I was in the midst of doing some paint work one night and found myself short on a few colors that I needed. On a whim (via the PS3), I PM'd SC about this, asking him if he had any of these colors he could get to me. WHAMMO .... the guy pulled through, without even blinking an eye. I'll add a story...

I was a widget newbie, having just discovered grinding (via s_c of course) and wanted to drive up the credit totals for my 8 year old son kid_of_steel_. I'm having grinder trouble though...

s_c of course offers some grinding services for my boy, who is a pretty decent racer. He prefers automatic but can definitely hang onto the driving line most of the time. The kid cashes in about 5,000,000 or something crazy, on his BIRTHDAY no less.

Not long after...

Word gets out that s_c and Mrs. Chicken are away for the weekend, so amidst the chaos of the old giveaway thread, several of us decide to pump some items into his inbox. A car or two that had been raced with/against him, plenty of black paints, a ticket or two I believe. My boy heard about it from me, and immediaty wants to send some things. I let him choose. Not knowing any better he chose items like a Sports Intake Manifold "because it looks cool" , a set of tires or two, an air filter, that sort of thing. It probably mixed in nicely with some of the items he discovered in his inbox upon returning home... ie some were joke items sent ny adults like museum cards if I recall correctly.

s_c however, notices some of the items are from my second grader, and publicly thanks him along with a few others who sent items.

"RECEIVE ALL" and getting down the road with a simple "many thanks, ha-ha" would have been really easy there. Nope... s_c isted kid_of_steel_ by name!

Yeah not bad mate all considering! Mrs X decided to go her own way so i had to relocate. Miss her and my little boy loads but made a nice new life in a peaceful village, even though it cost me my life savings. Then the business started suffering some heavy losses, we lost some large contracts, lads had to be layed off but i've pulled it back into the black and hopefuly can give some work out to my old lads again. Life goes on!

We all have reasons for what we do. I try to give as much as I trade because I remember trying to get my foot in the door with absolutely nothing in my garage or ticket bank. There were a few that helped me out by donating a ticket here and a car there, and they always said in repayment to give it to the next guy that comes along needing help. I was always amazed at all the generosity I received and so I try to reciprocate as much as I can. I lived in the giveaway threads, but always had more fun hunting down someone to give something to, espescially the new users. It was always a nice surprise when someone jumped in one of my many starting threads and said, HERE! I hope I see the same reaction from those I give to. I love trading, but giving is just as rewarding so I try to make it a point to take the last week of the month and give away seven cars and seven tickets. Thanks to all that helped me in the past, and in the present!

Glad to hear you are ok sir! It has been way too long since our last contact. You were there at the start to help me, and I will always be grateful for it. The one thing that sticks in mind the most is when you had lost your X1 somehow. The reaction you gave when I said "have another" was priceless! Perhaps one Saturday we can get together and race like the old days??
