Ok, there's no question that everybody here likes to race against their friends and fellows from GTP and that a schedule is needed to do it.

Now, I'm not sure about FUJI, but the Suzuka races, at least in the new events, last no more than 7.30 minutes to be over (1st car finishing well bellow 7 minutes, plus 30 secs of waiting for the others to cross the line).

Last night, after (as an example) a xx.00 race, I was back at the start screen, ready to hit "X", at about xx.08. That meant I had to wait 7 minutes (take or give a few seconds) to do the next race.

And that seems like a long time to wait, especially since I can only play at night, between 23:00PM and 2:00 AM (last night I stayed longer, and themorning suffered heavily from that).

I don't think we should race "back to back" races because that'll make it impossible to: a) get rid of punters; b) allow sync with someone that enters after all others started racing.

SO, I propose that, for this line-up of events, we change the known 00-15-30-45-00 schedule to 00-12-24-36-48-00. It's one more race for each hour, and it still will make us wait about 3 4 minutes between races.

Have your say!

EDIT - Since this is for a quick decision (the events change every two weeks), the poll will remain open just for three days.

I voted for 12 min intervals, but I'd be up for running on the :10's if it would add another race to the hour. I'm not so good with the patience, and find the wait for the :15's to be just enough for me to get completely distracted and miss the next race.

yep 10's would be good, although sometime's the extra 7 minutes come's in handy for writing apologies

I find the 2nd option the best for me; still time for a wizz and not too long of a wait. :D:tup:

every x:10 would be great seeing that most races average about 7 minutes.

10 minute intervals would work most of the time, but occasionally the game takes 2-3 minutes to match players, and we would miss the next race. But that rarely happens, so I also think 10 minutes between races is a good idea.

Im up for the 12's can be a long wait between races especially if your last one was a duff un cause of the usual punters paradise

i don't mind 12's it just means more chance of punters. plus everyone is used to the xx15 (even the non gtpers) i think 15 makes for the best racing but 12 is the most logical. people need to decide which one GTP follow otherwise we will always be split up.

Yes, that's exactly why I posted this 3-days poll. To achieve quickly a consensual schedule, also allowing a short debate.

I think using the chat is the best option save for the select few that don't have a laptop or computer right next to their PS3 setup.

I have my PC in my lounge, but normally the missus is either on ebay/playing a game etc. So it's not really easy to get to the chat room. I will just stick with the 15min. :sly:

You guys with the chat.. Try to install the lastest version of JAVA on your computers. If the application is not working. IF its your fire wall, then I can't help you.

I race anytime, but 12 min intervels are good.

EDIT:

Or you can use mIRC for the chat. Much better

15min intervals are best. That gives time to come here and talk about a race for a couple of mins before the next one. 12 min intervals just don't work, sometimes by the time you exit a race you started at say xx:00, it's already xx:12, you might as well just say back to back.

My proposal is that

-On the World Event 12mins is enough.. the connecting screen doesn't take as long as it does in the other events so still some time to chat here. 15 mins there is boring... too much time in between.

-Other events, I think 15 mins is the best above mentioned reasons. The connecting takes there more time due to the less people.

I think it's not that hard to remember... World event 12mins, Others 15mins.'

The 750pp takes even less time than the International event (some races finish in about 6 minutes), I say 12/12 on both those events.

At least that's what I'll be doing. :)

👍👍

I say race every 12 mins. Less time to wait in between races, plenty of time for one race and then the next, and a schedule other platforms will not likely choose as well.
What GTP racers need to do, of course, is to have the PS3 check time with internet so that all clocks are the same :dopey: but do you guys all do that?

Yeah, I noticed my clock was out by a minute or so since the new update. It's right now. :)

+1.

like i said before i say we keep the 15 minutes, it worked perfectly before and still will now.

all you have to do is wait an extra 45seconds then before, you guys make it look like the races are 2 minutes quicker. matching is about 15secs quicker and the race is about 30seconds quicker = 45seconds. well not even 30. most of us could lap 2.16ish on 600pp suzuka, most of us lap 2.11 on the f430 racing = 5secs x 3 = 15 secs
so really its only an extra 30-45secs depending on matching. c'mon guys sort it out. xx15 makes more sense, well to me it does anyway.

I'm with Zetec here. Last night I saw only a handfull GTP_racers online, and I don't think it's only because of the new events. Last week there were mostly 3 to 5 GTP-racers in any race I drove, but I hardly see any GTP-member at the moment in only 3 expert races.

Secondly, I hardly have time to make slight adjustments to my tune and drive 1 test lap before the next event. Many GTP-ers have not seen this thread at the moment, so it's a bit confusing when driving online and seeing so few GTP-ers.

Last night i was doing races every 12 minutes and it worked out well in my opinion. In the world event you cant tune anything and i found myself waiting about 3-4min after the race ended to start a new race, with the 1 min schedule i would of been waiting about 6-7 minutes which i think would be too much.

i've got noth9ing against the 12 min rule, it just if we are going to do the 12 min rule i want everyone to do it, atm i feel more people are still sticking to the 15 compared with the 12. i just done the world event in xx12 and only 2 gtpers were there, which was less then the xx15.

I originally voted for the "00-12-24-36-48" system, now I wish I could re-vote. The reason I thought of is timezones........ if say someone in Melbourne (30 mins ahead of me) connects at 2:48, then my local time would be 2:18 which I would never connect at that time so I have no hope of playing against him/her. If the same person connected at 2:45 it would be 2:15 here and I have a chance to meet them in race.

What I am saying with all the different times zones we are in GTP'ers would be jumbled up all over the hour.
