I got it yesterday and am happy with it so far.

This is a thread for all fellow Simmers to rejoice. :)

EA removed most features from past Sims games so they can add them in overpriced expansion packs.

Yet another money-grab. I'll stick with the older Sims games.

That's a given with EA. The thing that frustrates me is that it's another must-Login-to-broken-Origin to play game

From the minute it was unveiled I wasn't interested, the graphics are terrible for starters. They seem to have messed it up as badly as Sim City. The Sims 2 was the best IMO.

It's not awful. I think TS3 beats it content wise- but the emotions are awesome

If they had merged those emotions with more CGI looking people and environments it would have been great. It wouldn't have been hard to do more real looking people rather than cartoony ones.

True. But once you adjust to it, the cartoony look isn't a bad one.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I've only just actually got round to playing this. I was wondering if there is a general sims thread?

Sorry for the year late reply, but I think this is it.

In other news I am slowly getting used to TS4. TS3 still is a tad better, I think, but TS4 has warmed up to me

Seems to me that while some things like pools have been added, not much has changed. No cars, no toddlers. Though I will admit, the sim creation is miles better.

Yeah strange seeing your child jump from a baby to a 10 year old in a day.
Not to mention that the skills they could learn early such as logic and creativity, and basic skills such as potty training, talking, and walking are also axed. I don't play with kids in sims 4, and I wasn't a huge fan of them in 3 (after I made my sims' lifespans much much longer), but even still, the toddler stage is like 30% of the gameplay, just gone.

While we are on the theme of posting in years-old threads, I've noticed that Sims 4 is on Xbox and have been wanting to try it out. It has been a super long time since I played any Sims game, but I hope it's easy to get into it again.

Don't know if I want to do any family stuff but maybe start with a couple.
