Title is pretty self explanatory so i'll kick it off

Rarest car i've been drivin in is my dads Saab 9-3 Viggen, less than 3000 made (probably a lot less from noobs torque steering of a cliff :P)

Rarest car i've seen is a Yellow Monte Carlo Saab 9-3 Viggen... 1 of 68 EVER made, i think thats pretty rare :P

I sat in Nick Mason's 250GTO at Goodwood last year... quite rare... only 36 ever made

The rarest I've driven is a Porsche 993RS (at Oulton Park)... only 40 right hand drive models produced.

Post edited to stay on topic.

Rarest car I've driven is probably the Nissan EV-12 prototype, since there were only two in the world when I drove it as far as I'm aware:

The Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is fairly low production too I think, no more than a few hundred cars, and I've driven one of those too:

LEt's see. I've seen a Ferrari 512BB, an '88 Lotus Esprit Turbo HC and just a couple days ago, I saw a '59-'61 Studebaker Lark VIII convertible.

either one of these (in white), which I just sat it at a local car show:

Or one of these (in cream), which I got driven around in:

This seems very similar to the Did You See Anything Good Today thread.

It has turned into that and unless people want it to get locked then a "Driven / been driven in" discussion is a better option.

That we are not currently talking about in any other threads, I will amend the thread title as needed and keep an eye on things.

Be very aware guys, this one goes off topic to 'yeah and I saw.....................' territory and I will lock it without a second thought (more than busy enough on here these days).

Scaff

Whoops, my bad. Was posting rare cars (not just anything willy-nilly) but forgot the whole driven/sat in part.

I saw (and sat in) Nick Mason's 250GTO at Goodwood last year... quite rare... only 36 ever made

Uhhhh, did you take this picture? If so, that car you saw in the background is rarer than any of the others you mentioned. 1 of 1. Look up 'Ferrari Breadvan.'

Yes I took the picture, and I know that's the 250 'breadvan' in the background, but as far as I'm concerned it's a version of the 250

Like many Ferrari's of that era, there are plenty of one off 'coach built' bodies adorning various chassis.

Rarest car I'd driven - and this is probably based on number existing - is gramps' '51 Chrysler Windsor.

Rarest I've seen...Probably the Dureya at that museum in peoria.

Seen? Not quite sure what the rarest one was. Recently saw a red and black veyron driving down rt 36 in New Jersey. That in it self seems rare.

Driving on the other hand was definitely the Ferrari F430 Scuderia I drove summer of 2008. If you guys don't believe me I had a write up on it from 2 years ago in here somewhere lol.

Rarest I've been driven in: Ferrari 208 GT4 Dino (Yeah, not very rare)

Rarest I've seen: Current generation Ford Focus RS (Again, not exactly rare in most of Europe but only 315 of them got sent here)

Rarest I've sat in: Lamborghini Diablo VT at the Adelaide Motor Show

Driven: Either the 74' 246 Dino, 91' Lamborghini Diablo, or a 67' Corvette 427 Roadster

Been driven in: Ferrari 550 maybe? I've been able to drive the rare cars not just ride in them.

Seen: Im not sure, I'll have to look through my pics of the Monterrey Historics. There were a few real Cobras and a Daytona Coupe. Maybe the Aston DB4 Zagato.

The rarest I've been driven is either #52 0f 100 Dodge Viper GTS/R or an Ultima GTR 720, which felt like it was faster than light.

I have seen loads of rare cars when I went to the goodwood motor show however it probably is the mclaren f1 lm, only 5 were ever made. But the rarest I have sat in are either a DBR9 after it finished Le mans 24hour, Or the 2007 williams f1 car. The rarest car I have ever been driven/drove in is probably my dads lotus elise 111s.

not the rarest of cars but i've been driven in a ferrari 360, what a great experience

with regards to rarest i have seen, i'm reluctant to count goodwood as its so frequent and they almost don't feel as special, and they always have a field of one offs. Veyrons are common right? so i think of ones that are less likely to be on show or my favourites in that respect, Zonda PS, BMW Nazca C2, Ferrari FZ93, Espace F1, Andy Saunders' Stratos Zero, GT90, Ford Corvair GT - and a few i like with a bit larger production but rare as hens teeth, Bricklin SV1, Elva Courier, Panther Solo, Spectre R45

rarest iv been in was my mates Iso Lele IR6 Sport, he had a one of 5 RHD

sold for far less than it should have

Driven : 1929 Model A.It was only around the block, but still was really cool to be behind the wheel of one.

Been in : 1971 Hemi Cuda convertible.1 of only 11 cars produced.I just could not persuade the owner to let me take it for a drive.

Nissan GT-R
F430 Spyder
Maserati Quattroporte
Audi TT RS
Renault Megane R26.R
Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Porsche 911 Carrera 4 S
Audi R8
Bentley Continental Speed
Ford Focus RS
Lotus Evora
Lotus Europa
Mitsubishi Evo X FQ 360

And that's only in the last 2 years.

Hardly "rare", but at least as far as special goes, I've ridden in a '76 911 2.7L on slicks and with a ton of suspension work and in a F430 at some autocross events. Haven't driven anything remotely rare. :(
