The small touches in this game are remarkable.

We can only dream about what a completely finished game would have looked like.

That's exactly my problem with the game, with a few different decisions this game would have been so utterly amazing. It should have been utterly amazing.

I was using the CUSCO Subaru Impreza (the premium touring car) and it seems they placed the gear box differently. It was like a little joystick next to the steering wheel and when you change gear your driver will place his hand on it and pull.

Never seen anything like it, and I think its exclusive to that car.

I like the way that when driving at night in the cockpit view, the lights from cars behind you light up the interior of the cockpit. Very nice little touch!

When you break really hard with the VW sambabus, the camera almost touches the windshield.

I also noticed that inside view shows that he is not wearing a seat belt and rolls about and nearly hits the windscreen when braking hard or if he hits another car in front :)

Wow those headlights are absolutely astonishing! You know, when I see that level of detail that probably won't go appreciated by 90% of the world outside of GTP, it is sort of a good reason why the game took so long to make. The patience of Japanese developers is remarkable sometimes and the photos of the headlights in this thread bare truth that PD's standards are till in practice today.

When Kaz said that he and his team probably went "too far" with the detailing, I looked at the game upon playing it first and wasn't that impressed. But now I have to say... really foolish of me to dismiss such impeccable work. Foolish of anyone who plays GT. Excellent finds.

Oh yeah and the Auto-art graphic under the Mine R34 is one of my favorite small touches. Can be a serious game with all the potential to be 2011's biggest racing/driving game on the market... but it isn't so high on itself that it doesn't have a sense of humor.
