The S License Is Such A Friggn Pain!!!

its so annoying. I just decided to get my S license...it took me forever to beat the 1st test and I can't do the seconda fter over 6 tries. In some ways I think Sony made the license tests a little TOO hard, to the point where its not fun anymore...

Interesting. Glad to know I'm not alone (: I don't know that it's to the point that it isn't fun anymore, but it is definitely more challenging than it needs to be.

I'm not trying to brag but I got all golds on those. They were all cut lse though. I think the closest call I had was by like .009 of a second. I found them quite difficult too. I worked on those the whole day. I can understand where you are coming from though Stealth. They were really tough.
 
I think they are hard, but they should be. They are not hard to the point where someone can't do them and then can't progress in the game.
My best advice is to watch the demos, and don't go too aggresive(unless you're going for gold), if you do the course rather well you will make it, it isn't always worth trying to do every turn perfect and just messing up a little bit and going off course.

I can agree with that.

I got into a bit heated discussion with a friend of mine. I accused him of 'trying too hard', which he does in most games. (he needs to learn to relax). He said that if you (generic person) don't drive as fast as possible, then you don't have any chance of winning. I laughed and said, it doesn't matter how fast you're going when you hit the wall head on, you're still going to come to a complete stop, and watch everyone go whizzing by.

The point is to go the fastest for the course, which includes maintaining a controllable speed. If your car is out of control, you might as well forget the race.

I got my 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th S licenses on my first try, but it took me forever to get S-2. Also S-3, and of course S-8 are a pain in the ass.
 
The tests are hard, agreed. They are not too hard though. If you turn right, and don't make mistakes, you'll easily get bronze.

Watch the demo. Watch the demo. Watch the demo.

Learn how to position your car for the next turn. Remember what gear/speed you should be in for every turn. Use manual transmission.

The test on Seatle 2 is doing my head in; the 90 degree right after the shallow right at the bottom of the hill gets me every time (along with the first chichane) - I need to shave 0.128 secs to get bronze :mad:
I really enjoyed the test on Special Stage 5 in the wet with the Trueno though :D
 
trophy maker has it right - watch the demo, watch the demo etc.

The Special licence isn't too bad I thought. Okay, S2 and S8 are rock hard, but all the rest are quite do-able in about half an hour each. I consider myself a fairly average player (71% win ratio) and I managed it.

Watch the demo and then just use your own ghost car every time you get faster - works every time!!

Oh yeah? I found a couple of the IA test hard enough, thank you very much. So this will be nightmarish for me then I guess. :rolleyes:

But to start *****ing after just 6 tries... he-he. Think I did those first turns in Tokyo (IA 4) 50 times before I nailed it.

they are much harder than GT2 but I've received all GOLDS on my S lisence so they're not impossible:D

I know what you mean.......I also got all GOLDS on my S lisence and it's pretty intense .....sometimes you want to smash something.......on one of them I got exactly the time needed for the gold .....i was like thank God!:D

Yeah I also know what you mean man. :eek: Gold was so freaking hard and such a pain. It took me forever to get all GOLDS! But after you finally do it you feel awesome! (After you pay for the fist hole in the wall) :lol:
 
Yea, it's a pain. But I just finished them tonight (all bronze ... so far). It's nice to be able to run in those last few races in Professional. I'll get a sheet of sheetrock to put my fist through while I go back to get golds on all the licenses (:
