that first time. use manual though.

i never get bored of GT4 its kept PES4 in its box. poor thing.

How about NOT using the Formula GT Car for anything BUT Formula GT??? :indiff:

In fact how about attempting the Formula GT Series with a LMP Ride? :scared:

How about running against LMP Cars with a JGTC Ride? :)

How about running against JGTC "Sr" Cars with a JGTC "Jr" Ride? 👍

It continues to AMAZE me how many people take all the "Challenge" out of the "Game" & then complain how "Bored" they are! :irked:

ABSOLUTELY he most Fun I personally had with GT3 was completing 97%+ using only "Road Cars!!!" & I'll most likely attempt it again w/GT4!...O.G. :D

Kapowza! A knockout! btw...uh...I did that with the F090/S in GT3....but it was still fun! You know, seeing if you could lap the field a certain number of times in a race. I'd get really pissed if I missed lapping second place the same number of times as everyone else. Not gonna do that in GT4, though. (partially because you can barely race it anywhere!) 👍

I'm with him on this one. I usually try to run the same type of car for a particular race. Ex. a JGTC car in the JGTC race. A prototype against other prototypes.

What's the fun in taking a Formula 1 car and destroying the competition in GT Pro Worlds? I was very satisfied with my win because I didn't tip the scales in my balance with an F1 car.

But I will go back and re-race it again with an F1 car :) Hahahaha!

I've put B-spec on auto-pilot for all the endurance races, I have all the prize cars and stacks of credits but only 32% done. I did that simply to get the cars I wanted. I've still got loads of challenges, the F1 car won't be used yet (aside from the hard wet races) because it makes it too easy.

There's not really a lack of challenge unless you enter everything with an overpowered car, I could use a minolta or F1 in the Japan GT which I haven't done yet but it would be no fun. Winning the German Touring or Capri rally several times can make the game too easy, theres as much challenge there as you want there to be, my next stop is the Civic challenge.

I never claimed to be good at the game! I just wanted to complete all the wet ones and see what the prizes were like so I used F1 on the ones I knew I would struggle with, I did try the Tsukuba one in other cars but couldn't do it.

When I've done some other stuff I plan to go through the events again with weaker cars so I can improve. With my lacking skills it wasn't exactly a walk in the park with the F1 :guilty:

How many differnt cars have you driven ? With the ones you have driven have you driven them enough to get a good feel for them ( meaning more then just once race series ). Are there cars you like, but maybe for whatever reason do not drive that good in stock form, well then spend some time and try tuning and changing the settings so that they can perform at some level. Are there certain events or maybe even just tracks that you like, well why not keep using different cars and gradually keep lowering the horsepower ( with a goal of seeing what the least horsepower can get the job done ). So Many things to do so little time

Damn OG, that's one hell of an accomplishment! And while i've finished pretty much all of the races, I still have the Driving Hall missions to keep me busy, getting all golds on the Formula series, getting all golds on my license tests, and actually using all of my 600+ cars. I look forward to playing this for a longggg time.

It sounds as if your avoiding the challenge, just to get the prize. Not to be mean, but if your impatient, then that's the way to go, but as everyone else has said, the challenge is the learning and is the fun of this game. I've been trying to race with equally matched cars, but later on I'll deffinatly be racing w/undermatched cars for 'the challenge' of it all.

I'm with you though to win all the prize cars asap-just not willing to sacrafice the exsperience.

Gold all the licenses and do all 34 driving missions, lots of fun and you get really good as well

Let's have a big "Amen, Brother!" to that!

The game is far from perfect, but there's no doubt I'm going to get two full years out of it. As I progress, I'm taking notes on what I'll be coming back to do again in different ways.

Hell, I know I'm going to spend six months running the GTWC with every single Prototype. I'm going to run the DTM with every one of those cars, and ditto the JGTC. I'm looking forward to seeing how slow a car I can win the Japanese '80s Championship with. I can't wait to get back to the Lightweight Cup and try it again with a couple of more of those little roller skates!

I could go on for hours. The game is as challenging or as boring as you want it to be, just like GT3. You can customize it into whatever you want, and its vast scope gives you a huge canvas to work with. Those who are getting bored are not using their imaginations.

(WHAT IS UP with these people who use the F1 in non-F1 events?!?! That's as cheap, cheesy, chickens**t, and boring as it can get!)

Yeah I'd have to agree here. For me, I just forget % completion and trophies, anyone can do that (besides some of the harder challenges, etc.). I enjoy tuning my favorite cars and just hot lapping to see how well I can get them to drive. Also I'll buy a car for a specific purpose (ie: drifting) and see how well I can tune it to do that. I've spent time just cycling through "wheel of the day" lists to put a certain wheel on a certain car.

I definately wouldn't associate race wins with challenge though. A-spec points aren't enough incentive for me.

I have found the f1 car is not as good as they were in gt3. they handle far less easily and they have much lower top speeds than the lmp cars (it gets owned on le sarthe) and it wont win extreme easily

As far as mission hall races are concerned, if you are having trouble with the minivan race, I see two possible things out of that statement
A- You completely suck and are hopelessly never going to finish mission hall
or (the more likely choice)
B- You need to actually practice each mission and correct your race line, braking point, turning point, etc etc until you actually get good at these races. What fun would mission hall be if you could get each race on your 1st or 2nd try?

