I did a search and only found The sims 1 so I decided to start a new thread for this. If you just sit on your butt in this game you will get fat. If you work out you will stay in good shape.

This will be the best Sims for sure. Here are a few highlights from the link.
-Perhaps the biggest change for the Sims series is the addition of DNA. The Sims can now pass on characteristics to their offspring, which will resemble and look like their relatives.
-In addition, not only will Sims grow old with age, but their physical characteristics will change depending on which activities they're undertaking.
-The Sims 2 Body Shop will let customize almost any part that can be used to build a Sim. Anything's possible, from highlighted hair, to tattoos, to crazy shirts and jeans. And each part is completely independent, meaning your cool dragon tattoo can be combined with another player's one-of-a-kind leopard-print shirt
 
Good Thread. I like the Sims series. I can't wait for the Sims 2. Where did you get the release date from? Everywhere I looked it said the 18th of September, and I live in America too.
 
This is gonna be a great game. I felt the first one had too much missing from it, but 2 should fill in most of those gaps.

I watched my girlfriend play this last night for several hours. I was playing games on my PS2 but I would look over occasionally to see what was going on. I cant really give a review but I can say you need a pretty fast video card or comp to run this. Is it laggy for any of you? We have 1gb of ram and a new comp and at times it is still a little choppy.
 
This is a fantastic game...so much better than the first Sims! :D

I spent around 3 hours playing last night and i lost track of time...I guess I can safely say goodbye to my life for a few weeks. :P
 
Yup,it's an awesome game.I have only been playing this game since i bought it.It looks great and it play wonderfull.Very funny too.
 
My girlfriend said she ended up meeting a girl at some party then she invited her to move in. They started kissing and hugging too. Later she asked her to marry her. :lol: A little while after that the game allowed her to have a kid (adopt).
 
My guy in the last week and has made out with 4 girls. :lol: :lol: :lol:

But the ghost are funny too. Has anyone been able to get their own screenshot of the grim reaper? He's funnier in this one. Anyways, are there any patches out yet? And how do the Move Objects cheat work. I've tried Move Objects On but it doesn't work.

BTW, mine lags a little.

This is game is going to be so ruined with cheats.I probably won't use them until i've played atleast 10 generations.
 
I should pick this game up - I think I would be great at it...

Make my character do nothing that sit on his a55 and play GT4 - stuff him with junk food, snacks, beer and watch him grow to incredible proportions... Then get him some tattoos and dress him up in womens lingerie...

I would SO rock at Sims...

The maker of Sims said pretty much the same thing. You can really do anything you want siince you get a baby and it grows all the way up to an adult. Depending on how you raise it is how its personality will be. You even pody train the baby!!
 
I just bought it last night, good think I have a vacation coming up here real soon.

Very awsome game, I love many of the changes they made.
 
My girlfriend said the the baby she has in the game had a birthday and she celebrated it with a party. Then on the next birtday the baby became a little boy and she had to send him to school. Right now her wife is sick and she has to take care of her. keep in mind my girfriends character is a girl and her wife is sick. :lol: 👍
 
does anyone think it will work with an S3 graphics card? I have one in my machine. It couldn't play Deus Ex The Invisible War, But it can play BF1942(in low graphics mode) do you think the game should work?
 
Did anyone notice that it seems you get Saturday and Sunday off?

BTW, why do game mags and guides say manging 1 Sim is diificult? Hell handling 2 is hard enough, but 1 is easy. I can pay attention to just his needs and none others.

BTW 2, I think it is a little stupid that you can't have a Teen and a Senior. I can understand the baby and child, but really, a Teen living with a Senior is ok.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but as the game has just been given out free by EA I guess some people may be interested.

I have 3 problems though. Firstly extremely long loading times, secondly there is a weird black rectangle by my sims feet and thirdly is I am getting a frame rate of 20fps. My pc specs are as follows.
Processor. AMD FX 4170 quad core 4.20 ghz. ◦L2 Cache - 4MB
◦L3 Cache - 8MB
8 gb. 1300mhz DDR3 Ram.
Graphics card. AMD Radeon HD 7770. With latest driver.
Windows 8.1 home premium.

I mean this game is from the times where 250mb of ram was acceptable. I am confused why I am having such bad performance. Is Windows 8 the problem?
