To explain, the point of this thread is to discuss cars that are returning from any of the 4 previous games (GT1-3, GTC), and cars that have been with the series from GT1-GT4. These are the cars that PD seemed to want to keep with us forever, and hopefully make it into GT5. Of course, GT5 isn't the point and does not really need to be discussed here. The 3rd part of the topic is cars that are leaving us.

So I'll go first, and use this as an example...

The Dodge Viper GTS- GT1-to-GT4.

This car was one of my favorites, and seeing it make it all the way through the titles was awesome. This was always the first supercar I bought before anything else, and plan to do so with GT4.

Now for a leaver...

Dodge Viper RT-10-GT1-GT2

I was hoping to this return with so many others from GT2, but it seems PD didn't get it. Although replacing it with the SRT-10, it just wasn't the same. The car was excellent and a fun car to drive to in GT2.

UPDATE: Thanks to Stune for an idea of tracks as well. Tracks are also part of the discussion now.

The stayer - Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. (I am ignoring the Japenese auto manufacturers)

I don't drive this car, but I still keep one in my garage. It's like a collectors item to me

The leaver - Mazda Lantis Race car

This car was terrible on GT1. It was so slow. I've never ever driven it and I can see why. It has never come back. Thankfully
 
Stayer:AE86 Corolla GT1-4. Even though most old cars perished in GT3 this one still remained to hold it's own against the miata (or another underpowered car). AE86 I salute you :bowdown:

Stayer:Evo IV GSR GT2-4(not sure if it was in GT1)- Why they kept this car is beyond me

Returner:1986 Toyota MR2 1600 G-limited Super Charger GT2(probably in GT1 to)- Although lost in GT3 this car makes a comeback in GT4 and is aiming for the title of "Old School Cool".

Sorry for the cheesy car introductions needed something to say. :dunce:

GT2, not sure about GT 1
but yes, the mid and late 90's mustangs, I was soo sad to find out that they were not there when I got GT3 and then to find they wont be there again in GT4, but at least the 05' is in GT4, and im just wondering why they havent put in any old mustangs, i mean the've got many other muscle cars, but no 60's mustangs.

The pics I've seen better have been from GT4. I'm sure it is in........ Again.

It's probably a Prologue pic, but all cars from Prologue are in GT4 aren't they???

Well, other than it being modified by Shelby, what about the Mustang GT350?

I understand the reason, but I'd much rather have the 67 or 70 GTO than the 64 tripower...those just look better.

ok heres one. Its sort of a returner bit its not strictly true. Of course im talking about the vauhall vectra (commonly known as opel vectra in europe) it was in GT2 then left out of GT3 then the new model returned for Gt4.

Also i dont know if we are doing tracks aswell here but high speed ring is a returner. It was orginally in GT1 and 2 but never GT3 now its makes its return for GT4.
Special stage R11 is a strange one becouse it was on GT1 left out of GT2 back in Gt3 then left out of Gt4 making it an inbetweener if there is such a thing :)
 
As an owner of an RT/10 Viper I was dissapointed to see it gone in GT4. I also missed the White GTS-R's from gt2 as well. I only hope that when GT5 gets developed, they include all previous cars, and the ability to DOWNLOAD newly developed cars.
 
mrhemi1971, at least they kept the Viper Concept in....they totally muted the styling of that car in the production version... Might as well file the teeth of the viper down to nubs.

If they allow you to download cars....you'll see the PC version come right after that ( although I think Sony would allow that to happen about as quick as everyone on this board agreeing with each other :D )
