The RUF thread.

I can't believe they haven't even bothered with one single RUF "premium" car. There goes taking a Yellowbird around the ring in cockpit view.

The hell PD, the hell.

Dont mean to get off topis or anything, and i dont know if anyone has answered this. There is a problem with obtaining the Porsche licenses for PD, and so we're using RUF. i happen to love RUF, but i also wonder about Gemballa. has there ever been a thought to including Gemballa? or is it something about them that doesnt make it appropriate for them to be in GT5.

Whats that? I cant find it on youtube, does it go by another name?
Insane Driving its called.

Thanks! That video is insane! I've been running the ruf's around the ring on GT4 lately its great. Actally looks about like this video, tons of oversteer!

So how goes it RUF fans?

I have been looking out for some RUFs in the used car lot and so far I have seen some RGTs and a CTR2.

The main car I'm looking for is the BTR. I haven't seen it yet in the used car lot. I wonder if you can win the BTR and the Yellow Bird in any competitions?

Nissan and Honda, to many cars from those two companies. It's embarrassing looking at their car lists and than looking at others...

The imbalance of car representation bothers me too, but it may be a case of access. Perhaps Nissan and Honda are way more forthcoming with offering help (diagrams, photos, hands-on time). It may also be that Rufs are much harder to come across. Probably some mix of both.

And the fact that PD operates out of Tokyo, thus the popularity of Japanese cars and Tokyo based tracks.

So, there are four Rufs in the game right? I found the Yellowbird in the ucland bought it in a heartbeat. How do the Rufs compare to each other? Which one would be THE Ruf to own if you could only own one?

well it all depends for me the yellow bird it is by far one of the most challenging cars to drive but also the most rewarding.

the ctr2 is awd monster
rgt is rwd high speed monster
btr is a good all around car

I have a yellowbird with 730 hp. Crazy fast, but hard to control, even on a straight line

There are actually five RUF cars in the game.

- CTR Yellow Bird
- CTR
- BTR
- RGT
- 3400S (A boxter derivative)

The 3400 is standard just like the other four but is very rare.

Finally got a yellowbird, I did it up, soft slicks and tweaked the suspension but I have returned it close to stock and just have fun with it.

2 year bump, Bringing the RUF thread back from the dead.

anybody tried using actual porsche specs on the ruf's? i used the 1992 turbo specs for my yellow bird, it was an amazing ride.

I think here could be a good place to post your Porsche specs and Porsche colour/rim/whatever combinations. Many people are doing them and I think it's great.

Even aside from trying to get a glimpse of Porsche in this game, the Rufs are definitely my favourite cars in the game, especially the older ones BTR and CTR. Definitely most fun to drive out of all the cars I've so far tried, with sports hard or comfort soft tyres and/or turbo upgrades. Turbo upgraded Yellowbird with the old cockpit shake was definitely the most intense experience I've so far got from this game.

yes i love the Y.B and BTR the most, my favorite being the Y.B, fully tuned or slightly on sports soft tires it gives you one hell of a work out, few of the cars you really have to work with on a 1 to 1 basis to get around a corner successfully.

I've done the majority of the below (body/wheel color)to my RUF's in game.
