Last nights racing was great fun. Jamesybograt had some connection issues, and it was a great shame that he couldnt join the race. Even after a restart , with an extra 5 minutes qualifying time, it wasnt to be. The new Elise proved to be a different animal than last season 96 car on RH tyres. The sports tyres take a bit more taming, and the car will bite you back if overcooked. Rosenlundaren really struggled with his set up in the same way that Omnius and Third_reign did in the Jubilee race, and he had to retire from the race.

Well done to Cobrius for the win, and an exceptional performance from Omnius got him 2nd place, with Jimftr2 completing the podium. Jim has been on the podium for all 3 warm up races, and could be in contention along with Jamesybograt for challenging current Sunday Cup champion, COBANI.

A warm welcome to Sunday Cup new comers, Shin_Roh and GTP_Hasslemoff. I hope you enjoyed the racing. Both of you showed some great pace, with Shin managing pole position (in the restart) and fastest lap.

Tell me about it! Back in the Jubilee race the Elise was a NIGHTMARE! Here's me thinking this coming season was going to really annoy me!

Talk about a total role-reversal! It comes on the back of my setup I created for the G4 in the CORE, and figured "I wonder??????....." and as if by magic, using the same numbering format of dampers and springs, my Elise just came to life!!!!!

As the friendly race proved, even on SH tyres, I was able to consistantly get pole in qualifying and lead the race for 20 laps, until I decided to pit to get the hards, figuring (from testing) I'd need at least 5 laps to get the tyres to the temp I could drive at pretty much the same as the Mediums.

On lap 28 cobrius slipstreamed me to take the lead starting lap 29, so rather than doing the same to him as we crossed the line for lap 30, I chose to stick behind and go for the jump on the final straight, but as you can see, I left it a tad too late to boot it! .3 seconds too late :banghead:

I only hope I'll have similar performance throughout the season now! 👍

For season 1 I posted the factory set up for the steering geometry. I also tried to recreate the suspension settings from the Exige cup 260, which has fully adjustable Ohlins suspension. These settings seemed to work well on the 96 Elise, and are almost identical to the 2004 model.

I use this as a base set up, and only make small adjustments depending on the track.

Also, the 2004 Elise does have ABS, but if you are not using it in GT5 remember to brake before you turn.

Well if they do, i won't be racing sunday i don't think. ade could postpone it, i think the majority of english people here would be watching england in a international final.

If in the event of England reaching the Euro Finals, I will postpone the start by 2 weeks. This is to fit in with Jamesbograts Sunday GT3.5 Cup, which runs on the Sundays in between. But this is only in the event of them reaching the finals. The current race fixtures will remain the same until we know more in a weeks time. I think that this is the fairest way, as if a lot of people miss Race 1, there will be a lot of catching up to do, and we would also like a good full grid for the first race.

Edit....

If anyone else would be happy with a postponement because of the Euro's please let me know. I know that Joylord cannot make the first race as he has other obligations, and Third reign has said that he will be watching the football. Not being a football fan, I didnt realize that July 1st clashed with the football, but if we are going to be left with a small grid for the first race, then maybe it would be better to delay the start to July 15th. I know some of you will be disappointed, but if SC2 is going to be as good as SC1 we need to have as many of us at the start as possible. Look at it this way, it means SC2 will last 2 weeks longer than planned.

ATTENTION RACERS.

I have decided to postpone the first race of The Sunday Cup S2 by 2 weeks. This is due to FIFA organising a football tournament that reaches its final on the same day, at the same time. I am aware that many of you wish to watch this, and as I wish everyone who has registered to enjoy what looks to be a very promising series, I have decided on this delay. It is very important to me that as many of you as possible make the first race, and I wouldnt want anyone to miss out because FIFA organised their event to clash with mine. All details in the OP, race calender and driver standings table have been updated with the refreshed dates. The new start date for The Sunday Cup S2 is now Sunday 15th July. Thank you in advance for your co operation and patients gentlemen, and sorry for any inconvenience, I will message you all on PSN with this info aswell.

Been on the phone to FIFA, and they said sorry about the dates, they will check the Sunday Cup timetable before organizing any more tournaments, and have given The Sunday Cup some free advertising space.

Now that the start has been delayed, it seems like a long wait again until S2 gets under way, so to keep your excitement going I will share with you some facts, as I know some of you (ROSENLUNDAREN) like the real/virtual connections. When planning SC2 I wanted to try to recreate the car as close as possible to real life. The starting point was the BHP, and I picked the 2012 Lotus Elise s. This car comes with 217 bhp. The closest that you can set the online power limit to this is 216 bhp, so we are pretty much bang on.

The next step was trying to work out how much BHP should be given in the Upgrades. By looking at different after market tuning websites, I found that a Lotus Elise 111R phase 4 SC upgrade will give an additional 60 BHP.

As the series progresses we will be given power uprades every 2 races. These increases in power will be 20 BHP with each upgrade, and we will finish up with 276 bhp by the last 2 races, which again is fairly spot on to this graph.