Have faith man, you'll get it eventually

hmm, i found that my "meat and potatoes" of the game is doing the manufacture races with as near as stock car as possible!! an example: the lupo cup car against all other lupo cup cars at the nur was a blast. Is it just me or the better ur bspec driver is the better the opponents are to?

i found something i never tampered with before, the potential of drift cars within the game. btw i added a sense of humor when i mentioned the minivan challenge.. when i went back to re read it lol it sounded serious.. but you get my point, yes the challenges are hard but i was just being impatient.. i guess my main question was

where should i go from here

now i guess i know, im really loving the adaptive physics of each car depending on what you tamper with, one little setting can **** up any beautifully tuned masterpiece..

im working on drifting, and wrx spec c seems to do the job really well.

thanks to everyone that replied. i enjoy criticism even though negative.. sometimes i purposely exploit it from posters to see their true comments, i see what there is to be done more now.. and yes, i guess i did think about not going for a challenge

i liked several suggestions, especially the one of lowering HP and seeing if I can still continue to output win after win.. and it's getting interesting seeing what else I can do.

oh and for the record, i dont use F1 at all.

wow i didnt even know it was possible to win the F1 challenge with any other car at all? the minolta seemed like a scion racing with a C5 in that race

thanks guys, any other comments welcomed

As somewhat of an OLR regular I think it's safe for me to say I hate doing all the races. The drivers suck (AI). Nothing pisses me off more than to be making a beautiful pass in a slower car and the damned AI runs me off the road as if I weren't even there. I'll stick to 2 player with friends, OLR hot laps, i-link/LAN, license tests and fixing up/buying cars for the joy of it. I LOVE this game, just not the AI racing part of it.

How can you get bored of it so fast? All those cups... all those cars

Let's say : if you won series 'X' with a car that had 750 bhp and 1000kg, than do it again with a car that has 'only' 650 bhp and weighs 1100kg.... and so on.

Don't enter the race immediattely. (spelled correctly??)

Qualify in first, adjust some settings, try to go faster.

And for gods sake, don't, just DON'T B-spec enduro's unless you've won them by yourself atleast once. They're the fun in the game. Anyway, just my €0.02

Running the CLK-GTR in the Japan GT Championship in B-Spec equals utimate boredom.(though I was eating lunch). Did it again with the Motul Z then the LM Z Race Car. If you do no challenge yourself of course blasting thru the field over and over and over will get boring and lull your excitement for finishing the game. Tweaking the Motul now and expected to use it for the GT All Stars and GT World C'ship that will certainly keep me busy for a while.

Hmm.... 30% done, bored. That name looks familiar... Wait! The WRX Spec C takes the cake!

Sup BK!!!!!!

<-- ferno in da house! (Initials from another name on the old bike forum)

taking o'er tha world...

This doesn't make any sense. You say you're bored because "the rest is cake," but you go on to say you can't finish the missions. Make up your mind!

If you're truly bored, try going for maximum A-Spec points in races. I tried adding up the total amount to be won and got around 100,000 points. I just got over 20,000, so there's a lot more to go! :)

I have no plans to use an F1 for anything.
I used an F094/s for a LOT of races in GT3 which left many of the professional cups un-memorable.
I had recently completed the Formula GT with the Minolta and had a blast!
Pit strategy, tuning and tires made it a fun challenge.
But like anything in life, you get out of it what you put in.
Little effort....little gratification.
That's why I cant comprehend the rampant use of Bspec with a lot of gamers.
The only time I can see myself using it is for the extended endurances.
I'm 35% done with 10,000 Aspec points and about 1,000 Bspec points.

It seems to me the flames are cooling off a bit. You're infatuated, you spend a few passionate weeks together, and then you lose interest. I feel for the women in your life!

Seriously, though, I have yet to race a good close race. And A-spec points don't mean anything. This game is going to take some hard work and extrememly selective tuning to yeild good competitive races. I'm talking about not making collision passes and winning by less than a second on a 10+ lap race. The difficulty I've found is in finding a car that can keep up with the field (or at least not lose too much) on the straights, and reward you for some good driving around the rest of the track. The closest I've come so far was using the Vantage in the AM manufacturer race (I always do the manufacturer races bone stock--which means no refresh on the used Vantage). I guess it's just an example of A-spec points not reflecting the difficulty. The Vantage was WAY harder than the Vanquish, but the Vanquish gave more A-spec points. Slower off the line and out of corners, heavier (slower cornering speeds and earlier braking points), and only very slightly faster on the straights (HP finally overcoming weight). Still, the AI brakes CRAZY early for every corner, and HK was only a challenge because the roads are so narrow it's hard to brake late and find a line through traffic. It makes me wish I could detune my stock cars and make them less powerful for more of a challenge. Or that the AI would try a little harder. Hold on now....

I'm at work. Isn't there a place where you can increase the AI difficulty, or is that only in Arcade?

The key is to create your own challanges, though even if you use your fastest cars to B-spec all the rest of the races, the Mission and Special Conditions halls alone should provide ample challenge. Nevertheless, look for ways to spice up the other races, whether that means bringing a GT300 JGTC to a GT500 race, for example, or always using cars in stock configuration only. The possibilities are endless.

Hi,

I have a question. How can I see what car I can use for what race or league to keep it competitive. I hate it when my car is 100x faster then the others and I also hate it the other way around... I couldn't really find a thread on this one.
Why doesn't GT4 limit power/weight in it's races, so that you can't cheat. What level of arcade difficulty do you have to use to have a fair opponent?

I just want fair races, besides that... I LOVE GT4!!!! :D :D
