What can be done about the unruliness of the Active Aero sending the car into a wall in most turns? It’s crazy, during a turn, the nose suddenly gets a boost of downforce or super mechanical grip and put a corner of the nose into a wall!

How can I use this to my advantage? How can I dial it out without screwing up the PP for the grind race?

I’m on Sport Softs for the whole race and generally use 6th gear through the twistiest, with my T500 set fairly soft to prevent the violent side to side of the wheel when the car is on a flat surface.

When I use to do that race in just under 18 minutes I used racing hard tires and 7th gear only, and the first lap you I have to be careful not to slide into the walls. After the first lap you only need to brake at the first corner and the second to last corner only, because the track start drying out and watch out for slow cars.
Taming the Hawk just use slight wheel inputs for the twisty part of the circuit, and when I first started with the Hawk at the track, I was hitting everything using my wheel. Driving inputs solve it and I did not hit anything through the twisty parts, and if you use to much driving inputs well you are going to be in trouble.

Sadly I have given up on this game because there is something in GT7, that should have never have been in the game.

I drive in higher gears so that it does not wheel spin. it seems to have worked for me.
at the first and second turn I am in 5th or 6th gear but partial throttle
while at hairpin i go down to 4th but as soon as the turn is complete i jump to 6th and then again downshift to 5th as the turn is complete and then change only on redline as I zoom ahead on the straight.

The only worst times I might end up in wall is while lapping the cars and when the AI sometimes misbehave and move opponent cars left and right but I manage to complete the race in 19 mins with one pit stop and some rare times a penalty of 5 secs.

I must say I have played this track more than a 100 times by now with this car with different 600pp tunes. To control this car requires a bit of practice and patience. first try it in lower gears and gradually as you understand the car you can increase your speed.

currently using this tune https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...without-power-restrictor-over-620km-h.407727/

You don’t want to play the game because you can tune your car? A feature present in all GT games?
Na, it's not that, he dislike that it affect pp, like how when the suspension is tuned it affect your overall car performance, same with lsd and transmission as you can play with them around and there's unrealistic threshold, it should be obvious if you played with ecu, ballast and transmission to affect PP a bit.

I dont mind it but apparently it's a deal breaker for some. I actually like that the game reward you if you take the time to tune your car. It's just that at some threshold it jump like 20 pp for a 1% decrease or increase, which doesnt seems realistic.

Yes, noone can expect a stock tune to be as quick as a tuned car.

It definitely needs work, but like you said, I like it.

I have been tuning since GT6 and I totally like the system the way it was, and now we have a unrealistic system in GT7 that PP effects the tuning side of things. It's not a good look on PD part because as I said it is unrealistic system to bring it in do this in a game, and makes no sense to have it because it is not a real system to be put into place..

GT6 had Performance Points too. They changed according to power and weight, but power and weight are not the only things that affect performance. GT7's Performance Points are more sensible because they show how other things that affect performance actually affect performance.

Why do you think having an objective measure of how a car should perform is "queer"?

But it's unrealistic to have performance points that effects the Suspension, LSD, Transmission settings and the tires, as you pointed out that PP should only be on Power & Weight. I always liked PP but not the way that PD has it in for GT7, that effect the tuning side.
This why I called it a queer thing to have because it is not real, when it comes to tuning.

Last I checked, "queer" wasn’t a very positive loaded word. Used in any context.

But why isn’t it realistic? If you lower a car too much or put on too much camber in real life, you don’t think that affect the performance of the car? What about stretched tires, you think that has 0 impact? Or hey, welding your diff. That does nothing to the performance of a car, does it?

Come on.

Sorry to butt in ... but .... is queer a word that is not allowed to be used nowadays ?
Obviously shouldn't be used in the wrong context.

I’ve only heard it in that context, but then again English isn’t my first language :P so many words have been blacklisted so it’s hard to tell what’s ok these days. 🙈 if it is an ok word then I’m sorry to have raised questions about it. 🙊

No, I pointed out the opposite:
GT7's Performance Points are more sensible because they show how other things that affect performance actually affect performance.
GT6 did it wrong: power and weight (and downforce as I recall) are not the only things that affect performance. GT7's system measures how other things that affect performance affect performance.

Ah ok cool. No it's a valid word for something that is weird or strange.
Some people do use it to insult gay people though - which is wrong, so it has different meanings.
Your English is very good by the way :)
Thanks for the reply.

And this is the that I referred to 😅
I learned a new use for the word then, probably won’t use it as I only think of the negative usage. Kinda like what the brits are calling cigarettes. Makes me cringe.

Thanks, I write English daily, that helps! I sometimes struggle with is/are though :P (and no auto correct, why would I use that on a Norwegian keyboard. :D)

GT7 gets the right idea, but the execution is so poor that we'd be better off just basing it on power and weight.

They definitely need to get rid of the methods of getting a glitched low tune, that just ruins the game for everyone.

Okay I got you, the person wasn't using it in that context though.

Hhaha yes, the cigarettes one too.
English language can be very strange at times, but seriously I would not have thought you were Norwegian from your writing.
Have a good weekend :)

Indeed!

Hahah, a lot of my American friends keep telling me my grammar is better than most their friends. So I pride myself on that. You should hear me talk though. Not nearly as good. Lol. (A friend of mine in Colorado loves my accent but I hate it)

Thanks, you too! Enjoying a birthday IPA alone as we speak.

Happy Birthday man !!!
At least your beer will be cold.... chilled in Norway snow !
Thaaaankyou.

It was 18 degrees celsius today so nope, no snow. :D but it was cold, had it in the freezer for a little while.

It’s kinda nuts how a 6 or a 5 in third gear changes whether I can use Sport Soft or Racing Hard! Personally I like SS.

I still can’t string together 2 laps without penalties 🤦‍♂️. I’m running about 20 minutes consistently.

When using Tommy Hawk at a grind race besides Tokyo, this car has a severe braking problem! It does not like to slow down at Sardegna, Le Mans, or Spa! These other three grind races are 800pp. I’m fine with the power of the car, the braking is HORRIBLE though. What in the suspension can be adjusted to help this thing stop?

Why not try using the Tomahawk S, it's not as fast as the X BUT a much easier car to to drive and handle. I can do Tokyo in around 22/23 minutes and I'm an average driver at best. Here's a link to the settings https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-600pp-post-update-1-13.408114/#post-13701049
