The save file glitch strikes again... sort of

10 months after 1 first bought it, I finally got around to connecting my PS3 to teh interwebz (required moving the modem and redoing all the cables - I really must go wireless). So basically I've been playing GT5 version 1.00 for the last 10 months. So naturally, one of the first things I did was patch GT5 up to 2.0. After patching, the game prompted me to install the game data from the disk again (not sure why, as I did this originally). After two loooong waits to complete these processes, I tried to start the game, and got an error message, which I've now learned is the same as that given by the old "save file glitch". Problem is, my save file is only 480 kB, nowhere near 4167 kB, so it can't possibly be a re-emergence of this glitch.

Any ideas what might be causing the problem, and more importantly, is there any way to fix it short of deleting my save file and starting from scratch?

:nervous:

I can't really think what the problem is, perhaps they weren't expecting a save file from 1.00 to be updated straight to 2.00.... only thing I can recommend is just back up your save file now before you do anything else, just in case.

Edit: Why do I type so slow, everyone beats me to responding.

I like that smiley. :)

Thanks for the responses. I guess not many people would wait 10 months before connecting their new console, so they wouldn't be expecting such occurences.
