Good luck to them, but I can't help thinking that they are flogging a dead horse. The Stone Roses pulled off something remarkable with their first album - and to this day, it's rated as one of the best albums of all time (from the UK atleast). But the problem with creating something so original and ground-breaking is that it's nigh on impossible to repeat, let alone surpass.
And I can't help but thinking that going to see them in concert today would be borderline harrowing... not least because you'll be lucky to hear a middle-aged Ian Brown's vocals over the nostalgic crooning of an equally middle-aged, misty-eyed audience. That, and the fact that the Stone Roses are almost certainly doomed to become their own tribute band...
