Why did he use arcade for that run? Isn't arcade physics dumbed down a little bit compared to GT mode physics? It has been like that in every GT game since the beggining.

:dopey:

Perhaps Jezza & co wants a star in our expensively priced car :).

Don't worry, looks like they're only making Nintendo and web based games. Article below from TheSixthAxis

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/01/22/itv-bbc-to-make-games/

The BBC have recently announced they will start developing games based on its big hits such Doctor Who, Top Gear and In The Night Garden for DS, Wii and ‘online’ (they mean Facebook). No mention of our favourite consoles which is surprising, especially when many reports show making money from a Wii or DS game is pretty hard due to the over saturation of the market. ITV have now said they wish to expand their presence in the games market. Do you want to know their exciting sales pitch?

“The Krypton Factor is a great vehicle for corporate staff training so developing this as a tool for commercial and public use gives added dimension. Emmerdale and Bullseye also lend themselves to fun family-orientated gaming.”

In my opinion this partnership for designing cars can work. Because TG has to buy most of their cars that they test, if they pass these cars to PD who model them before TG sell them. Then PD releases DLC with these cars and cuts TG in on the profits. Everyones happy :D

TG is very entertaining but I can't see any clues of a full cooperation between GT and TG. TG is uncompromised and funny, GT aims to replicate the feel of the cars, and as a big fan I have to admit that TG is very tendentious when reviewing certain cars ( eg: any German car, the LFA analysis was pathetic too ), inversely, KY declares it's love for any kind of car, he put his team to model a '72 Honda Life Step van to GT4, can you imagine Jezza driving that thing?
" - The seats are flat, the engine is rubbish and did Honda knew that someone may have invented upholstery before the seventies? "

TG and GT are very different in essence. :D

I too believe their will be more "Top Gear" features or content than just the track.

Trailers already show what seemed like a drag race down the runway and recently with what seemed a race against a lear jet.

where?

I'm almost positive that isn't true. Maybe all the terrible everyday cars they review, but the supercars, they do not buy. Also, how many times has it been said, just because TG gets a car, doesn't mean PD can use it unless they have a license. If they do have a license, chances are, all the info they would ever need is provided to them by the manufacturer....

👍

How come it took nearly 12 hours for someone to point this out on a slow news day?!

The test Track is confirmed correct? After that I want the Suzuki Liana and the Chevy Lacetti so I can see how I stack up in the star in a reasonably priced car.

How will the TG track work anyways? Wont we all just smash into each other when we cross paths? It'd be like Destruction Derby Raw all over again

That has crossed my mind too. I assume it will just be used for time trial rather than racing.

No, I don think it is the way it works. Lambo is Audi now, Audi has been in the game and the deal with EA is done. That is how it works. And Lambo wants the 14 - 42 year old male enthousiast to buy carmodels, mugs, posters, books and laptops from Lamborghini. What is a better way then to have it done in a game like Forza 3 or GT5?
If you're implying that Lamborghini is only now in because of Audi's ownership, no that's not how it works (we'd have had Ferrari long ago).

Lamborghini has never had an exclusive contract with EA, either. And I'm betting PD didn't grab Lamborghini for GT4 due to the "bad blood" they may have caused by trying to include a Diablo before an agreement was actually set (this may go for Porsche as well) back in GT3.

Jeremy has mentioned plenty of times that manufacturers send them cars to borrow or lent to test.

You really don't think the BBC was just going to buy a McLaren, Bugatti, and a LP670-4 SV just for one episode, do you?

A sweet idea would be if they implemented it as if it was a real show.

1) you pick one of your fine cars within your garage, and head to the topgear section.
2) they reveiw your chosen car, explaining little facts about it and so on, while showing it off
3) they test drive your car in b-spec= topspeed, track time
4) you can race the track as well; for fun, or to see if you can beat time

Dont lie, you need it like some good ole rock and roll

Test Track is confrimed alright, and I think both the Lacetti and Liana will be in the game, but if you look on the show (go to their website and chose any celeb outtakes not actual interviews for proof in the video section) the Liana and Lacetti both have roll cages and recaro bucket seats... TG versions of these as seperate cars?

Also Hammerhead iEagle-Thrust "Geoff II" rumoured to be in GT5... Who thinks that will happen aside myself? It may not be brilliant but I would want it!

@ Griffith500

maybe, but fance is identical especialy steel parts !

Also why would they include other part of alpine road ? It is probably that TG pointed it in their video and Kaz said " OMG " This is the simple idea. And simple ideas are the best.

N-ring also is considered narrow in GT4 so scale doesn't matter if thay show details like fance and signs....

Just was invited to a Facebook page.

If we get 1 million members the BBC will not stop Topgear:

Most fake thing I've ever seen in my life.

The series 14 finale (most recent episode) had 5.2 million viewers on its initial showing. The premiere of that series had 5.1 million viewers.

There's millions and millions of people constantly blabbering on about TG (even here in the US). And because MORE people were watching it, they just made it HD, too.

Sure, but you look at any road in any part of any country, and they'll all look alike within the same region. I'm not saying it's definitely not the "Stelvio Pass", but it sure isn't absolute confirmation that it is.

What I was alluding to was my persistent fantasy of a random point-to-point course generator, where you choose the locale and it spits out a random road to enjoy (similarly for the El Capitán -esque mountain road, and the Toscana road in the 458 vid?) The idea is, if you get a good one, to save / share the "seed" for others to enjoy. I imagine this sort of thing would be good fun online. I'm not convinced it will happen, however.

There are a lot of roads in the Stelvio pass region, some further away are actually wider and better driving roads. Stelvio IMO isn't a very good driving road for a game. It maybe fun in real life, but sharp narrow hairpins in games without triple monitor setup is more pain than pleasure :)
PD may have modelled another road there, but it's certainly in that area. Maybe more towards Davos

You certainly can't do a whole lot of drifting around those switchbacks on the real Stelvio. It would be basically like that coastal road in GT4 on steroids, and those sharp narrow turns were terrible

I quite like that idea. If you take a suzuki liana or chevy lacetti round the topgear test track your fastest lap is placed amongst that of the celebs. Then if you can also see the stigs lap times in any car.

Also i do believe the stig is included in the game. Sebastian Loeb is so i dont see why the stig won't be

The stig is somewhat of a fictional driver so I don't think PD would incorporate a fully pixelated stig. But who knows, maybe they will.

The Stig won't be in the game, PD contacted me about being modelled but i declined as i didn't see the point of appearing on a disc.
And the prospect of being reduced into pixels scares the living daylights out of me, and i also don't like the fact of being handed over to millions of poorly skilled puppet masters.;)

Wow, the show will be so terrible that I don't even want to think about it. Top gear = clarkson, hammond, and may. If they aren't part of it, it isn't top gear.

There is also Australian version of top gear.. its not as fun. Sure its not THAT bad of a show, but it should not have TOP GEAR name!
