Central Coast,
Like the title says, what games have you played from the 6 part Lucasfilms franchise?

I've played a few:

The good:
Battlefront I & II (hoping for III, but not expecting)
Galactic Battlegrounds (a real-time strategy based on the Age of Empires 2 engine)
podracer game (dont know the name, but it was on N64)

The okay:
Starfighter (based on Ep:1)

The bad:
Monopoly (PC) (oh yes, there was a PC Star Wars Monopoly)

there are a few others, but I don't remeber them all. My absolute favourite would be either Battlefront 1 or Galactic Battlegrounds. But chopping the 🤬 out of people/droids in Battlefront 2 is always a hoot!

What was the one that used the AoE engine. It was the strategy game. I think I was called Galactic Battle grounds. Oh, there it is^.:dunce:

I really like that as a teen and spent hours on end playing the campaign mode.

I also had one called Jedi Academy which was a FPS but not as good as to play KOTOR.

The pod racer game was cool (N64) but didn't stand a chance of getting played much with Perfect Dark in my collection.

I had the pod racer game for PC and it was surprisingly good. It's one of my favorite racing games of all time.

the ones for the snes were really good loved them back in the day

They were fun... but once you got about 10-15 levels in they were damn near impossible without the cheat codes haha.

Sooo..... I kinda might have played a few of them in my time.....

Since that shot I've also picked up Galaxies (which I intend to start straight away as I believe it will be discontinued soon) & lightsaber duels for the Wii.

I have to admit that a fair few of these games are unfortunately rubbish.

My favourites:

X-Wing & X-Wing Alliance
Rebel Assault 2 (yeah I know it's rubbish but I loved it when I was a teenager)
KOTR & KOTR2 (goes without saying that these two are probably the best in the franchise)
Empire at War
Dark Forces
Jedi Academy & Outcast

Majority of the others I found pretty average, but there are some terrible ones as well. Battle for Naboo can not be recommended at all in good conscience and neither can Republic Heroes.

I have to admit that I didn't mind the first Force Unleashed as well. It was too short and the story was rubbish but the first stage in which you play as Darth Vader killing Wookies made up for the entire game. Same can't be said for the sequel.

I've got a game on my iPhone that's from the franchise....er.......let me check......no, deleted it. It was OK but a bit dull.
Basically a Jedi going around destroying droids and Sith.

Galactic battlegrounds (pc) and Masters of the teras kasi (PS1) are my favourite Star Wars games.

I love all Star Wars games, being a huge Star Wars nerd n all.

But the best to me are (no particular order, just the order I think of them):
Force Unleashed 1 and 2
KOTOR 1 and 2
Super Star Wars, Empire and RoTJ on the SNES
Battlefront 1 and 2
Rogue Squadron 1, 2 and 3
Shadows of the Empire
All the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight games
Republic Commando

Bound to have missed a few there but those are the ones I can remember.

My favorites were the Podracer games, The X-Wing/Tie-Fighter series, KOTOR, Battlefront I & II, Jedi Academy, the Rogue Squadron series, Force Unleashed, Dark Forces (was probably my first) and Rebel Assault series.

I've always been a big fanboy for the series since I was knee-high to a protocol droid. I've played most of the "mainstream" or well known games, and even some of the lesser ones. Admittedly though, I was never able to beat Star Wars Bounty Hunter. I still think that is in the top 5 hardest games I've ever played.

Loved that one, was incredibly hard but it really gave a good back story for Jango Fett.

Not really that big a Star Wars fan but I have owned...

Star Wars Episode 1 The Game on PC, despite some negative reviews (mostly due to people hating the film) I thought it was excellent game back in the day. It was well character voiced and covers all the storyline going on through the film that was happening behind the scenes. Nice levels which visit all the locations and good puzzle solving thrown in with the shooting. Odd camera angle and iffy controls but lots of fun and one of the better products to come out for the film.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 on PS2, goes without saying its top notch stuff although was slightly struggling on PS2 hardware. I didn't have a network adapter but co op and the com AI created good battles. The campaigns where also really enjoyable.

And played...

Rouge Squadron on Gamecube, I loved the visuals which were a step up from PS2 stuff at the time. Pretty difficult to play but like Battlefront in may ways so just as good.

I picked up a Gamecube copy of Bounty Hunter recently. Looking forward to trying it out soon. I've heard a lot of positive stuff about it.

I didn't find it to be terrible, the camera angle and controls are pretty frustrating however. I think a lot of the time reviewers will inevitably compare games to others in the franchise that might have done things a little better. Also when it comes to something like Star Wars which has such a strong following, the criticism increases ten fold and all the small things can and will get picked to pieces.

Yeah, when its a big franchise its always like treading on eggshells for the developers because they have to please a fan base which is very particular about everything and often reasonable stuff get lambasted! Star Trek is another franchise where people are hard to please but most of those games have been pretty poor.

For those who don't know this is Episode 1 on the PS1 (same game but had much better graphics on the PC).

I have a bad feeling about this...

That's usually the first thing on my mind whenever I read about a new star wars game. There have been a few good ones though. And I am stunned by Syntax error's collection.

I liked the first podracer game. Had it for the pc. Episode 1 for the pc was also good. The jedi knight/academy series on pc was good. Also, I enjoyed the rts based on the age of the empires engine. I didn't like starfighter as I was into my "hardcore" flight simulations and it was just too basic for me. KOTOR was the first RPG that I loved

I have it for PS2 and let me warn you, prepare for madness. I only got through roughly half the game legit. I've played all the levels via cheat codes, and still couldn't beat most of them.

Thanks, Not entirely sure at what point it got out of control but I only really took notice of the size of the collection when I moved house recently. I decided they should go on display but this means that my little brother-in-Law constantly pesters me about the games.

I've always been a bit on the fence about Starfighter. I did like that it reminded me some what of my miss spent youth playing Terminal Velocity but the game certainly lacked alot of detail. Certainly very basic when compared with the X-Wing and Tie Fighter series.

Excellent. The current crop of game releases (not referring to Star Wars games here) seem to always be a little too easy, so a bit of a challenge is most welcome.

I remember Terminal Velocity. Me and my sisters used to play it after watching Star Wars ep:4, because of the epic dogfighting at the Death Star. We had a pilot, a gunner, and a navigator (we were young). I played it again about 2 years ago, and it was relatively easy to do it on my own. Even though we only had the first of 3 episodes, we had a lot of fun.

But I never played X-wing vs TIE Fighter, or any variants of them. Were they any good?

Yes! They will probably feel a little dated by todays standards, but they are fantastic games. The last one to be released was X-Wing Alliance, is probably the most refined of the bunch and ebay has them for real cheap. The re-released version will work on Windows 7 without issue as well.

My favourites are

The Force Unleashed 1&2
Rebel assault 1&2
X-Wing VS Tie Fighter
X-Wing Alliance
Rogue Squad 2
I'm a huge Star Wars fan and own nearly all media- The games are epic.

@Syntax Error, X-Wing VS Tie Fighter doesn't feel dated because the add on disc BALANCE OF POWER makes it feel more up to date in my opinion. Oh and the 1st level in Rogue Squad 2 is a very accurate version of the Death Star battle from ep.4.

I can't help but feel that a new release to the series would have some dramatic improvements to the graphics. Still I certainly would recommend any of the X-Wing & Tie fighter games to Star Wars fans and space flight (sim) fans. They are all brilliant games that still play very well.

So, I thought I've been looking at the full list of Star Wars related games that have been produced and I came to the realization that I seem to own pretty much every game released for pc, Wii and gamecube (minus any duplication of multi-platform releases). This roughly equates to about half the games ever released in the franchise, so I've decided that I might as well complete the collection and pick up the other titles that I don't currently own. So it was only fitting I start at the very beginning, the first ever released Star Wars game, which funnily enough actually kicks off with The Empire Strikes Back :odd:

Now I need to find an Atari to play it on  Seriously though, I want to play it!

While I was trawling ebay I picked up these titles for next to nothing:
Jedi Starfighter for Xbox
Obi-Wan for Xbox
Ep 3 Revenge of the Sith for Xbox
Yoda Stories for Gameboy Colour

For anyone still playing SW: Battlefront 1, there are some great things you can do in splitscreen. My sister and I still play it, and we select Bespin: Cloud City, and select diferent sides. We then proceed to the halway on the south of the map, and blow each other to peices with rocket launchers. Very fun, and recommended!

But I hate rebel pilots with a passion. They can headshot you with a shotgun from just about anywhere.

Latest addition to the collection, Star Wars for the ZX Spectrum. One of my mates still has one kicking around so we'll be giving it a go in the next few days.

Latest purchase. This takes it to 46 SW games in my collection.

Also played a bit of Dark Forces today. The FPS genre has come along way since this game. No looking up or down and very easy ai. On the hardest difficulty I was still breezing through it. Still I enjoyed it immensely as it brought back plenty of memories from when I played it back when I was still only in high school.

Just gone back and played Rebel Assault II on my PSX, was very good in its time. But It'll never be as good as X-Wing alliance though.

Since my little collection has grown over the last few weeks, I thought I'd do an update shot:

You might also want to consider picking up "Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon" for the GBA. I'll also consider you haven't got Balance of Power. But apart from those it looks like a near complete collection. $50 for the whole lot? ;)
