The Rigidity Refresher Plan definitely works.

I wore out my Mercedes CLK Touring Car by using it to repeatedly B-Spec spam the DTM series for huge piles of cash. It has probably earned me over 50,000,000 so far. I've been buying up super-expensive cars like I was Jay Leno or some Saudi Prince or something.

It was always unbeatable with the speed set at 4 and "overtake" on. However, when it got to about 3400 miles it lost some handling, and was no longer able to win the Nurburgring race.

After three consecutive losses on the 'Ring I tried the Rigidity Refresher Plan for 50,000. Money well spent. The old war horse is right back up to speed, taking the lead on the 'Ring about two-thirds of the way around, like always.

For the record, the car already had the roll cage stiffener option installed. Also, I do change the oil often.

heck, the way I drive, the option becomes available every 400 miles or so :p ...but I bet if you checked you would see it is available for any your cars way before their oil turns dark...

So, I take it, this is something that should be purcased for those who buy the Black LM cars?

If its available in Settings, you should always get it, I guess. Apparently its availability means the car needs it.

This saved my two black LMP's. I was starting to wonder why everyone was so into them after driving them a couple of times.

They're much better now. R92 CP beat the 150 mile super speedway endurance by over a lap and half! That was running against a fellow R92C. Of course that required a stage 4 turbo. The NSX-R LM you win is pretty sweet!

AHHH that makes alot of sense, i wondered why it was available for some and not others, thanks :D

DON'T EVER GET THE ROLL CAGE!!! It's makes the handling crap! I did it on one of my cars and I regret that, That's why the car is no longer with us...

there are alot of cars that benefit from the rollcage modification, though you do sometimes have to change the suspension settings to remove the understeer which the stiffer chassis gives

I agree whole heartedly.

When you say the handling goes to crap, what was happening? Understeer? Oversteer? The rollcage is a great addition, but you've got to make adjustments to compensate and after that's complete, the car is way more connected to the road. If your settings are just slighly off, the effects get exaggerated with the addition of a rollcage.

Rollcages in real life are great additions, but as alluded to before, they transfer more road inputs through the chassis to the driver. This is good, but only if your setting is good to go along with it.

anybody know when the black beauts will come back? Im on day 800 and somethin...I missed them on 694 or 8 or whatever
Every 694 days they reappear, they stay for 7 days:
694 - 700
1394-1400
2094-2100
2794-2800
... and so on.

thats a long time away..Im on 923...I should just go buy wings and return to normal for a while...waste of money but it'll get me to day 1394 in a hurry...any better ideas?...and tp devilsmaycry yeah you can buy the refresher every 400- 500 miles but I ussually do it every thousand as a rule...but its alot of cash, so on a car that blows away the AI on every race you use it on, its not really needed, but if it's your endurance car, and your racing against LMP cars, you might want to think about doing it before the race, just so you dont end up wasting 2 - 24 hrs of your time

rigity first, because if you read the scrolling print it says if you have the roll cage, the rigity refresher will take the shape of your car back to exactly how it was after you installed the roll cage, if that is crap....then I'm assuming the refresher will take you back to crap...w/o the cage, it will take you back to brand new shape...so I would say dont risk it and do the refresher first...but read the fine print and choose for youself

Thats strange, I have never changed the oil on my or done anything but change the ratios, lower it and add a huge turbo. It still wins by about 10 seconds on nurburing and more on the others. Whats your B Spec Skill?

i was just browsing around to see if my used skyline needed the rigidity refresher, and i checked the rollcage option ("increase rigidity") and i had a thought. this may sound stupid as it seems a bit obvious now, but i take it this rollcage will decrease the frequency of the refresher? has anyone bought the refresh a few times and then bought the rollcage and noticed a difference in the number of miles between refreshing the chassis?

Good question. I have no idea.

(Meanwhile, I ran Sarth 24-Hour with a Pesky '04. Tried it after the race with 4900 miles on it, and was horrified. Wandered all over the straight, and bounced out of control on the back side of the track. Bought the RRP and it was good as new again.)

i bought the refresher thing and used it, noticed a marked difference in the cars but my question is-- what happens next ?? do u refresh it or does the game do it automatically when the car needs it ?????? 💡

you have to manually do it when the check box disappears.

if you drive into things a lot (cars, walls, animals, people... etc..) you'll need it a lot more often.

Why have we been sold a quite technical game with absolutely no information or instruction on how to use that technology, where is the 100 page manual, and seeing this is supposedely the ultimate driving simulator, why couldnt they have simulated a horn, I want a horn.

now that I know how rigidity refresher works I am going to go home and drop a mil and a half on refreshing all my cars that can use it. I only did it for the cars I bought used before. Now that I know, I realise that my clk-gtr needs it bad, and a bunch of my other cars probably do too.

when I'm done I am going to spend another mil on roll cages for cars that won't stop turning when I put one in.

Then I'm going to go win special condition 2 12 times in a row.

where you modify other cars in the other category at the bottom middle, and you can only do it when a checkmark isnt on it (to my knowledge, all used cars with maybe the exception of 6.2 mile cars need the chassis refresher)
