The Simpsons are stereotypical, but no-one seems to care! yey!

Has anyone noticed that The Simpsons on tv is really stereotypical? I really couldn't care less, but they seem to make fun of everone, and no-one cares.

Examples:

People from england don't sound like 19th century chimney sweeps

People from Canada aren't all geeky and like servants to the Americans


I'm not getting agrovated at the simpsons as i enjoy the shows so much, and i even laugh at our country being made fun of, but my point is how strange it is that no-one really cares!
 
I think the point of the show is to make fun of everything and everyone, I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find examples for almost every nation, including the US (not that the whole show itself isnt reflecting America).
 
Frankly I'm surprised the Simpsons has not been cancelled yet. The show has not been good at all in about 5 years.

The stereotypes were funny when the show was about social satire, now it's just the same old fart-type jokes and adolescent humor. Fox should let it die a quiet death and put Family Guy in it's slot.
 
I don't mind about the steretyping. It's done in jest, and that's fine by me.:)

And who's to say that I'm not a 19th century chimney sweeper?

How can someone who likes Family Guy have the incredible nerve to say that The Simpsons is nothing but "the same old fart-type jokes and adolescent humor"?!

Family Guy is just about the exact same thing as The Simpsons only with different characters.

And American Dad is even worse. It's like a complete ripoff of family guy, which was a ripoff of the simpsons.

I'll second that. Just get it in a bloody timeslot that stays put.
 
They probably want to get a good record in on the longest running series.

And yes they should get rid of it and put on Futurama and Family Guy.

But Futurama is educational. I had to watch it in R.E because one episode covered pollution (space garbage ball?).
It just isn't the same after :(

I'm just waiting for the Simpsons to take the mick out of Wales, then I'll vote against them.

now the simosons suck didly uck. there hasnt been any good episodes for years i say up to the 13 th season were when simpsons were in there prime.

My main problem with The Simpsons is that they've done it all and now the show has lost it's direction. Maybe it would help if they finally allowed the characters to get a bit older?

Family Guy, while hilarious, will probably get boring if they get it as far as a fourth season. The reason is the immature jokes in it. If they want the show to have a lasting appeal, it should at the very least have a bit of intelligent humor tossed in like in Futurama and some of the serious episodes of South Park.

I watch South Park, Drawn Together (when it was on), Futurama, Simpsons, and my Family Guy DVDs :dopey:.
 
You think the Simpsons version of Canadiens is bad. South Parks is just great. So that's why Jack looks so weird :p

Everyone shpould just start watching kids shows. Programs like lilo and stitch are fasinating, especially their space alien theories.
 
Bring back the what now? :lol: I love the Simpsons. The Asian impressions are the best. (Myself being Asian.)

I hate King of the Hill... :indiff:
