Got my ticket to the Sunday gig at Heaton Park - Manchester. Can't wait for this one, anyone else going?

Re-forming the 'Roses is the worst idea ever. Let sleeping dogs lie, i say.

Everyone is going crazy acting like they have always loved the band because they have a handful of their songs. Good band, they must be low on cash.

I've bought their first album countless times, not sure why but I keep losing that one. I absolutely love this band, I'll be dusting down my maracas and flares for this beauty. Quite strange that while they were big back in the day they weren't huge but these three gigs suggest they were massive. Hugely influential though and they've probably gained a lot of fans since the mid-nineties which along with the long absence would explain the demand for tickets

How many songs does it require to officially "love a band?" :dunce:

I only like a few songs from them =P I wouldn't go though.

They're going to be short concerts. They only produced 2 albums in the 13 years they were together.

Good luck to them, but I can't help thinking that they are flogging a dead horse. The Stone Roses pulled off something remarkable with their first album - and to this day, it's rated as one of the best albums of all time (from the UK atleast). But the problem with creating something so original and ground-breaking is that it's nigh on impossible to repeat, let alone surpass.

And I can't help but thinking that going to see them in concert today would be borderline harrowing... not least because you'll be lucky to hear a middle-aged Ian Brown's vocals over the nostalgic crooning of an equally middle-aged, misty-eyed audience. That, and the fact that the Stone Roses are almost certainly doomed to become their own tribute band...
